“The property and amenities were spotless and smelled amazing. The office team was extremely professional and answered all of my questions with a smile. I also love that there’s plenty of parking and a huge dog park.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I recently toured this community and was really impressed! The hallways are wide and spacious, which will make moving in so much easier. Everything was spotless and smelled amazing throughout the building. I also loved the layout with the different courtyards — it gives the property such a nice, open feel. The dog park is huge, which is perfect for my pup! The office staff was super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the nicest communities I’ve visited!”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Unfortunately the crime here has gotten way out of hand. There have been multiple car break-ins where at least 15 cars are hit each time. They know there is an issue with crime here including apartment break-ins, but will not spend the money on 24-hour walking security. The dog park is hardly cleaned and the garage constantly smells like a sewer due to the dog park. This complex can do better for its tenants.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Location, amenities, staff, and community are all top notch. In addition, they keep working on improvements constantly. As a seasoned apartment dweller, I highly recommend this complex's living experience.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I love living here. Can't beat the location. I can walk to tons of restaurants and shops. The hallways are so nice and quiet now that they have been redone. Maintenance usually does my requests on the same day. Office people are really nice. Waiting for the pet park to get finished but the new mural is super cool and I'll definitely be using the new dog washing machine.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I recently moved out from this building and my experience in general was negative. Many of the neighbors agreed with us but are afraid of posting because of retaliation. WE HATED LIVING THERE! I wish more people talk about their experiences. Morgan Company need to do something. 1- PETS - There are many pets in the building which is great but many of the owners do not clean after the dogs. There is always poop around the elevators and parking. The dog park smelled bad all the time. They are remodeling now. My dogs were sick 3 times from the water on the dog park. (We tested the water). They did nothing about it. There is poop sometimes on the stairs and the halls. 2- Elevators - These elevators are always down. I cannot believe that elevators can be damaged with such frequency. We lived on the highest floor so it was a pain to get home, especially if you have groceries. 3- Maintenance - They usually responds fairly fast to your requests. The problem is that the maintenance crew are dismissive and treat tenants like morons. They make comments like:"you do not know how to use the appliances" or "these appliances are cheap and do not have to clean like the ones on a regular home". They will never take responsibility for anything. It is always the tenant's fault.... The A/C always had some kind of problem. At the end we just had to live with it. 4- Management - They are NOT friendly and looks like they are always in a bad mood. When you go to the office they will not make eye contact with you so you don't disturb them. As per other residents, It seems that there was a nicer manager before the last one's arrival. Also, I do not understand why they have to have such a nasty attitude. The tenants are paying their salary. 5- ROBBERIES - At least 4-5 during our tenancy. The worse is that this happened during the day. We saw police several times and we have heard about an incident a few months back in which the police came to the property and had to breakdown a door to arrest someone. 5- SECURITY - No Concierge or security on property during the day. It seems that there is a number you can call to complain about noises, etc. and if he is on property he will check out the situation. 5- MAIL and PACKAGES - Packages get lost. Almost everyday there was a message from a tenant asking for their missing but delivered packages. I was so sick of losing ours! 5- PARKING- Anybody can get to the parking when a tenant is driving in. Also, strange people wait on the elevator until it comes down to get in. You do not need a fob once you are in the elevator. Just by pressing the floor you are in. 5- Leasing agents - They disappeared one day. There are 2 new agents now. At the moment, they are remodeling the apartments and the building. The pool has been updated but they took off the hot tub. In general: I will not live here ever again... Prices might be lower than The Ivy and The James but YOU Get what you paid For - well you get less...”
“I recently moved in.. Really appreciate the location of this apartment complex plus the affordable rent. However the upkeep of the hallways and general areas like the elevators needs some improvement. Chances of you stumbling upon dog poop in the hallways are high! See pictures attached.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“My husband and I have lived in 6 apartments in 4 cities in the last 15 years and our average stay is 3-4 years but we could not get out of this place fast enough, even stayed in a hotel till our next place came available. This is not a luxury apartment it is the cheapest apartment in a luxury area and we did not know that when we picked it, the joke among residents is that it is where the fake rich people live. Not many of the people we met in that building stayed after their first lease either. The issues- LOUD thin walls and floors you can hear everything from people walking around, music, talking, and toilets flushing. Got real jumpy as when someone drops something heavy in another apartment it shook ours (made the cats nervous too), the doors also slam hard and they are loud. 3 of the 5 options to have your apartment overlook are awful you either get a train, dog park, or the loud pool. The other 2 are the street (best one) or the zen garden where like the pool and dog park you get to watch all of your neighbors. Can't get anything fixed, we had an issue with our toilet had them "fix" it and we left for a bit and came home to a flooded bathroom that was leaking down 2 more floors. The freezer kept thawing from a bad seal and they couldn't get that right either, we had to just deal with it. Can't say anything to management. I took a survey and I was honest and stupidly said they could call me after and when I told them I had loud neighbors they proceeded to tell me the life stories of the people above and below us and then relayed our life story to our neighbors making everything awkward. But they both moved out. On our move out day 4 apartments were moving out and that makes the 1 working freight elevator a pain, and it is normal for at least one to be down. Even when they are up we never took them as the sounds they make are a bit unnerving. Trash- often you find trash in the halls in the afternoon making them stink and if you are lucky enough to live near the trash chute it is often backed up past several floors. Our trash chute handle was broken for our entire 15 month lease. The trash can we were given for the service smelled BAD we kept it closed and put it in a closet till we moved out. Parcel locker codes getting sent to the wrong people is common although I blame the carriers for that, you get to know your neighbors though when you deliver their packages and hope you get yours. We did have several things get sent to the office and were never informed so going down to ask is a regular task. The craftsman ship is bad- holes for fixtures too big, the paint is so thick it peels up, gaps in the fake wood flooring, lights constantly burning out (we opted to not use one kitchen light at all after the 5th burn out), carpet not properly installed so you get fibers coming up from the edges all the time (turns out this is intentional so they can look UNDER the carpet after move out so be sure to clean under the carpet), and I already talked about the freezer. The water heater is not big enough to take a bath durning colder months you need to not do laundry or dishes then fill the tub on full hot till it runs out then wait 30 minutes and fill it the rest of the way. Super luxury. The good- The office staff is nice but you can't trust them as stated. The pool is nice after months of construction though many of the grills don't work. The gym has towels and is clean, but shuts down at night. The area does have a lot to offer but the roads are really bad. All in all we are just happy to be out.”
