“Caught a maintenance employee today on my ring camera putting what looks like food? Gum? Something from his mouth into my tree outside my front door and looking to see if anyone was coming. Extremely disappointing when you cannot even trust the employees that enter your home.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“This is undoubtedly the worst place in River Oaks to rent. La Maison could have been a nice place. It's got a fountain, a couple pools, outdoor and indoor areas for cooking. But it suffers from a few fatal flaws that ruin everything. These are the following: * The floors and ceilings here are thin and have no noise isolation. * Management is apathetic to the concerns of the residents. They will pretend like your concerns mean something but ultimately either do nothing or have you waiting weeks to fix something. They will use ------ contractors that must come over 3 times to fix the same exact issue. What this means is that if you have a noisy neighbor above or below you, your new home will quickly become a nightmare to live in. They have free range to be as absolutely terrible to you as they want, and no one will do anything about it. If you have a neighbor who happens to play the drums, or has a child who loves to run, you will hear no end to the noise. You will suffer until the end of your lease. You can complain as much as you want and call the night guard as much as you want, but ultimately no one is ever going to do anything. Management will be happy to move you to another unit by having you sign a brand new 12 month lease for even more money, but will refuse to lift a finger in every other possible circumstance. I used to think it was a nice place. But now I think it's terrible and am just waiting until the end of my lease to move somewhere else. I completely regret signing my lease here.”

The Leasing office staff is so lethargic and uninterested in helping you. Their first response to everything starts with No. They are racist and have discriminatory practices. They like who they like and completely disregard who they don't. The updates to the apartment are cheap and it shows. nothing is finished or buffed, everything is just left as is. All the entries are app based - which means you HAVE to have your phone on you at ALL times. Good luck if your lock wont open after leasing hours because nobody is available after 6 and on weekends. You might think this provides some security and safety - WRONG. There are homeless people sleeping in the hallways inside the building, Cars get broken into. Suspicious people are always knocking on your door soliciting. None of the incidents get reported, so people are so unaware of the dangers. There have been incidents of indecent exposure as well. Neighbors are inconsiderate. They will block the driveway and have all their drama right there on the driveway and will not budge. There is a dog park but nobody walks their dogs there. The dogs are made to relieve themselves in the garage. So you can only imagine the smell in the garage. Sometimes even humans pee in the garage. Your packages will get stolen, regularly. Leasing office will not care. They have great faith in the new package room system, which has failed in everyway. Take a walk in the premises on the weekends, you will see packages lying everywhere free for people to steal. Forget about same day and express delivery, you will get your package 3-4 days late because of the package room system. The elevators are so smelly, the dogs in this apartment are the smelliest. Some dogs are violent and feral and will attack you in the hallway if the leash is not tight enough. The atmosphere is unsafe and I cant wait to leave.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“worst apartment hunting experience, Valerie Romero who attended me at the front desk was totally rude, racist and unfriendly, I didn't know if I was in a bad mood or she doesn't like her job, the treatment was totally disastrous, when I asked to speak to the manager she was eating her lunch at her desk, and she did not look for a solution, she just mocked, never move there or try to find an apartment there”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“I have been holding off on writing a review but I feel like this past weekend’s events have tipped me over the edge. A resident on the 5th floor was found dead in his apartment. Although management has not confirmed or said anything at all regarding the situation - it is evident. The smell on the 5th floor was unexplainable. As soon as I opened my front door I was struck with the smell of a dead body. I have never smelt this before but I just knew. Furthermore, there was police officers standing outside his door and the medical examiner was seen on the property. I understand that this situation is extremely sensitive and I am not asking for details but I would like to be informed of what happens on the floor I live on. This was our neighbor and management has disregarded him as if nothing ever happened. In addition to this gruesome event, I have also experienced several situations dealing with indecent exposure. Yes, several. The first incident happened in our business center. I went in there to print a document and there was a shirtless man sitting at one of the computers. I thought he was a resident