— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“The staff is the worse . Tracy and her daughter are the worse combo . You get dry biscuit and corn . They don't know how to run a place they're rude . They find issues about anything in neighborhood you can't enjoy yourself when you pay rent . It's small the smallest things . They need help . Cheap price isn't worth dealing with those girls .”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Never move in here!!!!!, their rent amount seems fair, BUT they will get you when you move out they kept my deposit and did a leave walk out without me!!(who does that?) and they said the apartment was in bad conditions, and charged me in my credit report $700 dollars. horrible management and will play you dirty like that, they knew if i walked the house out they would of seen it was in good conditions”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“I have been a tenant here for 5 years now. At first i dint mind living here but as the year went by I was eager to leave. The maintenance office staff are rude unprofessional, the leasing staff are also rude. I have only had my carpet change once after renewing my lease, I was told that after we renew our lease our carpet would get cleaned. Well that's a lie, I have to pay out of my pocket to get my carpet clean with out Blue Bell reimbursing me,,SMH They will also cut off your water with out even notifying you, the building are old and when it comes to fixing up something in the Apt they do a crappy job, I had mold coming out in the up stairs restroom called maintenance to get the issue fix, Well come to find out the issue was not fix all they did was paint over the moldy are..I left it alone and dint call to complain because of the unprofessional people they have working there, I just knew nothing was going to done after the first attempt. They will let any person rent here and the neighborhood is not safe. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS!!”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“I'm a current tenant here , I've worked in the apartment industry since 2009 and by far this has been the worst place I've allowed for us today , work orders are done poorly , there's one or two maintenance men that I'm ok with them to enter our home , they are very organized and clean . The office staff is not all good or friendly , I've tried to speak directly to the guy that is in charge over the maintenance team and a girl named Mandy would always give me reasons why I just couldn't get to him , I have a full time so does my husband and it's hard to just take time off to step in a office and walk out from there still unsatisfied . If you would like a new carpet you have to be 5 years tenant , they check if you've paid your rent on time , they check for how ever many lease violations you have . They turn your water off with out re checking if paying Was dropped off . Why em I still here ? I'm close to work , my kids have grown up with the rest of the children in our neighborhood , Hopefully we can be home owners by the end of our lease next year , If not then I will look somewhere else that I can be happy and take our money somewhere else that would be appreciate it to have .”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“I currently live here and at first I thought it was nice place to live. However that quickly turned into a nightmare. My unit constanlty floods due to bad plumbing . Im renting the 2 bedroom townhown and the plumbing in the walls is bad or outdated I have water stains on the sheetrock and instead of them fixing the issue they just replace the sheetrock . Which I am worried about mold. Also the property management is racist if you are black they harrass you about your visitors. My neighbors are --------- and have parties all the time playing Tejano music and they still have yet to do anything. Save your money and rent somewhere else. HORRIBLE”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Lived here several years ago and loved it. The unit was spacious, and even had a fireplace! Although Blue Bell provided a gas stove, we had to purchase our own refrigerator and pay our own utilities. Repairs were fixed quickly, and the grounds were well maintained. The area was pretty quiet when we lived there. Loved the old trees. The kids were bused to and from school (instead of Goodman Elementary, we had to drive), and there are several restaurants and shopping venues nearby. We left because we wanted a bigger unit, but they kept giving us the runaround, so we bought a home instead.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“DO NOT MOVE HERE! THE MEADOWS ADVERTISE A POOL THAT HASNT BEEN OPEN FOR YEARS NOW. I LIVE HERE FOR 5 YEARS SO ITS BEEN LONGER THAN THAT. THERS ABSOLUTELY NO GRILLING ON YOUR BALCONY OR PORCH OR YOU WILL BE EVICTED!!!!!!!!!!!”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Does anyone know if bluebell village works with broken leases?”