“Whatever you do, DO NOT move to the Travis in Frisco. Here’s what you would be looking at if you make the mistake of signing a lease here: 1. The traffic situation at 423 and 380 alone makes this an undesirable location. It will probably take you 30 minutes to travel across the street. 2. The management company signed a contract with a predatory towing company (Towed twice in the last week for a total of $700). 3. There is a 100% Certainty that your Amazon Packages will be stolen. 4. Residents here allow their dogs to pee and poo the internal hallways as a standard practice. Nothing better than stepping outside your apartment into a puddle of pee or worse. 5. Hope you like bedbugs. 6. There is trash everywhere. For example, used baby diapers in the stairwells which you have to use because the elevators don’t work. This is the most incompetent management group and everybody that lives here wishes they didn’t. Whatever you do, do not move to this apartment community. Photos will be uploaded shortly.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“I have moved to the Travis in $2022, I love my apartment, and the community, I have the floor plan B9, my rent is $3666.00, last year I seen the same floor plan for $2900-$3100, so I called the office asking to transfer for that amount, and I asked about the color of the cabinets because they are aware that I loved my gray colored cabinets, I was told, you know the cabinets are white, I said ok, so since that didn’t deter me, I was then told that I have to pay $500 to transfer, and said ok, so when the $500 didn’t deter me, I was told that I had to wait 30 days to transfer, I asked would the apartment still be available? The respond was they don’t know, and if the apartment is available after 30 days the price will be $3754. I asked what’s the purpose of me transferring then? I’m trying to transfer while the apartment is still available at that price, why would I transfer to a apartment like mine at a higher rate? And or course after I posted this review, you going to always get a response from management saying to give them a call or etc… that’s what they’re supposed to say.. So now last month, I see my same floor plan priced at $3300 one week, then the prices dropped $3200 the following week, so I decided to call the office again about a transfer to the same floor plan B9, I was told that they will have to see if I can transfer to the same floor plan, I got a call back that I can transfer and the transfer fee is $1000 and then someone has taken the apt. Now another B9 is available, now since they are aware of my interest to that floor plan, the price stated at $3500 plus. While all the others apts prices were dropping, but not that B9. As much money tenants pay you would think they would try to accommodate their tenants, My Cadillac Escalade got stolen 2 months ago, I called the office, they said I need a police report to look at the video, I gave them the police report, I called the office again to see if they looked at the video, they said someone will get back to me, I’m still waiting.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“Do NOT move here PLEASE READ RUN RUN RUN ... I have had countless problems with this so called “luxury” apartment and nothing has been done about it. This building isn’t LUXURIOUS ITS ------ . I wish I would have read the reviews before moving to this building. Please Read other reviews , staff is extremely nice when you’re touring the place. After you move in…they could not care less about any of the residents or the problems they experience. Holli is extremely nonchalant, extremely sassy can care less about anything . I have never seen someone so heartless before . You can tell by their response to other negative reviews… as they claim them all to be “false reviews” by a “disgruntled resident.” This just shows how lacking their ability to take responsibility . I refuse to be SILENCED I HAVE RECORDING - IMAGES - VIDEOS. I WILL BE HEARD . I will expose them every single day. My bathroom roof had a MAJOR LEAK (pictures attached) 1 month of me moving here . How does that even happen? I have experienced this 3xs in total . My bathroom started growing mold they literally just painted over it. I’ve talked with other residents and they too have experienced lots of problems with the staff. Last month two men camped out in the parking garage wore ski mask as they attempted to rob residents . AGAIN NOTHING WAS DONE . Save yourself money and time DO NOT MOVE HERE.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“Do not move here! I moved out of the Travis on June 7th 2022, and I have yet to receive my security deposit of $2700. Thé excuse given by the leasing agents was that "they are catching up on bills" 6 months after move out, HOW is that my problem? Also, The garage hasn’t worked since they opened this building, prepare to get your car broken into.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“This review is LONG, but thorough and extremely important if you’re considering moving to this HELLSCAPE. About a week ago I began writing a review on this building I moved in, (less than a month ago) but after speaking with management, I thought my issues would be solved and I would be able to start fresh. I was wrong. I would like to reiterate that it’s been LESS THAN A MONTH. 