“I'm back. And guess what. My comment is still the same from a year ago. This is a great place to live. My uncle really enjoy being here. Unfortunately he stumbled and now with the point she has to move. But that had absolutely nothing to do with the leasing office the women in the leasing office are beautiful women inside and out they helped my uncle to the fullest of their capability. I would refer to this place to my worst enemy. That's how much I love this apartment complex. If ever I'm in need of an apartment to live in I will run straight here. Please keep up the good work this is the best apartment complex I have seen in this area”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“-0-0-0-0-0 STARS!!!!!! --- Now today is extermination day, again. It is now 11:09 am and no one has come. Call the office, no answer. Go to the office, both worthless leasing agents sitting in there just like last week. They don't answer the phone. So the exterminators come whenever they feel like coming. the agents say they are not responsible when that is a lie. YOU hired them to exterminate and tell residents, oh well, they'll come whenever they want to come. Who tf does that? If no extermination is done today, I will break the new lease and gladly go to court. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. ANYONE BELOW WHO SAYS IT'S LOVELY AND PEACHY CREAM MUST LOVE LIVING WITH TRASH, RATS, TRASH EVERYWHERE, FLOODED PARKING LOTS. AND IGNORANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL LEASING AGENTS. 4/29 Day 3 - NO STARS & NO EXTERMINATION. I've bought 3 cans of reach spray in 3 weeks smh. Can't cook without roaches everywhere. Can't eat without roaches coming out. Broad daylight, crawling up walls, dead on the floor when I walk in the kitchen in the morning. DISGUSTING COMPLEX! 4/28/21 Day 2 - NO STARS! Not one word from management. ROACHES EVERYWHERE!! 4/27/21 Day 1 - NO STARS! - ROACHES EVERYWHERE, ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!! I've used two new cans of roach spray in 1 week!!!!! Know what the apt manager told me?? To buy the brown stuff cause it works better? Really? Calling corporate tomorrow. Roaches so bad walk across the stove when it's on 400 and of course, die. I can't even cook because as soon as I turn my back, there they are. If I walk into the kitchen 20 times, I'll see roaches 20 times. Same thing as the bathroom. Now they're in my living room, dining room, office...I've asked the management to get someone to exterminate. The manager did not give me a time that the exterminator was coming so when she came, I wasn't ready. She said she would come back in 2 hours. 2 hours later I go to the apt office and management tells me, Oh well, the exterminator lady left for the day. So now I have all kitchen items stacked in my dining room and living room, everything out of cabinets including in bathroom. And they expect me to leave it like that until next Tuesday?? HORRIBLE MANAGMENT. NO BETTER THAN THE LAST ONES. This is day 1 of no extermination and my whole apartment in disarray until next week Tuesday. I will post here every single day I have to live like this. SO REGRETTING RESIGNING LEASE. Please believe, the only reason I did is because of convenience. I though I could deal with all these issues that seems to never ever end. These apts are getting worse and worse. Raggedy streets tearing up tires on vehicle, always stink outside, ponds nasty brown and green, no one even goes to the pathetic pool, wake up on any day and have no water or no hot water until 5pm. The mail box so jacked up my key is twisted and about to break, the gate never works, and they will be in the office but will not answer the phone. Don't let it rain, the entire parking lot is a body of water. You do not want to move here. Not one resident have anything good to say about this apartment. Management does not care about ANYTHING!! 11/18 Guess what?? No freaking electricity!!!! I IMPLORE YOU TO NOT MOVE IN THESE RAGGEDY APTS WHERE THEY TURN OFF THE WHOLE APT ELECTRICITY THEN ACT LIKE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON. I WORK FROM HOME AND HAVE NO ELECTRICITY!!!!! AND ANY GOOD REVIEWS ARE THEIR FRIENDS AND BLATANT LIES. DO NOT MOVE HERE! If you like water, hot water, no roaches, no shooting regularly, do not move here. 0 stars. I regret I signed a year lease. Stupid me. Apartment was not clean when I moved in with roaches everywhere. Apartment literally overrun with roaches. You wake up one morning and the water is off. No notice. Last weekend no water for two days. This week, no hot water since Saturday. Illegal. I've never experienced such blatant neglect.”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“The apartments have went completely down. The toliets stop up after it rains. The parking lots floods to the point you have to park on the streets if you know that it is going to rain, to avoid your car getting flooded out. Hugh potholes, roaches are horrible, no matter if you are clean or not. There are several dope houses in the complex, you would think with all that money, they would keep the property up. It is a good place to live if you need somewhere to move to really quick, because it seems like they except any and everybody, but I recommend that you don't!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“Get the facts & the truth from the City of Houston Police Reports for this property! Crime galore!! Apt break-ins, car break-ins, drug dealers = theft, burglaries, robberies...!!! THESE ARE THE FACTS from www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/stats2/htm - 2011-March MS Access Database for 9800 Hollock St .. Management has NO MONEY for the maintenance of the units or the grounds; they are currently using vacant apartments (which there is an ample supply of) for parts to maintain the occupied apartments (walk around and notice the missing a/c units). It s a dirty property! Trash filled parking lots; pools are algae and duck poop filled! Management staff and maintenance crew is bad; nothing constant in the past four years. The most recent manager, Dolores, has a bad attitude and doesn't care about the complaints! She/they blame everything on the Owner and the Supervisor for not supplying them with money, so bc of the insufficient funds, they give you the run-around about everything! Worse, the crime is constant! Constant break-ins, constant gun shots, constant drug deals in the parking lots etc No security, NO SECURITY GATES...!!!, broken gates, broken fences !!! The lake is simply a detention pond; beyond poor drainage, flooded parking lots, flooded-out cars do not move into these apartments !!!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“I've been living in The Lakes Apts. for almost 3 yrs. The only problem that I've had is the a/c. You have to turn the a/c up so it can get cold in the master bedroom, but another then that it's a very nice place. I do not work in the apartments. It do floods over there when it's rainy, but that's all. When you have a problem with any thing maintenance problem they do come out in fix it the same day.”