“SCAM!!! I applied to Hunters Chase Apartments after speaking with one of their leasing agents about a specific unit I wanted. After applying online, they sent me a denial email the next day saying my ESA animal was not allowed there. After digging deeper, I found out they were FALSE advertising on their website about a unit that was not yet available. They told me it was out of their hands that the tenant wanted to extend their stay, but they had a more expensive similar unit for a couple hundred dollars more. They would not match the price either. I asked to be refunded my application fee since I can't afford their move expensive option and they told me it was nonrefundable and they can't do anything for me. I now see why their prices are so low....so they can scam people and take their money!!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This is the worst apartment complex to move in. The management is horrible and the head lady in the office is mean and does not care about any of your concerns. They currently keep turning my air off which I recorded the maintenance man doing multiple times and the only thing he can say is talk to the office which I have kids and it's cold outside. Maintenance hardly fix things so if your are looking for a great apartment complex for you and your family trust me HUNTERS CHASE APARTMENTS IS NOT IT...keep driving by!!”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“The office staff are great and truly care about the residents. Every time I have a maintenance issue they are quick to respond and get the job done. Now all I need is a new dishwasher and i will definitely be happy.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Convienantly located, quick access to I10 and 290 which I love since I do work out of the greater houston area. My daughter has gone to Northbrook high since her freshman year which is why we stay but it's easily accessible. Good office staff and maintanace, maintenance could step up a bit but seems like they are doing their best. Love that they have nightly security and are cleaning up the property.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Witnessed car's being stolen, Woke up to gun shots near my window 1 AM. Roach Hotel! Teens smoking pot in Laundry room after hours and setting fire to paper at play ground, Play ground unsafe, wood broken up and screws missing on the slide. My own car towed twice, paid out of pocked. Manager apologized, but didn't reimburse me. When I moved out, I was charged $ 100.00 for dirty fridge, when it was cleaned spotless when I left.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This place is not worth the trouble or the money at all. The staff is lazy and liars have been waiting for my ac to be repaired for 8 days now. I placed order last tuesday on wednesday i called them to ask the status as no one had even come by to look at it. at that time they admitted they had the work order on their desk and would get the maintenance team on it. by the next day still nothing. I called that evening @4 and they said the guy would be there in 30 minutes to look at it and they would call me to let me know what was going on. They never called me back as usual they never do. I called them and they stated they ordered a part for the ac and it would be there is 24 to 48 hours 4 days later still no part for the ac. I had already explained to them on the second day that my 5yr old daughter has a breathing condition and i need the ac repaired asap for her health. they dont seem to care. I also had an incident with the manager Claudia when i called to check the status of my ac unit. I first let her know i had my late rent notice and was in the process of getting the balance paid in full. then i asked about the AC being fixed she said that they are still waiting on the part (that was third day after ordering it) at which i informed her i work for a property management company and i feel that this issue is taking longer than it should and that its unacceptable and i was not rude or yelling and her response was "if you work in property management yous should know rent is due on the first" with an attitude. That was highly unprofessional and uncalled for. this place is infested with roaches, when i first signed my lease they claimed they have pest control every tuesday yet i have only had them come by twice first time they did it on their own second time i had to request it. still have roaches bad and they do not come every tuesday like they claimed. also parking is horrible they waste your time giving you a sticker that is worthless as every single spot in the complex is reserved and they charge 20 a month for a spot so your only other option is to park on the street where my car has been hit twice now. also none of the gates lock or work properly and the drunks and dope fiends that hang out on the street near the complex come in and sleep on the benches inside the complex at night. I do not feel safe at all after dark in these apartments. I would never suggest this place not even to my enemies this is the worst complex i have ever been to.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This place is trash. Office staff is the worst. Liers is all I can say about the staff. I've call about winow glass falling for 3 months now & till this day nothing has been done. Parking ridiculous. Apt complex charging $20 a month for something that is suppose to be for free. This place is infested by roaches as this what their own extenuating company said. You can call & complain & their response is the following: "You can call everyday if you want, if you choose to do so, WE don't care." Isn't that wonderful, that the staff doesn't care whether you call or not. The ower of this place should care for his property & the staff should care if the resudents have issues as we the residents are the ones paying but the staff seems to think not.RUN, RUN AS FAST YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE OR LIVE IN MISERY FOR A YEAR.