“I visited this property in hopes of signing a lease for a new apartment home. I was met with cold stares upon entering the leasing office. Instead of receiving a warm welcome, I was greeted with, "May I help you?". Before I could finish explaining what I was looking for, 2 leasing agents cut me off stating they didn't have any of those units available. The thing is, my realtor contacted the property 3 hours prior to schedule my appointment for a specific floor plan. When they talked to her, they stated they had 5 units available. I went as far as showing them the text messages and information from my realtor - that didn't help at all. It's a shame that they didn't even attempt to offer alternative floor plans. I mean, that is their job. It is very alarming the way they treat prospective residents. If you are looking to lease here, I say look elsewhere. Other properties in the area have a nicer appeal and even nicer leasing staff.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“the only thing that is very nice about leaving at 2121 Mid Lane is the location. Everything else from the staff, the facilities, the facility availability and the maintenance is horrible. Every single staff member from the leasing office staff and the maintenance crew are very unprofessional and rude. The hallways always smells like trash and it's very embarrassing when you have visitors. The elevators Are usually out of order a few times a month. Not to mention that we had a few break ins since we moved in.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I loved living at 2121 midlane. The only reason I left is because I was moving to chicago. Camille and everyone are sweethearts and make you feel like you are right at home. the amenities are spectacular and the pool in the summer time is the place to be. Food trucks and get togethers everyweek, It is a great place to make friends. Location is prime, I honestly cant say enough good things about Midlane!”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“So far so good! I have enjoyed the gym, game room, internet/coffee cafe, pool and grilling areas. The leasing staff is the best, especially Lisa! The property is well kept & the maintenance staff are prompt. And I love all the shopping, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Plus I have a great view!”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Been living here a short amount of time of all the issues this one should be disclosed to potential renters. I've learned the 50 gallon water heater is only able to provide enough hot water for about a 13 minute shower. Their maintenance supervisor was nice enough to inform me that this problem is property wide and there is nothing they can do about it. Beware if you are looking for a 2-bedroom apartment as he also said the problem is worse for 2 bedroom apartments. He recommends not using any water including for washing dishes, clothes, or brushing your teeth before taking a shower. However I have done this just to get those 13 minutes of warm shower water. Otherwise, you'd be lucky to get 10 minutes. Just sharing because I only wish someone would have informed me beforehand. I have never had any such limitation in any apartment I've ever lived in.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I moved in labor day weekend 2016 and it is February 2017 now, during this time there have been floods on the 5th floor then later flooding on the 4th floor, the trash shoot has been on fire and the fire department was called, the units have been broken into. The front door seems to never work and people come in and out all the time that don't live there. NOT SAVE AT ALL. There are SCREAMING KIDS down the hall from me that I have to complain about all the time. I'm not even sure the leasing office cares. The staff in the leasing office has changed 3 times already. Oh, and the walls are very thin you hear everything. During this past week, I have not had hot water because of a bad water heater in my unit. I requested a reduced rent for a week and they declined. I really want to break my lease. I would NOT recommend this complex to anyone.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Run, run far far away. Poorly built and maintained complex. Gates are constantly broken so anyone can just walk right in, big issues with crime here. They will say they are working on issues you are having in your unit but never fix or replace anything. Hallways are littered with trash and stairways smell like dog urine half the time, you may also run into dog feces on the stairways so make sure to look down. I could go on and on about this "luxury apartment" but the short version would be to stay far far away. Also, the funny thing is I see Margie posting here on all of the reviews to contact her. When I had issues at the community I spoke to her over the phone and email and then she refused to respond to any of my email or phone calls after that....they're just trying to save face in regards to prospective residents reading reviews. They honestly could care less about you if you have already signed a lease.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I would not recommend this community at all. 1. Gates and elevators are constantly broken. At minimum once a month the elevators are out of service. The gates seem to be down once every week or so. 2. Poor construction. You can hear your neighbors constantly. 3. There is a train behind the community you can hear at all times of the night and day. They say the train does not blow its horn but that is untrue as I have heard it several times. The noise is so bad if you live on the far end where the building backs up to the train tracks, the train sounds like it is in you living room. Luckily for me I live in the front of the building, but I still heard the train. 4. Crime. There were 2 robberies in a 2 week period at this community. There is an on-site officer but he doesn't seem to do much. The most I have seen him do is walk around in his uniform at 10pm when the pool closes checking out the community...other than that, he seems to be useless. 