3 weeks to be exact. The worse part is, I had yet to fully move in and I was already regretting the move. I chose, to take my time moving in and sleep at my other apartment, where I felt more comfortable, respected and most of all SAFE. When I decided on the apartment at the Travis, I was in a rush to move. I waited til the last minute. I didn’t read any reviews until AFTER I signed my lease and for that, I have no one to blame but myself. Let’s just say every negative review I read about this place, is factual. I’m going to start at the very beginning. I had a locator, Venessa Brown, a lovely woman, find me this unit with a decent deal. I had toured this building the previous year and so I was quick to jump on this deal. When she sent it to me, I applied the very next day. I put her name in the application, and even saw it on my application when I logged back in to pay my deposit. Yet, they are claiming they are unsure what/who she is talking to and therefore, they’re making it hard for her to receive her commission on finding me this place and tainting my relationship with a locator I would very much like to work with again in the future. Once I received my approval it was hard to get anyone on the phone. I tried for a week to make contact with ANYONE in the office. Every attempt I made was during office hours. I called the number provided on google and the other number provided in the emails I received from the property manager regarding my application. In this week, I never spoke to anyone beyond the concierge or the answering service. Which I feel is so strange and impersonal for an apartment building. Especially when many messages are left and not one was ever returned. Finally, two days before rent is due, I get a hold of one of the leasing agents to finally answer some questions I had prior to signing my lease and paying first months rent. Funny timing isn’t it? Moving day (1) I still had my other apartment for about a week month after receiving my keys at The Travis. So I was taking my time in the moving process, but i was sure to make sure to setup my internet through the ONLY company that The Travis provides service through, XcelerateNetworks, a terrible company by the way. I also made sure to reserve a time slot of the Freight/Service elevator so I could move a few of my big items already. When I showed up for my reserved time slot, everyone seemed clueless. The concierge, who never seems to know what’s going, certainly didn’t that day either. When I asked her for the freight key, she had to spend several minutes looking for it. When the key was finally found, I still couldn’t use the elevator, bc someone else was. It was stuck on another floor with someone else’s items still in it. I don’t know if we were double booked, or if the previous tenant just decided to let their time run over, but nonetheless it was an inconvenience. When I get to my unit: - the AC doesn’t work. Could you imagine moving furniture and you go to an apartment where the AC isn’t working? And didn’t for the first 3 days. - The internet doesn’t work. And still to this day, I have yet to be able to use the internet in my unit. I have called and dealt with this company and they keep telling me that I am putting in the wrong password… but it’s a password I’ve had for years and I’ve tried multiple times on multiple occasions. I know I am not putting my password in incorrectly, but this company refuses to help me and continue to charge me for internet I do not use. This may seem like an XcelerateNetwork complaint and not a Travis complaint. But what can I do when this building doesn’t allow me to use any other provider? As someone who works remote… I now have to go find a local coffee shop to work in? Bc I cannot get internet? This is not a livable condition and it makes no sense why a “luxury” apartment would force their tenants to use this one provider that was a 2 star rating… my only assumption is that the owner of the Travis also owns this internet company. That would also explain why customer service is so bad with both companies. But seriously in 2022, how can I live without internet? Not to mention, those lucky enough to even be able to sign into their Wi-Fi connections complain of how terribly slow the internet is. (Pls see other reviews) - My apartment is FILTHY. FILTHY. I came from a luxury apartment to this one, same concept with floor to ceiling windows, corner unit and all, and every few months we had professional window washers coming and clean the windows from outside… let me tell you… I do not think these windows have been washed she the outside since this building was built… no exaggeration (pls see photos below) but that’s that LEAST of the problems… - A. STUCK ON GREASE STAINS?! Like did y’all even try?! Did y’all even try to prepare this place whatsoever besides vacuuming? I tried my best to scrub off the grease stains, but as you can see below, that’s the best I could do… and this is the condition is which I received a 3K apartment in… pathetic. Parking: - Parking at the Travis deserves its own section alone. And the experiences I have with valets here need to be highlighted. Like I said, I RUSHED to move into the Travis and that’s something I will never do again. If I would’ve stopped to read every recent review, this place would have been avoided, bc nearly EVERYTHING I am complaining about right now, can be found in a previous review. The Travis has valet service but it’s not to be used by guest. Which I think is wild. How often are tenants actually using valet anyway? Especially when there is NO free