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“I visited this property this morning as a prospective tenant. The leasing agent was very nice. I viewed a 3bd/2ba duplex with garage. The space inside and back yard was nice. The stove was a gas range and ancient and you also have to provide your own refrigerator. The rent is priced right but the water bill is a bit high. You also have to maintain your backyard, but that doesn't bother me because it is small. I just wanted to see what the layout was like and the leasing agent explained that there are various floor plans. I wouldn't want to rent the one I viewed but I'm still very interested in the property. There is a park, playground and pool. I like that it has more of a subdivision feel versus apartment complex. I gave security and maintenance 3 stars because I haven't had any real experience with either. I have driven through the property during the day and at night and haven't seen anything that would make me not want to live there. Hope this helps someone considering the property.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Lived here for many years because I was saving up for my house. I have to say that the apartments are infested inside with roaches and ants. Outside there's always lost dogs and cats. The streets inside the apartments are HORRIBLE condition and they kept raising up the rent and never fixed them. There is also a lot of robberies, assaults, and domestic violence in the community..you will often see couples arguing or young guys fighting. I do NOT recommend this place to live.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Well, lived there for a year and it's been great. I have not had any problems. As matter of fact lease is up and ready to renew again. Managment is great and any problems are taking care of early next day. As far as our neighbors, they are not loud at all. Guess it's good to know them, so when you are going to have company over, it doesn't bother them. Keep up good work!!!”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Update 5/10/13: Blue Bell Village does not care about keeping their residents and they provide horrible customer service. I had an issue w/ my bank- I have automated bill pay which writes monthly checks to be disbursed monthly for my rent as well as my water, well this month my check was not disbursed properly and I immediately corrected the issue and went to the office to explain my situation as it is and will be an isolated incidence and my bank assured me that it would not occur again, the lady was unsympathetic. I demanded to speak to her boss, who was also unsympathetic and strictly adheres to their "new late fee policy" which was implemented in Jan. I tried to explain that this would not happen again and its not about the late fee (less than $50), its about good customer service at this point. I explained I have rented in some form or fashion for about 20 yrs now off and on, around the world (I am a Navy Veteran) and I have never been in a community that did not "work" with me for unseen isolated events. The manager Michael S. was unapologetic & states it is their policy to strictly adhere to their policies. So felt it is in the best interest for everyone to know that this is how this community values and treats their residents- as numbers and policies. A few weeks ago I was away for a 12 hour clinical (I am a nursing student) and I had someone come over to take my puppy out while I was gone. She texted me about the big dog next door to my house that scared her. I didn't think anything of it b/c I have new neighbors and I though I did hear a dog. Well 2 days later (Saturday) I took my puppy out and just then saw the big pit next door charge and his whole head came through my very raggedy fence. I have already had 2 other maintenance calls on this fence. Since it was Saturday, the answering service took the msg. Nothing happened to correct this issue till I went in personally and told them to come and fix it. They finally came, the next day. It was a huge inconvenience b/c I could not let my dog out or anyone for that matter for fear that vicious dog was going to come through. I told them 3 times if anyone or thing gets hurt b/c of that dog, there will be trouble. That didn't prompt them into action. I did tell my neighbor about his dog and he thanked me for letting him know and he did put his dog away so no one did get hurt. Thank God. _____________________________________________________________________________________I have been here 2 months now since Jan 1, 2013. I can honestly say it's good. The lady in the leasing office was kind and helpful. When I did my initial walk of the house I did notice 1 of the toilets had a leak. I asked that it be fixed prior to me moving in the next day which was on Sat. I picked up my keys and headed over to my single house. While I waited for the moving truck, since there was nothing in the house, I opened all the windows, & I noticed the maintenance man walking up. He did not knock, he just came in. Since I saw him, I guess it was not a complete scare. I said "well come on in" when he entered. He apologized and said he wasn't aware I had moved in already. I guess my car in the drive he parked behind didn't clue him in. Lol. The house was very clean when I moved in. No complaints there. I had all new carpet and freshly painted walls. The cabinets are old as are the stove and dishwasher, but they are clean and work properly so I can't complain about that. P.S. you need your own fridge when you live here. That kinda sucks. My neighborhood is quiet for the most part. Only families on my lil cul de sac. I haven't seen many wild running dogs like mentioned below by someone else. Just on 3 occasions. Pretty normal activity for this type of area. Nothing I have ever wanted to run from though. Next issue was the hot water heater made loud noise and since it was just on the other side of my bedroom and bed, it freaked me out