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Parking is terrible in this complex. Now we have paid for a reserved parking spot for the month of June last May, but it's been a week and they have not painted our spot to secure it for our use. We have followed up daily regarding this but none was done. They keep saying it will be done today, but a week has passed and we are not getting what we paid for. The receptionist even said that it even though they haven't painted the spot, we still have to pay every 1st for parking, so that means we were cheated for the week they have not done anything due to their negligence. On paper, they seem to be adding a lot of improvements in the complex. They are circulating memos that this and that will be fixed but gate has never been functional at all. Now they will be starting to charge for repairs that should be done in the complex. Just a terrible terrible complex and management. Nothing gets done. Stay away.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Horrible bedbug and roach infestation. Rude management. Maintenance is a joke. Not worth time or money.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I have been a resident for several years and I've never experienced any problems. The office staff has always been kind and courteous. Security is always walking the property, of course every complex will have isolated incidents occur but here it's few and far. I would honestly recommend a friend or family member here. In closing, the amenities are pleasant, grounds are well kept and no roaches or insect problems.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This is one of the worst places. I absolutely do not reccommend living here at all. It is full of drugs, bums, trash, and the front office manager Natalia is a friggen joke. She never does what she says she will do, and if you are a day late with rent' slaps an eviction notice on your door. The laundry facility never works, and the swimming pool has been condemned by the city of Houston. Parking is laughable to say the least. Especially if you work at night and come home around 9. There are gun shots all the time as well. One time a guy just emptied the clip into the fence just Cruz. Bottom line, do not move here.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This place is not worth the money they are charging to stay here! I moved in because it was affordable and cheap and I know, you get what you pay for. I thought it would not be so bad because there was security on the premises and there was a gate but the security was a joke and the gate stopped working shortly after I moved in. Often, the security would sleep in their car. I don't even know if they have anyone anymore as I haven't seen anyone for a long time now. The gate quit working and even when it did the code was written on the keypad over and over so they probably figured, why bother? There are roaches everywhere! It got better the longer I lived there but you can't leave food out, drains uncovered, or food in the trash! They have a person that will come spray once a week if you request it but I have seen this person go in and out in a matter of less than 5 minutes so I wouldn't trust it. There is crime everywhere. I never felt safe and it seems like just anyone can move in now. They just care about the money. I feel sorry for the maintenance. The people here just throw their trash all over the place! I have seen beer bottles, cans, and actual trash laying all around the place on the daily. They go around and clean it up but after hours there is just the same mess for the next day. I have actually seen someone stop right in front of the dumpster and drop a bag of trash outside their car and drive away when all they had to do was get out and walk around the car to toss it! Lazy! If you like drunk -------- who play loud music, drink outside, yell all the time, and make you uncomfortable to be around then this place is for you. If you don't, stay away! And please do not go near the pool! People throw all kinds of stuff in there! Not a safe place for children by any means! The parking sucks later at night but during the day you have free range. I have never had a problem with maintenance fixing my stuff. They do a good job when I have needed them to fix something. They have changed management like 4 times since I lived there so you never know who you will get. Gracie is the only good thing about that office. I think she should be running the place! Oh, and move here if you don't mind seeing police often stopping by, drunks all around, homeless people, and drug dealers on the corner! No one seems to want to do anything about this either. It is really nice to pull into the parking lot and see a bum peeing on the wall of the complex or even better to get in your car and turn on your lights and scar the crap out of yourself and the bum in front of your car because God forbid you back into your spot.....oh no, you must do head in parking or you will be towed. (Yes, they do have a tow truck company that comes around in the wee hours to check because they get money for that!) Last but not