“These apartments are horrible i wouldnt let my dog live here the staff never answers The phone maintenance is horrible and the people who live on the property are ------ do not move here if you want to save yourself some stress dont move here we are Moving out ASAP !!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Everything people are saying in the reviews are true!!! Please don’t rent here. Bugs, water coming through the ceiling, floods, management, parking, trash, raccoons, and terrible staff and maintenance. These apartments has cause nothing but emotional distressed and I wish I would have read the reviews before I moved here.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“DO NOT MOVE HERE! These apartments are not what they seem. Pest is so bad I have to deal with ants, roaches, carpet bugs, gnats, raccoons. Also I had brown water coming through the lights and nobody did anything about it. (Pictured below). Also when we had an electrical problem in our apartment the maintenance guy left open wires out for a week straight. The pool has not been open since I've been here which is a year and a half. Walls are thin so it's extra loud! No parking space! No security! Gate messes up ever month! Please don't waste your time”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Been at the retreat since December 2019! Everything was amazing at first. I LOVED it here! However management doesn't stay the same for over 6 months. The office has had 3 sets of new staff since I have been here and of course once you have new staff no one is on the same page anymore! They have all been nice UNTIL NOW, the change is just inconvenient to the residents! The parking is HORRIBLE if you don't have a garage or covered parking. Which wasn't like this in 2019, but 2020 they started allowing visitors and residents to share the only 15 uncovered parking spots they have. Apt also have a lot of maintenance issues. (Nats in refridgerator/freezer, Water running out of sink very slow, a/c going out) and I never write reviews UNTIL TODAY! I have been out of town for 5 days to Florida! When arriving home my apartment was literally TRASHED! Tv screen cracked, Couch dirty, appliances in kitchen knocked over, pictures/decorations on floor, foot prints on barstools/oven/counters/couch, &&&& poop and piss on my bathroom floor, dresser, AND KITCHEN COUNTERS! PISS AND POOP ON MY KITCHEN COUNTERS WHERE I EAT!!!! Smdh. Blinds are ate up and moved around, everything is just FILTHY! & I'm SURE it was ON MY BED! Omg I am PISSED! I live on the third floor and when looking around I noticed the attic in my closet was open so was my closet door. So I'm pretty sure it was a raccoon in my apartment having a WHOLE party while I was gone! (Apartments do have raccoons... only OUTSIDE though...I THOUGHT) Smdh. I am Truly disgusted and I feel SO violated! He has been EVERYWHERE in my apartment! & I had to pay for a hotel at 11pm at night, I am a 25 year old female. In cypress station. (If you know then you know..) All because the "Emergency" line did not and still has not called me back yet to help assist. This is VERY upsetting and distasteful. But I meannn... the apartments LOOK nice though! Update: Staff Is HORRIBLE! Except Mariam. Manager Rosa refuses to talk nor help residents regarding our concerns! She states that she is, "too busy." Pool Is NEVER opened. In the two years I have been here. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST MOVING HERE!! SO HAPPY MY LEASE IS UP!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“The property was a lot nicer when I first moved in and the office staff and manager were helpful and friendly. Now there is a new manager and new people in the office and they do not care about your problems. They never answer the phone or route the calls to the answering service for maintenance so if your sink overflows and floods your apartment, you have to walk the property to locate maintenance to help. There is a huge lack of concern for anything that goes wrong and you can never reach anyone in the office and when you do, they seem to have an attitude and come off as if your bothering them yet when rent is due, they want you to pay your rent on time. Yet you have to pay out of pocket to have their appliances fixed because they lie about when they are going to have maintenance come and if you log a maintenance request online, they will mark it as work completed when it's not true. Then you have to log another request in and by that time, you have already paid out of pocket to have someone else come out due to foul smelling water sitting in the dishwasher for 5 days and better. Do not rent from here because they will not care or be concerned about any problems you have nor will they tell you that the downstairs units were flooded during Harvey and the upstairs neighbors are the reason your sink overflows from time to time due to their plumbing and putting greasy foods down their drain! I can't wait until my lease is up so I can move out!!!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Manager She never there!!! She Show us that she don't care About the property!!! Staff very rude never knows anything!!!! Maintenance very sorry!!!!!!! Can't never come to fix anything.... please give a new manager and staff ASAP!!!!!!!