as the business center is locked and you need a key fob to get in. He greeted me and I greeted him back. As I was waiting for my document to print, he started acting odd. He was repeatedly asking me how I was doing so I got suspicious. It was at this point that I looked at his computer screen and realized he was watching porn while touching himself. He turned towards me and fully revealed himself to me. Of course, I ran out before anything more serious could have happened. It should be noted that I called the leasing office right after this happened and they confirmed that one of our leasing agents let him in. Why you ask? No idea. I filed a police report on my own but management did not follow up with me to ensure my safety was a priority to them. A notice of this incident was not sent out to other residents. Once again, sweeping serious matters under the rug. The second incident occurred on the 5th floor. I was walking out into the garage and there was a man sitting in the corner of the hallway touching himself. No idea how he got in but thankfully one of the maintenance men were in the garage and he told the man to leave. Again, I notified the leasing office and nothing was done. I have been compiling photos of the inside of the property ever since I moved here. There is always trash in the hallways. The elevator always has some sort of watery substance on the floor. One time we had a leak in the hallway where water was pouring out from the ceiling and it took about 2 weeks to patch it up. Stains cover the carpet on all floors. I am saddened to write this as this is a perfect area and super convenient but I would not live here knowing what I know now. Please rethink living here. I no longer feel safe as a young woman. I wrote this under an alias for my protection.”
“I would not recommend living at La Maison. The location is prime, but that’s where the pros to living here end. When you’re a resident here, you get your pick of dealing with the fire alarm sounding for days on end, parking garage theft, stolen/lost packages, dog urine in the hallway, water outages for hours, and loud construction for weeks (sometimes multiple at once)! Not to mention the children and the dogs you will constantly be hearing from inside your unit, since the building is hardly insulated at all. Definitely do not live here if you are spending over $1,000 because you will be grossly over paying and frankly wasting money. The day my lease ends at this building will be better than Christmas!”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Looking at moving here around the end of the year. Staff has been nice and friendly. Moving from out of state and not sure of the exact date so I haven’t made a final decision yet but this is my top pick.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Although the location is ideal, that's the only positive aspect of living in La Maison. This complex is noisy, with neighbors coming home drunk in the middle of the night and deciding that's the time to have a party. They also think it's appropriate to let their dogs defecate in the hallways or leave smelly trash outside their doors all day. It's a truly disgusting place to live. The renovation has been horrendous. The construction crew is noisy and their vehicles often block entrances (or make it difficult to safely leave the garage). If you're desperate and make the incredibly poor decision to move here, DO NOT PAY FOR A RESERVED PARKING SPOT. Anyone can take your spot at any time and there are absolutely no repercussions. I'm not renewing my lease and can't understand why anyone else would either. There are so many beautiful complexes in the River Oaks/Upper Kirby area so don't pick one that is nothing more than a trashy trailer park. I've lived in apartments on and off over the past 30 years and this is the worst by far. Living here has diminished my quality of life.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Not happy that the patio which I pay extra for is the construction storage site. They haven't even started construction on my space. Highly noisy and schedule for work is always wrong. Poor communication between staff, tenants, and workers”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Nice community but some neighbors are HORRIBLE. Mainly ----, which multiple other neighbors have complained about, but nothing has been done. They are regularly having parties on weekdays around 3AM with their balcony doors open, yelling, screaming, drunk singing, playing horrendously loud music. Definitely not renewing my lease here and can't wait to move.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“I just moved in to La Maison River Oaks, and I only have great reviews. I had all the help I needed from assistant manager Joesph Turner, who has made me feel right at home. It's a great neighborhood to live in as well, and the community at La Maison and the staff are very helpful and nice. In addition, the property management plans different events each month, which is much appreciated by me as a new resident.