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“You know the management wrote the last three reviews. Please these apartments are horrible. When it rains the hole complex floods and dumpsters float. Maintenance has changed over 3 times. The manager and maintenance man were sleeping in the show room and made out half the time in the office. There is always trash everywhere and even the dumpsters are always filled with trash. If you need a place to move and don't want your background checked, move here the staff will move you in with the rats and roaches!!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“Just writing today to let you know I love my apartment. A while back I had to downsize and the Lakes is not at all downsizing to me! Yes, smaller living quarters, but the grounds and the lake at the Lakes give me the feeling of a big subdivision. I wanted to be closer to my daughter and grand kids and the Lakes was a perfect location for me. I love to go out to the lake with my grand children and feed the ducks and just talk about life. I love relaxing in the pool with the lake in the background! What I would like everyone to know though, is that the staff at The Lakes is GREAT! There have been some turnovers, but the crew right now is the best fit ever! I am always greeted with a friendly smile. Even while just driving past the office, I can see the ladies waving at me, which makes me feel good and safe at the same time. I like that they pay attention to the comings and goings of people! I am very happy with my apartment, neighbors, surroundings, etc! I hope to stay for a long time at The Lakes!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“It makes me laugh how people want everythng for nothing. These are apartments people. which means you can not control who lives next to u. Stop complaining and if you remember you live in Texas there are roaches everywhere. and rodants. deal with it or move somewhere and beWILLING TO PAY THE PRICE!!!!!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“I have been here for over ayear. Great location, pricing, management.”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“I needed a reasonably priced place to live not far from the University, so I found "The Lakes". The manager seemed nice (as they usually do). The apartment was average, but clean. I signed a 1 year lease. Upon moving all my furniture in on the first night, I discovered there were ROACHES. I immediately reported this to management. They said the apartment was exterminated prior to moving in, but what I discovered is that they had a lapse in pest control and the day I moved in they had just made a new contract with pest control. The pest control came the following Monday and placed traps. That did about nothing for the immediate situation so I was forced to go to Walmart and buy Bengal roach spray. That seemed to work at least. The manager said she would reimburse me for my expenses. The next problem I had was living in close proximity to POTHEADS who smoked in front of my door and DRUG DEALERS. There is alot of pot smoking going on in the complex. I reported the activity to management, who told me they were in the process of evicting the dealers. After a month they were gone. After my neighbors above moved out, I noticed noise in the apartment above. It was scratching, scurrying and gnawing sounds mostly above my bedroom. After a week or so I reported this because it seemed not go away. Not long after the report, I saw a mouse in the kitchen. At the moment, I thought it was only one, but I was sickened by this so immediately went to Walmart - again - and bought a glue trap for. I set up two in my kitchen. The following night, really late I heard something rattling around and squeaking in the kitchen. I had caught not one but TWO mice on the same trap! At this point I brought this to managements attention and said I wanted out!!! I had been living in the complex for 5 months at this time. After a day, they said I could move out with 30 days notice, but would still owe the cancellation fee which is like 80% of the monthly rent and not be liable for the remaining rent due in the lease. I thought that was rubbish, but I know they realized they were in the wrong by not providing adequate pest control and letting drug deals go down on their property. I DO NOT recommend this property to any decent people who just want to leave somewhere clean and peaceful. Pay a little more if you can and live elsewhere!”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“I have been living here for about 4months now unfortunatly I have a year contract with these people. the location is fine, I see alot of cops coming over ever so often. the lakes has a man made lake which is inpressive at 1st, but after a while you see the big picture the lake is nasty they could spend that money get ride of the lake and the stupid ducks and build something we all can really use, like a play ground for our kids, recontruction of the parking lots have holes everywhere, get the place pest free, I can't even go to the kitchen at night cause it is so nasty.they want me to come get the stuff that killes the roaches myself and pour it myself. hum, no.the fitness room that was to be open a month after I moved there, like for anytime use with a key and all that never happened. the pool area needs new concreat because it's coming apart. I want my contrat to end already so I can move out. the safe is nice, but the complex is not.”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“Do not listen to the positive comments... living there was a nightmare! The apartment complex itself was nice, however the other apartments in the area (such as Indigo Falls) are the problem. The people that live in the surrounding areas would jump the fence and at often times even walk right on the property because the stupid gates were always left wide open. My neighbor from downstairs had her door kicked down while she was at home with her children - defiantly not a secure place to live. In the middle of the night my fiance and I would hear ongoing gun shots and one man was even murdered on the grounds not too far from my own apartment. The continuous crime there was a joke. Our "security guard" was merely paid for making the renters FEEL safe however having a guard one night a week did not do much justice. We also had a serious problem with flooding in the parking lot. At least 5 cars were towed when it rained for more than a few days straight. The Lakes definitely lives up to its name. Many cars were either stolen or have the gasoline taken if you were lucky. For your own safety DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS.”
— 9800 HOLLOCK ST · HOUSTON“I just moved here and it is a great place to live. The office is very helpful and maintenance has been good considering. It is the nicest property in the area!@”