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“I moved in this past April 2020, & I have be UNHAPPY from day 1!! My apartment had over 11+ things wrong & over 5 present day that haven't been fixed. Not even 2 weeks had gone by of me living here & BOTH my Neighbors 1 above me & 1 beside me are INCONSIDERATE, LOUD Music playing all hrs of the day, STOMPING, SCREAMING, SLAMMING DOORS, Kids CRYING, BANGING on the walls, WEED smell coming through my Walls, & Windows & the list goes on, this is ALL DAY EVERY DAY! I seriously complain several times a week, to get told they BOTH have an Eviction Notice, but due to Covid-19 they're PROTECTED!! Soooo I have to DEAL with being DISTURBED, WOKE up OUTTA my Sleep, all hrs of the day, because they don't give a ----, on top of ---- in my unit NOT getting fix, Wowwww. On the 3rd of Aug my apartment was shot up, YES BULLETS came through the WALLS & WINDOWS, damaged my Furniture & other person items, I had 2 flat tires, 5 other cars were shot up as well. I asked Rosa the Manager if I could pay my rent late due to what happened & she told me NO, smh. I've talked to the GM Janette about my Neighbors as well as things being fixed, & NOT being able to take advantage of the AMENITIES i.e. GYM, POOL, oh & my OWN Garage Spot, all the reasons I chose to live here. I'm being told that In & Out Towing have set rules that 1. We can only have 3 visitors a WEEK 2. We CAN'T PARK in front of our OWN GARAGE or we'll be towed WTF, we're all ADULTS & we can only have 3 guest a week, UNLESS they park OUTSIDE the Gate, ---- ita NOT SAFE INSIDE the Gate, so imagine OUTSIDE on the street. Present day Aug 12th, they JUST put new Windows in 9 DAYS LATER, my Blinds & Screen STILL have BULLET HOLES in them, I had to say something to Maintenance 3 days in a row before they covered my windows. I've COMPLAINED COUNTLESS times about the Drainage in my kitchen DAILY W/O me using the sink, or washing clothes, I've NEVER used my dishwasher, but the sink GURGLES & SEWAGE SMELLING Water comes UP & OUT ????. This place is a Damn joke & the STAFF isn't any better. Mariam the Assistant Manager has tried to help, but her position will allow her to only do so much, but at least she tried. I mailed my June utility money order due to being out of town, called to see if they received it, was told by a temp that's NO LONGER here YES I have the letter, but for some reason the money NEVER was applied to my account, & now the amount is hanging over my head, because THEY was CARELESS. I pay to much money to NOT be Happy, or to feel Safe. I've called EVERY DAY since my place was shot up to discuss getting OUT of my Lease & all I get is Vmail or the phone just rings, smdh. If you VALUE your Life & don't want to LIVE UNHAPPY...... #DONTMOVEHERE ????”
“I am I resident at The Retreat at Cypress Station. I have had problems with my door for over a year and it has progressively gotten worse. I placed a work order in July 3, 2020 and it has still yet to be resolved. Rosa, the property manager told the asst manager to tell me that I would have to BUY a new door if I want it replaced. She's refusing to even speak to me, she won't answer the phone, won't return my phone calls or emails. I have been a resident here for over 3 years and I have decided not to renew due to how I'm being treated. This issue is clearly a foundation issue- the maintenance members even agreed with me this is a foundation issue. She's seen photos of the door and simply refuses to help me. I've never been treated so poorly in my life.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“My ac has been out for almost 5 day they don't care I've called Corporate office they have not gotten back with me management is poor n don't care I have a child that has issue I told the office staff they still don't care I regret moving here all together”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Since they had time to delete my review from their page but not time to come fix my refrigerator, I will post my review here. I've been living here for about two months. My refrigerator broke down three times already. It takes maintenance days to get here that I had to throw away some of my food. This is my THIRD request and they are not willing to replace this old refrigerator just put a band aid and keep moving. Parking is a major issue so add an additional $30 to your rent because you will end up paying for covered parking area and visitors will park out on the street. The hallways and stairs are super dirty like they never pressure wash them. It's embarrassing to invite someone over. We pay $30 for vallet trash because it's mandatory. Can't leave the trash outside because raccoons come and knock it down and make a big mess. My car garage got locked and had to wait for a whole hour for maintenance to come unlock it and take my car out. I was even late for my appointment. It's been a very stressful experience and just moved in. For such a big complex they need to have more maintenance staff available. Some days they only have one maintenance guy running the whole property which is not fair for them and the residents. With all the money this apartments collect from garage rentals and parking ports they should have more maintenance staff since they are not willing to change this old appliances. I can't wait until my lease is up!! BEWARE??”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“I moved into this complex in January 2019 from Virginia for my new job here and I have a one bedroom. I just signed my second lease in January 2020. Overall, the complex. Is okay but the new management is not great. The good stuff: 1. Compared to apartments in Spring proper or the woodlands, the prices are pretty reasonable. My first year with them the rent was 758. My current rent for my second year is 778. 2. I have a standard style apartment meaning that it is not renovated and for me it's just nice enough. When I was looking at apartments I was not looking for anything fancy or "extra". For someone who is tight on money and looking for something very basic this complex was fine choice for me while I wait for my boyfriend to move to the area. 3. The location for me is ok as it is close to my job but it is also very close to 1960 which is typically considered not the best area. However, I have personally not had any negative experiences with people in the area or the complex. The bad stuff: I will preface by saying many of my complaints have been a direct result of a change in management. 