least, take pictures and have someone do a walk through with you when you leave. I got charged for things being cleaned that I know I cleaned better than they said I did. I also know they are redoing the apartments with carpet, tile, etc. so the cleaning they had to do will have to be redone after. Just another way for them to make money. Oh, I did forget the laundry. Unless you live with one in your unit, don't bother doing laundry here. You have to use the laundry rooms and let me tell you now, they probably won't work well. They leave your clothes soggy or half/most of them do not even work. I have spent a lot of time talking to CoinMach and they don't even solve the problem. Also, gangs frequent the area and they tagged the crap out of the laundry rooms so that is always appealing to look at. Instead of painting over the stuff they used white paint on top of the black paint and unless you are blind, you can still read the gang signs. You are better off going to the laundry place and using the dryer in the laundry room if you need to but watch your clothes. They may get stolen. Yes, this has happened. Bottom line, it is not safe, there are bugs, people here are dirty (although some nice tenants do live here), bums and drug dealers, gang tags all over, not safe to walk around, parking sucks the later in the evening you go, not worth the money they charge (and it goes up every year), Gracie is awesome, maintenance is great, it can be noisy, and there is trash everywhere.”
“I have lived here for almost a full year. I'm warning anyone who wants to live here now...RUN! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. I have a huge roach and bedbug problem that I absolutely DID NOT have when I moved in. And I do not travel and have not traveled since moving in. When I asked for an exterminator, they told me that I would have to pay for my own. Obviously if I'm living in this poor excuse for an apartment, I cannot afford a $700.00 bed bug exterminator. If I could, I most certainly would not live here! They have also changed management three seperate times. This last time they raised my rent, to far more than I can afford. For $900.00 I could be living in some of the nicest apartments in Houston! On top of that, the crime here is VERY BAD. I have heard gunfire at least four times within the last week. Police officers are CONSTANTLY being called to this complex. Ive now heard of rapes, murders, and robberies. I do not feel safe, even inside of my own apartment. In response to the lady who said she had a bum bang on her door--i had the exact same incident happen, EXCEPT the individual threw items through my bedroom window and kicked my front door in. Petrified, I called 911 and hid as well as I could. It took them 30 minutes to send anyone. THEN I find out there is a cop ON THE PREMISES! I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE!”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“In the year and a half I've been here, so many scary things have happened. Once I had a bum bang on my door for over an hour screaming a name I have no connection with. When I called security, the guard came by and only said "whats up" and didn't stop the man. I was hiding, scared in my closet. I called the cops and by the time they got around through the parking lot, the guy was gone. The cops weren't able to do anything. As if that wasn't bad enough, there were some guys partying around my car. They were putting their beers on my car and sitting on it. My boyfriend went outside and politely moved the car, telling the guys he was just trying to give them more space. We woke up on a Saturday morning to go to work and all four of our tires had been knifed. We had to pay almost $500 for all new tires. The assumption is the drunk Mexican was mad because the "security guard" came by and told them to stop drinking in the parking lot. When I informed the ladies at the front, they just giggled about it. The gates haven't worked for a year now, and even when they did work, the code was written near the keypad so it never mattered. So unsafe. The laundry facilities are never working. We usually take all our clothes to the laundromat. The maintenance men are no good. One guy is good but the rest are inexperienced, and don't really speak English. I had a bad leak coming from a window whenever it rained. When they came to fix it, the guy told me,"Its only a problem, if the rain came in at a slant. But, if the rain comes straight down, it will be ok." Idiot. There was a leak because a piece of the window needed to be replaced. Most recently, our air conditioner/ heater went out on a Friday night. I called the after hours service line and left a message, clearly with my name and number. No one called me back. I spent the entire weekend freezing my --- off. I called again Sunday and nothing. Monday morning when the office ------- were there, they admitted they had a call from me and even knew the time I had called for service... but they never called me or sent a technician!! Incompetence. I should have known it would be like this. Nightmare. I'm so glad I'm about to move.