designated guest parking whatsoever. Guest can choose to park on the street, in what isn’t the best neighborhood in Houston, or they can’t pay $10 to park in an unsecured. I really can’t wrap my head around that. $10? Like it’s cover at a nightclub. A great way to discourage tenants from ever having guest over. And location isn’t an excuse but the high rise located directly across the way with similar pricing offers guest parking and allows your guest to utilize the valet service. I came from a luxury apartment in Houston, and we had a garage for guest as well as valet. - Again this garage isn’t secure. Not only is the entrance gate broken, but the gate that separates the paid guest parking from the resident parking is also broken and apparently has been for some time now. (Pls see previous reviews) - 1 bedroom 1 car rule. What?! I mean that’s ludicrous… most people who can afford 3K+ in rent have more than one vehicle. But lucky me, I have a two bedroom, so I should be allowed 2 vehicles, right?! LOL very very very wrong. Apparently since my daughter is a minor and couldn’t sign on the lease, I can still only have one car. SO, if your child turns 16 while living here, hold off on gifting them that car, or pay an additional $100 to be able to park it in your garage that isn’t anywhere near capacity and again, is COMPLETELY UNSECURED. - Valets: Also something I read about in the reviews, in on particular review, I remember reading from a black woman stating that the Nigerian valets treating her like crap and treated white tenants with much more respect. I definitely can say I’ve had the same experience in the 3 weeks I’ve been here, and mind you I’m still residing at my other apartment… so I’ve had few interactions with the valets EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS NEGATIVE. Let’s start with the first valet to be completed inappropriate and rude. I know he works on Sunday and when I asked the concierge to give me his name, she was very reluctant to do so. It was along the lines of Apatha, but I did speak with management and they know exactly who this portion of this review is referring too. On this day, Sunday, May 1, 2022. My sister arrived at my other apartment to help me move, I packed my SUV with boxes and told her to head to The Travis before me as I packed up my coupe with a few extra boxes. She arrived about 5 minutes before I did. She told me the valet was redirecting her and she didn’t know where to park, so I told her to hold off I would be right there. My sister then began circling the block. I pulled up and I asked the valet to park my vehicle. When my sister pulled back up, I then hopped in the passenger seat and I directed her where to park MY car in the garage. As we are walking toward the building to go to my apartment, I notice the valet getting off of the elevator. Smoking was coming from his ears… he had a notice in his hand and he looked at me and angrily said, “IM GETTING YOU TOWED, IM GETIING YOU TOWED” and I asked him why, he responds that he told my sister she cannot park in the garage. I told him, it’s my car. The valet then proceeded to berate me and ask me personal questions, like my unit number and how many number of bedrooms I had in my unit. I told him I would discuss it with management, and he yelling at me, he demands I get on the elevator with him to go speak to management. I refused, he was to irate. I went down separately to speak with someone in the office and while we were waiting for someone to return. He continues to berate me at the front desk in front of other tenants, guest and the concierge. - INCIDENT 2: I am coming home from picking my daughter up from school. To avoid any other mishaps with the valets, I stopped to let him know I do not have my sticker, as I left it on my other vehicle (that I am not allowed to park at my 3K/month residence) I explained to him I was a resident in #XXX. He nodded in agreement, and I proceeded into the garage. After unloading my child and my items and we proceeded to the front door of our apartment. Unbeknownst to us, the valet, was following us all the way to the entry of our place. I didn’t even see him there until I unlocked my front door and turned around to let my daughter in and saw a strange man standing behind her. I was startled, scared, pissed off all of the above. On what earth is it ok for a grown man to follow a woman and her daughter to their front door? I don’t feel safe at The Travis, bc policies they put in place and things they allow. The valet should’ve went to management to report my car if he felt I wasn’t being truthful, not follow me to my car. It wasn’t so long ago a young lady was killed my a maintenance man in her apartment and I take this extremely seriously. Unfortunately, management does not. Concierge - The lady concierge is extremely rude and condescending. Others are too, but not like she is. After the entire debacle went down with the valet harassing and berating me in front of guests and tenants, I asked her for his name and she was extremely hesitant, and unwilling to do so. I had to ask her 4x to write his name down for me before she finally did. Later that day, my sister and I saw her and the valet snickering in the corner, so obviously staring right at us, making us both feel extremely uncomfortable in this place I’m supposed to call home. - On moving day, I reserved the Freight Elevator according to building rules for a 3hr time frame. I show up just a