1. The one bedroom apartment doesn't have enough storage. There is no front/coat closet. Besides the bedroom closet which barely fits what I have in there, there is no additional closet or storage space. 2. The complex changed management in maybe august 2019. No one even informed the residents of this change. There was no email sent out or letter notifying the residents that management has changed. The only way I found out was that I had started seeing a couple of new faces in the office and one day I was getting a package and the new manager introduced herself to me. To this day I have no idea when exactly they took over. 3. Resolving maintenance issues have taken a lot longer under this management than the old management. I do not typically have many maintenance issues but the few that I have had, it has taken more than 3 days to resolve. 4. Under new management, parking has become confusing and frustrating. With the previous management there used to be small magnetized signs above individually reserved parking spots. Since new management has taken over those individual signs have been removed and generic reserved signs have been placed on the posts underneath the car ports. Because the signs are not clear, I have had many issues with maintenance personnel, contractors, other residents and guests park in my reserved parking spot that I pay for. In addition, this management has contracted with a new towing company who is supposed to resolve parking issues. I have had to call them several times and each time no one has answered and there is no telling how long it would take for them to get to the complex to remove a vehicle from my spot. I have also had many issues with cars parked in the fire lane which blocks my spot along with a few others so if someone is parked there, residents can't get in out out of their parking spot. Lastly, it is hard to tell which spots are even reserved. When I have guests it is hard to tell them where to park because with general signs it seems like all the spots are reserved but I know that isn't true. 5. The pool is not open all year round even though they pay to maintain it all year round. This has been true for both managements. In conclusion, if you are someone who isn't looking for something fancy or temporary, it's ok but I would certainly caution having to deal with the new management.”
“For those of you checking these reviews in search of a new place to live, wondering weather you should take up residence here; I'llmake it easy for you: Don't! I'll elaborate for those needing more convincing. I've lived here for about 9 months now and every week it just seems to get worse. Let me begin with the most recent headache this apartment complex has bestowed upon me and it's other tenants. I'm the parking lot of this property lies over 100 covered parking spaces. Easily enough for each unit to have one to themselves. Recently however they've began charging to park under the metal overhangs as a ploy to take more money. Now you may be thinking,"Just park in an uncovered spot." To which i will reply, "THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 15 UNCOVERED SPOTS IN THE LOT. Fought over between 50 different cars mirroring rabid dogs fighting over a scrap of rabbit post apocalypse." The second to most recent reason I will be leaving at the end of my lease came to me around 9am Sunday morning. While most might complain of the small ----- wielding Dodge Charger driver that revs his loud exhaust so everyone knows how cool he is; I was actually more annoyed from being woke up early in a sunday by a couple physically assaulting each other on the grass in front of my apartment while yelling profanities at one another. Sure you may think it was like any other 5 minute dispute between lovers or you could assume the worst which may be a ten round mma fight lasting 30 minutes. Well my dear reader, you'd be wrong. 3 HOURS people. From 9 till noon. To put it in perspective, if I would have be James Cameron's "The Titanic", I would been in the credits by the time they stopped arguing. I think you get the point by now so I won't elaborate on the noisy partying upstairs neighbors, or the children screaming next door through the paper thin walls. No doubt at this point you may be thinking that it doesn't get much worse. And it shouldn't. But it does. The street and neighborhood surrounding the complex is constantly riddled with homeless or just troublesome car owners are greeted in the morning with broken car windows or missing property. Not to mention the ever so often car sitting on four cinderblocks and the rare car missing an engine sitting in the road. Luckily for this paragraph you don't have to believe me, you can check the crime stats for the area and be scared away for yourself. Among all the terrible neighbors, the constant overflowing dumpsters, and the inconsiderate rules put into place; there shines a bright light in the form of the apartments maintenance staff! These guys are on top of it! I've never had a maintenance request open for more than a couple of work days before my needs were met. If it were up to me these two gentlemen would be running the complex and or a Fortune 500 company. Whatever money they are making I can confidently say they are not being paid a fraction of what they deserve as I have never noticed and $250,000 vehicles around. I hope this helped you make an informed decision on whether you would like to move into these apartments and I'll summarize my point for those of you still with me. There are dozens of better apartments within five miles, all within the same price range. I don't even know the people reading this but I can without doubt say that you deserve better than to live here.”