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“this place is nothing short of a joke. their ways of fixing and tending to their everyday duties is a joke, if you have a problem please dont even think to bother the office to put in a request form in.. and when the maintenance guy actually does show after a week of putting in the form.. and they dont even complete the problem and when you ask them to fix it they tell you they will have to charge you... really? the managers are just are plain rude they dont give two Sh*ts about anything except for you having their rent on time.. the landscaping are so horrible you almost break your neck walking out of your unit..i cant wait till my lease is up thats the only hopeful thing about this place”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“These Apartments are a joke, new management my @$$... they do not care about anyone that lives here all they see are dollar signs. seems like when everything is breaking i have to keep asking them to fix it and when they finally do send someone to "fix" it its takes them 5 times to get it finally right and then they tell you if they have to keep coming they will charge...FINE! ill actually call someone that knows what their doing the first time and be gladly to pay them. someone needs to call someone about these apartments. i am also getting roaches when i keep my place ---- and span not good!... the neighbors all around me have no respect running around all hours of the night making noises smoking pot right outside my porch i have kids i dont need this negativity around them. the landscape of this place is horrible i almost broke my ankle walking to my car. there are creepy gangster type men that hang around here. and the gates are always broken.. security is a joke! the laundry room is horrible 2 out of 6 washers work and 2 out of 6 dryers work..”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This is funny!... did you want to make it less obvious by deleting the last review, which was, by the way, written by the manager?”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I lived here for 6 months before getting married. The common areas and parking lot are well kept and my unit was in great shape. The management here changed during my stay and I would have to say it was for the better. The office staff is always willing to help if there is an issue and have been very friendly from my experience. I felt safe here and never had any issues.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Given I have only lived here 2 months I am pretty pleased so far. I'm not sure about the issues other tenants have expressed. Of course the property is not sparkling and new and that is fine, I inspected my unit before I moved in and found it to be just fine for me. It is within my budget, fits my needs and everything is in proper working order. I have not had an issue with the staff, in fact I have found them to be helpful when needed. I have not needed maintenance for anything so I cannot speak on that subject. I work the night shift at my job and sleep during the day. Noise has not been an issues and I have not had any safety issues coming or leaving.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“It has been a few months of living here, it has been difficult dealing with the backing up of sinks and toilets, and doors falling apart with maintenance half --- fixing it. The worst of it all are the bugs. There are roahes and bugs that bite which leave scars WITHIN THE HOME (and I am a clean person with sensitive skin. You can also tell that they have sprayed over things instead of fixing the problems. I've even witnessed them fix something by gluing it to tissue then connecting it to the wall. DON'T MOVE HERE, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“In the eight years that I have been a tenant here, the management team has declined. The current management team are the worst yet. I have to repeatly put in work orders for the same problems. The assistant manager is quite rude and the manager is never available.”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I was interested in moving here because of the cost for the space but I just called the leasing office and the agent that answered the phone HAD to be the rudest agent ever. I apologize if me calling asking about information on your apartment complex is such a bother to you ma'am. I am glad I also checked these other reviews because cheap or not its not worth living in an mold infested apartment”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Pleeease dont move here......such a horible place to say....they have mold in almost all of the apartments here!!!!this place is a safety hazard...when i first told them about the mold all they did was sprayed over it...but then it came back n they still havent came to fix this problem and thats the reason why im leaving at the end of the month!!!!!”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“this apartments cheap but for this place it should be way cheaper. first off office staff is horrible they are extremely rude and charge you all these hidden fees for nonsense the maintenance dont do anything and thats just the beginning.the park is in horrible condition its missing wood and is very dangerous for children.the pool is never open and s also never cleaned it got so bad once there was thick green sheet over the whole pool filled with garbage and was left like that for 2 weeks not including the time it took to get that way .the apartments are not built good theres cheap wood and tile carpet is so thin you can feel the nails in it an they never replace it after you renew your lease like they should.the worst of them all and the most important safety witch this apartment lacks there are robberies and SHOOTINGS just recently a shooting took place two people were shot the reason was possibly a robbery but it is not proven the victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.you shouldnt have to think is the price worth your life? no so please dont rent here there homeless people and drug dealers that are always on the property most obviously dont live here.bottom line if you rent here your at more risk lfe s short why spend it in a hell hole like this .....”