little past an hour in my time frame, so I am running on a time crunch, not to mention, I have movers I’m paying my the hour. When I arrived, I went to the concierge desk to retrieve the key for the freight elevator. When I see the concierge and ask her for the key, she says to me in the most smug, condescending tone “you feeling better today” while making mocking hand gestures to accompany the unasked for comment. It was so out of left field, bc what was she even referring too? The valet berating me? I didn’t say anything. I was honestly in shock, bc I couldn’t believe she felt so comfortable to make a remark like that to me while on the clock. I took the key from her and went to open the evaluator for my movers. The movers then asked me for a dolly to help move. I go back to the front desk to ask for a dolly. The concierge asks me for my ID… mind you, I’ve checked out dolly’s 3 previous times from this same concierge and I have never been asked for my ID. I told her it was in my unit, she gave me a blank stare… so, and I asked her if she would mind following me to my unit to get my ID. She then asks me, “what unit are you in again?” I told her my unit #, she responds, “hmmmmm………. Nah.” So I go up to my unit to get my ID. When I return and hand her my ID she then looks lost for a second, and that’s when I ask her, in the same time she asked me, “are you feeling ok today?” We went back and forth for a while, I told her I found her remarks extremely condescending and that she should remain professional at a place of work, but she didn’t care, the back and forth continued a little more and then when I tried to shut it down and ask for the dolly, bc my movers have been waiting this entire time, she then began to ignore me. After the smug, condescending comments, after I went upstairs to get my ID and after the back and forth… now she is pretending she doesn’t hear me?! She literally put her hands over her ears like a little baby and put her head down and ignore me. She could careless about my timeframe and the schedule I or my movers was on. Why does she feel so comfortable to behave this way at work? I’ve never seen anything like it in my LIFE. It’s because she knows she will get away with whatever she wants. - Since then, when I come into the lobby, if this particular concierge is working, she turns her head in the most blatantly disrespectful way, to let me know she will continue to ignore me. No surprise that management supports this. - There is definitely a culture at The Travis of unprofessionalism and cattiness and they will always team up against you, right or wrong, it will be you vs them. No one here is truly concerned with what you have going on. Which brings me to my next section… MANAGEMENT/HOLLI - Everything I’ve written in this review has been brought to Holli, Property Manager’s, attention. - We have had two separate meetings regarding these issues. The first being over the phone, in which I brought up the original valet incident, the uncleanliness of the unit when I moved in and my other initial concerns. She *sounded* concerned during our first call, but I quickly learned it was all a front. Holli told me she could have the valet who harassed me and my sister removed, as I told her we no longer felt comfortable there when he was working and my family doesn’t want to visit me bc of the hostile tensions from him. Holli said he was contracted through another company, so he wouldn’t be fired per say, but would work somewhere else or at least, have a discussion about his behavior with his boss and get back to me about that. Well he is still very much there every weekend, and I’m still waiting to hear back from her (aprox. 22days) about the discussion she had with his “management,” so I definitely won’t utilize valet as a paying tenant, bc I’m nervous to let someone with so much hate near me or my vehicle. I also told her about the filthy condition my apartment was in when I moved in. She apologized and said she would have housekeeping come and clean it again… she even called me to tell me housekeeping did in fact clean it… yet the same filth spots are still there to this day. - After the first meeting with Holli, I had the second encounter with the valet, and the rude incident with the concierge blatantly ignoring me and the fact that my unit was still disgustingly dirty so I went to her office to have an in face meeting. It was a waste of my time, when I walked in Holli was so smug and patronizing. She already got the “story” from her concierge and she was there to defend this woman ignoring me rather than genuinely even listen to my concerns. The entire meeting was comical at best. ****THIS PART IS SO OUTRAGEOUS IT NEEDS ITS OWN SECTION**** … Holli had the audacity to look me, a Nigerian black woman (obvious by my name), and tell me that the reason the foreign black concierge was rude and condescending was bc she “didn’t know any better because of her culture” … yes, you read that right. This woman said that the black girl doesn’t know how to act bc of her culture… a lack of words for her asinine remark is an understatement. Regardless, let’s say’s Holli’s racist statement was truthful, she is working here in this country, in this culture, should she not know how to conduct herself by now? If not, maybe she doesn’t need to have that job. I proceeded to tell Holli that every negative review Ive read about that place has come to fruition. Holli said she wanted to have the