“DONT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!!!! After an entire week of battling with the office I am forced to take legal action against them! I was on vacation and my vehicle was towed. Well I come to find out that the office manager Norma never added my carport back on after I renewed with them for another year!! When I went to the office to clear up their mistake Ms Sandra tells me that Norma was fired and that it was out of her hands. How IRRESPONSIBLE and INCONSIDERATE!! Not to mention that my mailbox was broken into and it took TWO months to get a replacement door!!!! I have FORVER paid my rent on time and have NEVER given the apartments so little as a complaint! My vehicle had its sticker! Had it's current registration! And was in its correct location but because of lazy office staff I now have to chuck up a $800 tow bill!!!!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“What an amazing property I have been a resident for a year and about to renew my lease again! I have only had 2 issues in the whole year and were taken care of immediately. I would definitely recommend this apartments!”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“I visit these apartment and they are very beautiful. The price is really good for this area and the office staff was very thoughtful of all my needs for my new home. Very close to freeway and omg they have a pond. I cannot wait to move in.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“WORST APARTMENTS EVER!!!! DONT MOVE HERE!!!! My apartment got flooded called them 4 times didn't care. Rent is over 1000 a month, poor maintenance, poor staff at the office. Got a lawyer to sue them. People smoking marijuana, raccoons everywhere, worms, roaches, all kind of insects inside the apartment.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“These apartments are not safe at all. There's trash everywhere. They never clean the pool it's always dirty. Very loud neighbors. People use storages as a place to fix cars. Staff is very rude. They take weeks to fix something. They never answer the phone. People are always ringing my doorbell and when I go and answer it there's no one in there. Someone kept trying to open my door. Gates are most of the time broken. Very bad service. Maintenance man kept looking inside through my window. There's no privacy. Rent prices are very high for the area. Many people have left due to all this. I do not recommend these apartments. This new staff has really been so rude uncaring and unprofessional. People in the middle of the night are always outside playing very loud music and I wake up to hear people yelling at each other arguing. I see people jumping over the gate all the time. I can not wait for my contract to be over so I can leave to a safer cleaner nicer place.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Not sure where to start. I applied at this complex on 4/27/19. I was completely honest about my past rental history and was told I'd have no problem getting approved. I submitted all the forms and paid $220. I was told I'd have to demonstrate I made 3 times the rental. Three days later I was told I was approved for a one bedroom because my income wasn't high enough for a 2 bedroom. This is where it starts to get weird. Yes I made enough for the current price I would pay, but not enough for the current market value rate. This came up out of nowhere and I didn't see this in writing anywhere. I actually suspected they were making up this stuff as we went along. Keep reading. So then Emily tells me just get a co-signer with the additional income and pay $60 more. Or I could just get a one bedroom. But when I said okay to the one bedroom she tells me no, I'd have to put down some more money because her boss Angela wasn't going to hold it until my move in date. Plus my application is only good for 4 weeks. I get a friend with additional income to fill out the app, she's only needed for the extra income. We submit all the forms and days later Emily says, it's not good enough, have friend fill out more and submit more. I spoke to Angela, the manager, who told me I was approved. But 3 days later Emily comes back to me again and say the same friend who I only needed for the extra income has something in her background and they can't approve her. It's not a felony but there's still an issue. Oh and btw, they do take felon. WTF!!!!! Oh and let me put the cherry on top.... Emily calls me later to say my application was kicked out by the non felon rejection and I'd have to reapply. It hasn't been a month. Today is 5/21. Angela seems to be honest enough and so did Emily at first, but this is a blow by blow account of all the attempts to have me pay more and more money. If they weren't going to approve me why string me along for almost a month? There should be some accountability here. I'm not going to rant and rave about how I was cheated, but I'm not going to be quiet either.