5. The community is kept very unclean at times. The smell of urine, feces and trash is a common occurrence. 6. Noise. The halls are very loud and you can hear people yelling in the halls at all hours of the night....since the hall echoes this sound runs through the entire building. With all the new units popping up, there are way too many options available to lease here. Do not be fooled by the sales pitch, this place is very disappointing for the price you pay. The only thing this community has going for it is the location.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“My experience with 2121 has been amazing! I honestly couldn't say enough good things about the community and staff! I have lived here for two years and LOVE it! My maintenance requests have been completed within 24 hours. The staff is very friendly. They are constantly updating the community areas and host events monthly. I have lived in quite a few complexes in this area and 2121 exceeds my expectations!”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I have lived on this property for 2 years and I must say I am beyond impressed with the constant upgrades and improvements being made to this property. The neighborhood is incredible with the River Oaks district so close. The pool is fantastic. The new package system is working very well (I was skeptical at first). The maintenance staff are a great group of hardworking professionals. The propert manager is truly one of the best in city. Prior to her arrival I was looking to move but she has turned this place around. If you are looking for an affordable place in River Oaks this is a hidden gem. Other properties have door guys and may offer a few different ammenties but you will pay a premium for those in my opinion this is the best bang for your buck. I have read a few other review clearly written by angry residents that I'm sure had unrealistic expectations that have given a false sense of what it's like to live at 2121. Go take a tour you won't be disappointed.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I didn't like this place. It is very old compared to a lot of places in Houston and you can get a much better deal if you look around. I have been searching for an apartment in Houston and took the tour and it did seem noisy and dirty like some people said. At the pool there was one big group of people being very noisy when I walked through and the leasing agent seemed embarrassed. Not a good vibe so I am looking elsewhere.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Do not live here. It is noisy and dirty and the assistant manager will hang up you if you are lucky enough to get her on the phone. Safety is also an issue.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Just moved out of here thank god. They seem to be struggling to keep people living here because of the things mentioned in these posts. It is true that it smells in the hallways from all the pets and garbage and its noisy too. You can hear a lot of the street noise and also your neighbors more than any place I have lived before this. Some people are nice but most are not. A lot of the people seem to have unusual work hours or maybe don't work at all because there are people walking in the hallways at all hours making noise and slamming their doors loud. I was laughing out loud when I read the reviews but really I would be crying if I still lived here.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Paper thin walls. Broken appliances that never get fixed. Poor insulation. Constant noise from outside. Traffic makes it impossible to turn onto San Felipe (no traffic light). Gym is offline indefinitely. Terrible elevators. Smelly hallways. Rude neighbors. Uninterested staff with lots of turnover.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“Don't get sucked in to the friendly sales pitch and the very carefully mapped property tour. They will avoid the problem areas which includes the trash chutes, noisy and dirty hallways, and the garage that smells like a sewer. If you rent here you will realize why the rent is cheaper than other places in the area as you hear a lot of noise and banging from neighbors. Another side effect of the very cheap construction is that you will pay higher energy bills because the places are not energy efficeint. Also pest and trash fees are snuck in to the monthly charges and your rent may be more than what they quote you. And this is mostly for trash valet service that just causes people to leave their garbage in the hallway all of the time which is not pleasant in the summer. They don't seem to do background checks which I thought was good when I was in hurry to sign a lease but realized that this results in shady people all around you. As others said the elevators also are slow or don't work and the pool is crowded with people that let their dogs swim in there with them which is totally disgusting. They don't give reasonable notice when they have to access your apartment which can be difficult if you have a pet or have to work from home sometimes. It is like a bad hotel.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“they do not clean the smoking decks, the pool and hot tub are always dirty, lots of garbage in the halls, management retaliates with fines if you complain about the conditions. This building is very noisy. You can hear every time a door opens and closes, people walking in the halls and dogs barking.”
— 2121 MID LN · Houston“I have been looking at apartments in the area for months and I've seen almost all of them in the area in my price range. I have been on two tours (once with ------- and another with ---------), and once it is time to move this is going to be home. I take these reviews seriously, and you all were right ------- HAS TRANSFORMED the property. I felt at home, safe, and you can't beat the location. ------- and --------- were also so welcoming to my girl friend and I when other properties were outright discriminatory that we were two women - I know, IN HOUSTON, in 2016. I can't speak to the noise issue, but the property and staff are 5 star and I can't wait to live there.”