opportunity to investigate and get back to me regarding my concerns, that was over two weeks ago and I have yet to hear from her. - After not hearing from Holli for 2 weeks, I decided I wanted to escalate my concerns to an upper management. So I called and asked if Holli was available. I was told her wasn’t, what a surprise, I then ask a Mr. Deon Smithers to please give me the number to the corporate management company and/or regional manager. He refused. He told me he would first have to escalate my issue to Holli. When I expressed to him that i had already brought my issues to Holli for them to only be ignored, he still refused to give me the number. I then asked him for the name of the management company and i was refused that as well. He told me I would have to ask Holli, who is not available…I asked if there was anyone else available to speak too, he hung up the phone. I called back. He picked up and hung up and this continued for a a few minutes until I decided to stop calling. These are the types of games you get with management at this building. INFRASTRUCTURE - LEAKS?! After allllllllll of this, I come home to leak in my laundry room? What a joke. This place is straight garbage and I wish I never gave them a red cent. When I tell you I’m taking the first train out of the place the moment my lease ends… I’m OUT. - The leak got so bad it’s now coming up under these “wood” baseboard as (video below.) - The Garage entry door is open, the tenant only garage door is broken. There is an elevator that goes down at least once a week. - Lights flicker every time the AC comes on. - The pool is now closed?! Just in time for summer. My daughter went to go take dip in the pool on a hot day to see a red sign from the CITY OF HOUSTON saying that pool is closed UNTIL further notice… the pool isn’t even up to code… - This place is ANYTHING BUT luxury. The walls look like a dark mocha wood but really it’s a peel and stick wall paper… this place is as fancy as the Olive Garden, but doesn’t come with delicious breadsticks… ----, I don’t think it comes with anything good. why are we paying this much????? - This is not my first “luxury” apartment building and I used that term VERY LIGHTLY when referring to the Travis, bc there isn’t very much luxury about it. This place is literally falling apart, management is patronizing, and they don’t give a damn about you. Staff is extremely rude and condescending and of course they don’t care about your needs when management doesn’t either. I wish I did better research before submitting an application for The Travis. I want to warn any and everybody to please say away from this place. There are so many more reasonably priced apartments in this area, with better management, infrastructure, staff, and doesn’t just emit back vibes. I’m at the beginning of my lease and I have a long time to stick it out and I’m dreading every moment of it. I don’t want anyone else to end up in my position. Please heed this advice. And notice that a lot of 5 star reviews are not from actual residence and all bad reviews they claim are fake… they aren’t. I normally wouldn’t want to write a review while I’m still doing business with/residing at this place, but I feel that strongly about warning others.”

— 3300 Main St · Houston“These people are pretty much scammers, they charge you all kind of fees and tell you only application fees is none refundable……then when denied or you cancel your application, they say all monies are forfeited due to a 72hrs has passed. This is clearly unfair and just a way to take peoples money. Then when you do write a negative review, they hit back stating some ------ excuse as you are a disgruntled person who is mad because you did not meet their financial requirements. Matters be, it is understood the application fees are non refundable, but The Travis clearly stole the other fees stating technicalities. Very unfortunate and unprofessional behavior from the Travis. I really do hope the owners of this property are aware of whats going on there and do hope they are not a part of their scheme. Take a look around in the surrounding area and see new rental properties already almost at full capacity, and The Travis, new and good looking property, has many vacancies. Great thanks to their Management and staff’s awful attitude. I would not recommend The Travis.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“I recently moved into the The Travis and my experience has been awesome. From my first visit to the leasing office to my move in date, my leasing agent Kellye Etheridge has been amazing. I had a short window to find a place and Kellye went above and beyond to help me out. I visited the property twice to see multiple units and she was very patient and didn’t make me rushed. She was also very responsive to my texts and calls and helped me facilitate a quick move in. There was a small a/c issue in my unit the day of my move in but Kellye got maintenance to fix it within 2 hours and the property manager even called to apologize. Overall, the building is great, the amenities are beautiful and the staff is top notch. I would recommend this property to anyone looking in the Midtown/Montrose area.”
— 3300 Main St · Houston“Loved that they were taking all necessary safety precautions and everyone was wearing their masks! Also loved the amenities and the prices for these views were really surprising! Will definitely be leasing here next year when my lease is up!”