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Honestly I wasn't going to say anything but anyone that is looking to move into this apartments need to know. I lived there for 3 years and they have been through two managements. The new management is super unorganized. When the water is turned off to be fixed in the neighborhood they do not give you a heads up with a email or anything. They loose your packages. I have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER had a issue with simple things when Denise was in the office. She never played about rent, but she showed compassion for each and every person on the property. New management do not have those qualities and they lack responsibility for other people stuff. I wish I could give them 2 stars.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“I just recently visited this property and happy to say I will call this home in October. Despite some of the previous reviews the office staff has been super friendly and found me the floorplan I was interested in on the floor I wanted. I am new to the area as I am being transferred from my job to the area and found this property to be very close to my job. The highway is easily accessible and close to local grocery stores.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“It's a very very bad cummunity , it use to be good at first, now they renting anybody You see trash every where people smoking marijuana , loud music is like you leaving in the ------ hood these apt supposed to be luxurious but let me tell you don't wasted your time and money on this apartments, on the weekends you can't sleep people drinking and smoking in front of my daughter window with loud music, I call the office next day and all they said is call the police they said they can't do nothing about it but they do take your money, the security guard at 11 pm his taking naps any body can come in and break the windows and steal your belongings. Management is horrible they don't help you at all they don't care about their residents.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“Stay away if you can. The management is so unprofessional. I always come in here with problems that never get resolved. I had a serious issue with my apartment and lease and leasing agent Karen just laughed in my face. They say the leasing manager isn't there and lie because i've Called before hand and as i was pulling in after work there the manager was walking out of the office. They always basically have an excuse for something and just lie about everything. Overall they are just so unorganized. They need new management and new staff. I can only imagine how much they'll make up and charge me when i move out. Probably no deposit back. My deposit went from $250- $1000. Someone explain this to me. I can't wait to move out ...”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“All they want is your money. Beware. By the way, raccoon problems are very real. I went back to look at the apartments again, but was greeted by this little fella in the swimming pool area Again they'll act friendly and put on their friendly faces, then pressure you to put a deposit down. You're just business for them”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“The apartment complex Retreat at Cypress Station (Houston, TX) misplaced/lost my 60- day notice to vacant letter. My move-out date was supposed be 03/31/2018, however due to the carelessness, unorganized and unprofessionalism of the office staff, (Dawn, Denise, Meagan, and Angela- who is now the complex manager, my move-out date is now 05/09/2018. My normal rent is 1070.00 for the month of April 2018 I must pay 1417.00, that is 347.00 more than my normal rent due to their careless mistake. Angela (the NEW office manager) and Marlon offered me another apartment to make amends, however, they requested a 250.00 deposit, 500.00 transferred fee and 1269.00 1st month's rent, totaling 2019.00. Someone please tell me how is costing me more money amending this issue due to their carelessness. It's a nice complex to live in and I never had any problems until now, however, please save yourself the headache/heartache.”
— 18200 WESTFIELD PL DR · HOUSTON“The property overall is nice, I love the views. I have a massive two bedroom for a reasonable price. I have two complaints and this is as a current tenant. They do not have visitor parking which is a huge inconvenience. They have a roach infestation .... you have to constantly request weekly pest visits in order to get rid of it. I also have a issue with property management , she (Denise) is very unprofessional and not genuine at all! She was super sweet when she toured me around the property .... all the way up until I signed my lease and moved in. I had multiple issues where I had to go to cooperate for action to be taken. Please be advised before moving in that she is not the best property manager. go read other reviews about her!!”