at night. I mentioned it to the maintenance office. When the same guy showed up, he said he knows of these problems and explained why and said he would replace it, and he did promptly. Every little maintenance issue has been resolved very timely. He was just messy w/ both issues and I let the bookkeeping office know and the lady said she would talk to the head of maintenance about it. She has been very helpful and courteous in all situations. Things I do not like: My house does not have a sprayer in the kitchen sink. I peeked in the house next to mine after they moved and noticed they have one, so I guess some houses do and some houses do not. I do not like the trash service or collection method. I think the property would benefit and look a lot nicer if they had uniform trash cans for the residents to place out by the curb for pick up. As it is now, residents place bags or trash cans out by the curb. I guess I have grown accustomed to the look of it, but the first time I saw it, it looked horrible. I did see a small dog tearing into someones trash on a different street as I was driving around. It just looks bad to look down the street and see piles of trash at everyone's curb. They do have policies that trash can only be put out the morning of trash day, however, trash pick-up can be very late. For instance trash was not picked up till after 4 pm last Friday. With all the wind, trash was blown everywhere. I also think the garbage disposal in my house sucks. When you move in, you are provided w/ a booklet that covers a lot of topics. I read it and I noticed a section that listed what you could and could not place in the garbage disposal. I thought how funny b/c all the listed items that could not be put down, I have ALWAYS put down. Well sure enough if you peel a carrot and place the peel in the disposal, you will have a back-up. The 2nd time maintenance came by he asked what I was putting in it and said I could only put certain cooked soft foods down. I was thinking, then what's the point?? But I took his advice and now put nothing down, its just there to brush crumbs etc down and I have not had a problem. I just think they are very old and need to be updated. Overall I can not complain- even though the above seems to be complaining, it is not. Just the facts as I see them. I will cont. to do updates as I need to.”
“Worst year and a half! First the woman in the leasing office is a liar. We looked at some of their units while I was pregnant, she made sure to drive the long ways around, never showing us how ------ this place really is. She also made a big deal about telling us "the rent would never go up, it hasn't gone up in 50 plus years and that's why they have stable families here", blah, blah, blah. We've been here 18 months and had our rent raised twice already. People speed through the neighborhood at all hours blasting music. there is always loud music coming from different houses until late hours of the night. (they can't do anything about it because they don't own the homes around us, even though at the time of leasing we were told all the homes here are blue bell property. Our apartment is infested with ants and roaches, also nothing done about it except we were given ant bait stations, and told we "just have to deal with it". There are so many stray dogs I'm afraid to walk outside sometimes. We've had several water leaks, causing damage to our personal property. mold that took two months of me complaining and writing two letters before it was removed, improperly. gates that are always broken, doors that won't lock. On two separate occasions I've had maintence men walk into my home, unannounced, without permission. Our cabinets are unsanded pieces of plywood with hinges screwed to them. The well water here is so disgusting we have to constantly clean the screens on faucets because they clog with sediment. The women in the office are all rude, except for one, DeeDee. You have to call at least 3 times before anything gets done about any complaints, if anyone besides DeeDee answers the phone they just keep telling you to call back later. And now my toddler and I are left without running water for the 4th time in the last 6 weeks, with no warning, time limit, or apology. The ONLY good thing about this place is that we are only 5 minutes from I-45, and a short commute for my husband to work.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“My bf and I will be moving in this weekend and so far it seems very nice. Like the 2 reviews prior to mine say Mona is super nice and helped us with any questions we had and I had quite a few because this move is a big change for me and with all the horror stories of Houston I've heard, Im a bit nervous bout the move. She didn't hesistate to show us around and show us the neighborhood and all that it has. I have a good feeling about this place and I will be back to update my review if anything changes whether it be good or bad. I hope its all good though. 12-18-11 Well Im a month in and the only complaint I think anyone would have is if you were lucky enough to get a noisy neighbor. The whole neighborhood area I live in seems so quiet and nice then you hear my neighbor and its like how'd I get so lucky haha. Its not horrible but some would find loud bass music and loud conversations oustide for the world to hear a bit annoying. Not to mention the drama that comes along with it but I just keep to myself and avoid any confrontation because besides being noisy and crazy my neighbor is not rude or hateful so it could always be worse. So as of now its still not a bad place. On another note they are old buildings so make sure when and if you move in to check every plug and fixture that may need replacing. 