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“The staff aren't terrible, but I've had some absurd interactions with the staff of the leasing office. The people working maintenance are fantastic, a lot better than most honestly so zero problems there, but the leasing office people like the manager are deranged. I've had them lie about conversations they had with me to my roommate and vice versa, and otherwise just be extraordinarily rude. The manager looks to be slightly older yet acts like a child that treats people like dirt which is beyond absurd, especially for what you're paying to stay the place. I feel like the place you call home should be the last place you deal with a of stress and as it is I'm stuck feeling like I have to deal with a toddler with an attitude problem. Honestly it's worth just avoiding this place like the plague given the headache some of the people could cause. Edit: Feel like I should also mention that there is the issue with the showers. All the apartments seem to have the same design for them, there's a sort of wall partition next to the showering area (that is next to the bathtubs) with a glass barrier over it, but there's no door so the partition only goes about halfway across. This means whenever you take a shower here that it's like taking a shower with a door open or without a curtain and the water just goes out all over the place. When I initially was checking out the apartment I remember asking about it and the woman from the leasing office was matter of fact about how you weren't really meant to use a shower curtain for it, but it does get water around if you don't so you kinda have to put down a towel or something. Which is a shame because it otherwise looks like a very nice setup.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“We had a minor issue with our unit and Joesph Turner (Asst. Manager) and Tammi Garcia (Manager) were quick to respond and accommodate our needs. I am very appreciative of their responsiveness and willingness to work on our behalf to find a suitable solution. La Maison is lucky to have these two on their team, and we as tenants are lucky to have them on our side.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“We recently moved from this apartment complex mainly because of how it had slid in keeping the place up and how the security that attracted us to this complex was no longer enforced. They are in the throws of renovation on the outside which are needed, however it was delayed for so long. The walls are very thin and you can hear noises all around you. Living on the bottom floor you can hear the people upstairs walking. One of our big reasons for moving into the complex was because of all of the security that they had. They do have electric gates on the parking and fob locks on the exterior doors. The problem is that most of the time the doors do not properly close from the parking garage into the complex and the dog run gates are constantly propped open with rocks. It is a great place if you have a dog as the dog park wraps around the backside of the building. Some of the units open up to the dog park.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“The maintenance team of Armando and Oscar are the BEST!! They are amazingly sweet guys who stop at nothing to make sure you and your home are taken care of. Thank you so much gentleman. I know your job is often a thankless one, but you are so appreciated!!!”

— 2727 Revere St · Houston“I am very excited about living at La Maison at River Oaks! Porcha Bailey was my leasing consultant and she is the BEST. I couldn't have asked for a kinder or more helpful consultant! Everyone was and has been a pleasure to work. The assistant manager, Joseph, finished my move-in paperwork and made me feel right at home. Love the people and the atmosphere!”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Very nice staff, apartments in very good conditions, excellent location. I have been living here for more than 6 years and I do not have any complaints. The staff also organize events which help you out to meet your neighbours when you move here.”

— 2727 Revere St · Houston“It has been a real treat moving here. The location jsnidea for all of my shopping and restaurant needs, Porchia and her front desk staff are quick and responsive. Maintenance is punctual, never late. Overall, I give this five stars.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Finishing up our lease and this has been an amazing property to live at. Not only is the staff amazing but the grounds very well kept. Superb location and walkable to many eateries and shopping. If it wasn't for a possible job transfer we would def stay. 5 stars for sure.”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“The staff in the leasing office is OK. However, some people live there are just obnoxious(particular the one in 4026) People who live below us keep reporting us to the leasing office for nonsenses. Leasing office people are willing to help though”
— 2727 Revere St · Houston“Worst apartment I have ever lived in. The floors are paper thin and you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor does, from showering, to doing the dishes, to walking around. Smells of pot and cigarettes regularly seep into apartment from downstairs neighbors and others in the courtyard. Management does nothing to curb any of these activities. Overall the apartment is listed as "luxury" but it is not even close. The facility is cheaply constructed and everything is geared towards being visually appealing at first sight.”