— 10000 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I lived here for a short 3 months in 2008 and as my very first apartment it was a joy, except for the parking. The apartment management had things under control then and got things done in a timely manner back then. They changed management companies and managers on the property sometime between then and 2010 and I cannot say that it was for the better. I would love to write a very emotionally angry post, but I will try to stick to the facts... Move in date was set for October 15th and the day before I received a call saying it would be ready for our move in date of the 21st (we had previously agreed to push back moving into a different one from the month before of Sept 21st so another family could have the one we were originally supposed to have)after I had called the week before and spoke with the guy we signed up with to confirm our 15th date and was assured it would be ready. After much arguing over the telephone about how much money we would be losing if we had to wait another week, it was finally said that we could move into the apartment at the very end of the day which was about 8:30 pm when the workers got out of the apartment, but that it would not be at 100% and there would still be more that needed to be finished but they would make sure to get it done. That was okay with us until it took multiples of calls, letters requesting maintenance, and emails to the office staff and manager to repeatedly put a list of more than 20 separate types of things on the list to be repaired. I literally had to call about the AC twice or more a day because it would freeze up, the men would come look at it and let it thaw out, come back and turn it back on and it would freeze back up within 2 hours. The counters were in desperate need of being redone and that was set up and taken care of (but only the kitchen and not the bathroom) on time. It was about once every 2 weeks or so that 1 thing on the list would get fixed, and wasn't until after January 1, 2011 that the maintenance men were sent to the apartment supposedly for the whole day (that starts at 2pm) to fix things on my list, and to come back the next day to finish things up (as was told every time). I understand that they have other requests and emergency calls to attend to and was fine with them fixing 1-2 small things that could have been done in 10-30 minutes each day or every other day, but up until the day we moved out not all the things were fixed and the AC still didn't work correctly. The parking was fine and easy to find during the day, but was much harder to find after 7pm and this is true of this stay as well as the one in 2008. Some of the neighbors were nice and said "Hi" anytime they saw you, even those that I suspect may have been drug dealers, but they never messed with us and would sometimes help hold the gate open or carry a grocery bag or stroller up the stairs when I had been walking and shopping with my 10-15 month old son and the stroller. The main parking area gate worked about 70% of the time as 1 side or the other might be temporarily broken open. However, the pedestrian gates were almost always kept from properly closing and locking by either rocks in the hole, or being tied open with a wire or shopping bag and being on the end next to one I always made sure to correct it when I'd go through in or out the apartment next to ours was moved into and the occupants did NOT receive the key to the pedestrian gate. The family that moved into the apartment next to ours came in late December during the winter and their apartments heater had not been checked prior to them being given a key. They came home the first night they were staying in the apartment and turned it on after having called for maintenance earlier that morning for a burning wire smell causing them to turn it off. The fire department was called out to check on things because there was smoke coming from the heater which had wires exposed to the heating elements and the Fire Department turned off the breakers to their heater which wasn't fixed for over 2 weeks. The noise outside during the afternoon was welcomed as kids played in the open middle space between apartments, but at night car alarms would be set off at a specific interval of about once an hour and some couples or people would be out walking around or getting out of vehicles screaming at each other and cursing about one thing or another. I had to call the police twice because of the noise of people fighting, once was because the lady was screaming for someone to call for her because her boyfriend had broken her phone and was hitting her. Also for those who do still want to move into these apartments.. Decent on the inside as long as fully prepared before moving in, but don't expect to be able to get AT&T U-Verse here. Yes some or even all apartments of the complex have the ability to get AT&T DSL internet and/or U-Verse TV/Internet, BUT the wiring for the phone lines INSIDE the walls of the buildings are so very old that it is not worth the money to have your "signal" go off and on. Our apartment was at the end of the line coming into and through the building we were in and the worst for signal strength and with the DSL it would cut out for 20 minutes or more at a time. Therefore definitely not for the "Gamer"”
