“Left to move out of state, otherwise would have stayed. Complex is cute and well located, get both Montrose and Upper Kirby convenience. My apartment was updated nicely, parking and gated patio, so all in all, good deal for what I was paying. @ past comments about management: Some have had issues with CMK (they are in charge now), but no problems if you are a good tenant and pay on time. In Montrose there are really only a few management companies anyway, so not much choice. Owners do live out of state (as every landlord I ve had does), but CMK is a few minutes down street. Email does work best with them. Didn t like neighbor s dog, but I think have no pets policy now.”

They were previously called Clark, McDowell & Kic but changed names shortly after my moving out- to avoid the bad name I assume. Maintenance requests were a nightmare, took me going to the City Inspector to have them finally "check" for mold from a 6 Month water leak in my bathroom wall. Staff in the office is a joke. They are rude, unhelpful and all around idiotic sometimes. Won't answer questions, won't explain company policy and heaven help you if you get frustrated and say a curse word... they refuse to talk to you on the phone. It took me 2 months to get my deposit returned and when I said a no-no word, I was told all communication had to be through email and then OF COURSE never got a response. The only way I got anything back was by chance speaking with the VP of the company and telling him how late they were (i.e. they technically owe me a lot more money by state code standards) and he made something happen to keep me quiet. Avoid at all costs! This location and any managed by them.”

He's just misunderstood. The guy's honest and straightforward which is all that really matters in the end! Monthly exterminations. No pests (inside). Nice courtyard and architecture. It's a little bit pricy with $795 however not by too much.”

The property manager is around all of the time checking up on things, and the grounds are kept exceptionally clean. Have never seen any insects or vermin. The only frustrations I've encountered is the laundry room only has one washer and dryer which is inadequate for the number of tenants, and when taking a shower the water temp fluctuates constantly...which I personally find extremely annoying. For those who bathe this wouldn't be an issue. Albeit an older building, for the location and the price it's overall a good place.”
— 3910 MCDUFFIE ST · HOUSTON“Property Manager is rude, and slow with maintenance repairs. Will tell you one thing and then do another. Okays people as occupants on a lease, and even signs the lease, but then a few months later tells you they can't live there, and if they stay they will raise the rent, even though the lease states very clearly that the rent cannot be raised in the first term. Landlord doesn't live in the state, and claims her husband is her attorney. Her mother is her broker, and her father is the architect. None of the people incharge are from the US and dont really understand the rules of property real estate in Texas. Nice location. Nice Complex. Screwy management.”