3-27-2012 I've come to notice all the rules and policies don't mean dirt in this place. Tenants are breaking them left and right and no one does anything bout it. The noise is bad and I can't wait til our lease is up to leave.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“i love this place, i live in a townhome, feels so like home, i lived here for about 2yrs, but only reason have to move is downgrading, but i would love to stay here!! neighbors are really nice and get along with. staff is great, especially mona on main office! so shes right, ask for her! you have almost everything around you, restaurants, walmart, home depot, you name it!! less than a mile! i seriously would recommend this place, my only thing would be that they need to put newer appliances!!”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“This is a Awesome place to live....i grew up here n all my family members live here!! they love it..i love the staff they are so nice.....although there r some bad they dont over rule the good....but theres bad everywheres u go...i especially love the leasing office..if u deceide to live here ask for ----...say ------- sent u”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“When I moved here, this was a nice place. Then a year later, they started letting in trash. The music drove me crazy, the neighbors constantly playing the music loud, in their homes and cars. Managment would never do anything about this. The people living here now, are in and out of their homes all day and night long. People are selling drugs, break ins are happening, and the neighborhood has just gone down the toliet. It's such a shame cause it really used to be a nice area to live in. 3 years ago, I would have given this place an A rating, today, I give it a F rating.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“We have been here for 3 years too long. The management has to literally see something happening before their eyes to believe that something wrong is going on. I had to complain three times about the A/C before a maintenance worker was sent to go actually go on top of my roof to check my A/C unit. Then, the management told me the A/C wasn't functioning right.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Been here now 4 years & love it! Very quiet; the only sounds of other tenants that can be heard are when they're entering or leaving their unit. We have a back yard big enough to enjoy & small enough to maintain easily with the freedom to enhance it as we like. The front yard with its mature Oak tree, shrubs & hedges is maintained by Blue Bell. We each have a garage to use for our own vehicle or to do the American thing & store our "stuff"! Many of the staff are residents themselves & a great many of them have been in their positions for 10 years . We've found them to be capable, professional & always ready to serve quickly & willingly. The duplex is comfortable & the location is convenient, roughly half-way between downtown & 1960--very close to Rts 45 & 249. Certainly a bargain for the money--the best kept secret in Houston!”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“My wife moved here while I was on active duty, was nice and the staff was great. Anything that broke was fixed quickly, good price and water was included in some units. We were first in duplex and then in apartment, not the big ones, but the ones with 6 or so to a street.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Worst two years of my life! Truly inconsiderate noisy neighbors that don't have to follow the rules. My bedroom and the basketball court are synonomous. Rules are not enforced--management looks the other way. Why not--he gets to be in peace in his house. Would not recommend.Would have lived here longer had I not been living in the middle of a jungle. Never lived like this before and hopefully I never will again.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“I have lived here for 1 year and a half and there is no place like home. It is very nice and the management is always open to fixing any thing that goes wrong in my duplex. The approval process was very easy as I have really good credit. I have ofter told the management that I am very happy and when it came time to renew my lease they gave me 1 month free to use anyway I wanted to.”
— 9660 VETERANS MEMORIAL DR · HOUSTON“Have lived in Blue Bell Village duplex homes and the Meadows at Blue Bell Apts. Maintenance of both properties is good. The Meadows at Blue Bell Apts. are an older complex, but the apt. is roomy and spacious and overall a good value for the rental rate. However, I did learn through a friend of the victim that the very last section of the complex, adjacent to the very back gates, had been burgularized on more than one occasion. My advice--don´t lease at the very back section--it´s sort of closed off from view from everything else which makes it a target for this sort of thing. I personally have not had any problems at any of the complexes with any crime and have not complaints. Upkeep of grounds is good. Pretty quiet. No problems with neighbors or anything like that. I have recommended a friend who now lives in Blue Bell Village and is happy with her unit.”
