“I've lived here for over a year and this place is the complete pits. The pipes can bust at any moment and you're stuck without running water which can be days at a time. This happens at least once a month. The units can use some serious upgrading but you get what you pay for. And last to mention, the bat problems. Oh and the neighbors are very loud in the evening and late at night.”

Didn't help that I was personally assaulted and injured, in a common area within the "gated community" -- run down by a hit and run, non-resident in a pick up truck waiting on someone to leave the property when a resident opened the gates to exit in their own vehicle. Not recommended, unless you have a lot of lawyers to sue Fingers and substantial weapons available for your own protection.”

My car was vandalized in your parking lot, 2 weeks ago with a car window broken and my GPS stolen, the Management, does not communicate, it is almost impossible to get in touch with them, the management tells you one thing to solve the problem only for you to go away, and they don't do anything, they create fake charges in your bill, and apparently they get away with murder, no one makes the management responsible for anything, not even cleaning the grounds of the community, the pools are littered with debris making it unattractive to jump in the afternoon, there is so many cats in the community that the smell is really bad, the air condition in the unit, has failed 5 times in 4 weeks. Apparently we as residents have not right to complain, to improve our security or protect our assets. I had been a victim of robbery not only by the delinquents but also by the management, with charges that are not justified nor has logical reason, surprisingly included in a contract that I never received, due to the unexperienced personnel working on the management group. They don't know how to use emails to communicate with the residents, so if we have to communicate with them, we had to leave work earlier or get to work late, just because we have to wait until they shows up at their office. I though the monthly rent was inexpensive compared with others complex, however with all the circunstances that had happens, it seems that will be more expensive and unsafed. The damage that I received in my car, in addition the electricity used by the unfunctional air conditioning system that received when i signed the contract, is already over $2,000.00 per the first month. The rate of breaking on this complex is very hight, and the management does not do anything for it. Rats and roches are our friends in the community, however, we received pest control in a weekly basic.... Does this make any sence' something is telling me something is wrong with this picture... I thought I was saving some money, puting myself and my property at risk, when i move to this property. Cheryl has addressed issues never taken care of before. Her and Mike are a real team. Towne Plaza has it all. Location, price, great office and maintenance staff. I'm proud to be a resident at Towne Plaza Aparatment. Sincerely, Long Term Resident”

— 4647 WILD INDIGO ST · Houston“They do not value thier tenants at all. My car was broken into and they tried to accuse me a lying about it. There are cars broken into every couple of months. There are also bugs all over the place. And nobody ever cleans up after thier dog.”

So, a year ago I looked around this part of town (Greenway, Galleria, Bellaire & West U) but couldn't find a deal near as nice as this. I finally bought a large 1/1 (around 800 sf) for $50K here and have done some minor remodeling. It is a quiet complex with people my age (25-30); Lots of professionals & some students. Parking is assigned, so no probs. Grounds are nicely maintained. I haven't had any wiring or water problems. Yes, it is an older complex, but there's no way I could afford a new place of this size anywhere near the price that I got this one. I've been very happy here!”

— 4647 WILD INDIGO ST · Houston“Left the city for a few years and came back to this complex. So, no question, I liked it. It´s near the Galleria, Westpark, Weslayan, and Greenway. Really nice location.

Other positive: All bills paid. That includes electric, water, cable (w/HBO & Encore). Tenants aren´t bad. Not a lot of kids. Mostly professionals. Some younger peoople but mostly 30 . A lot of the units are actually owned by individuals. So people do care.

Negatives: Older building so some of the wiring is a little poor and I suppose the water could be a bit better. Biggest thing for me is the new management. One the nice, old lady who was our on-site manager died, they brought in somebody new ... and I´m not so fond of her. Whereas things used to get taken care of the day of, now it can take upward of a week . Despite that, my rent keeps going up and up and away and there aren´t incentives anymore to sign longer leases; used to be, I´d at least get $100 for signing a year lease. No longer. And there are a lot of vacant units so it´s not like these things are going left and right.

Anyway, again, the location is nice ... but if you want to live here that badly, you can buy a unit (1 BR) for around $50K. Or you can rent cheaper from an individual (come by and check the postings). It´s still OK ... but, yeah, it´s gone downhill. If I was staying in an apartment, I´d have no prob staying here but I´m looking to buy so soon my apartment will be for rent. ; )

PS. Oh, not gated. Do have a security patrol ... but there are still incidents every so often.”
