“First off, this is not an apartment complex - this is a condominium and we love living here. It is close to everything we want - shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, freeways. The service provided by the building maintenance and security has been excellent. There has NEVER been a bedbug infestation and the laundry facilities were closed down because no-one used them - All units have laundry connections and most have washer/dryers in place. We converted the laundry rooms to storage rooms which could be sold/leased, making the condo money. The pool and workout facility have been maintained very well and the units are designed to allow much better utilization than many of the condos in the area. We hope to remain here for years to come.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“I have read some of the reviews on this site after someone informed me there were some nasty statements on here and I am very disappointed in the way some people write such false statements . 2400 McCue are condominiums not apartments. They have a great staff that works really hard for the community. If you are renting a unit at this community you should contact your landlord or agent for repairs in your unit. The staff is there to maintain the building and are willing to assist when they can. I've had the pleasure of meeting Pam and Joy. They are both polite, helpful and professional. As for bed bug infestation; there are no bug issues in the building. The laundry rooms were not closed for bug issues of any kind. If there was such a problem at 2400 McCue as one writer stated, why remain there for four years. Staff taking kickbacks for repairs to your unit or for contractors; that's a joke. Use some common sense and come up with a better lie. By the way, they have pest control treatment available weekly for free if you request it not because there is an issue of bugs; but because it's a preventative measure. Sometimes very disgruntle and/or hateful individuals write such horrible untruths to make themselves feel better with the attempt to hurt others. It's always best to seek the truth for yourself. If you thinking of purchasing or renting check into the community yourself and don't believe everything you read on these sites. I love it here and do not plan on leaving anytime soon. I don't usually write reviews but I felt I had to write this one. Thank you for taking the time to read it.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“BED BUG INFESTATION. The entire 3rd and 4th floor is infested with bedbugs in the attiic and ac Ducs. It started in laundry rooms that used to be in the 3 and 4th floor that's why the closed them down. Management is fully aware. That's why they will offer to fumigate your unit once a week for free. That's not enough. The problem is spreading fast and that's why I left. Also Pam Collier and Joyce Borrow whom are the property managers are unprofessional and rude to residents. They are also dishonest. They get kickbacks from companys they hire to make unessary never ending repairs. That is why the HOA is so high. STAY AWAY!!!”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“I would like to add those comments about my experience in regard of my stay at McCue 2400 and specifically in apartment 412 which belongs to S.D, the land lord of this apartment. My wife and me did have an agreement to stay in her place for 6 months starting October 10,2011 But she broke the agreement and asked us to leave by end of February 2011. Her reason was that my cooking with curry which happens to be a main ingredient in our daily food causes ,as she believes, smell that damages the apartment walls and furniture! When I leased this property from her, there were not rules against cooking with curry which happens to be a main ingredient in my food, and apparently she was discriminating against my race and ethnic background. There is nothing in our lease agreement that prohibits me or my wife from cooking with any type of spice. Food smells are not considered damages to the property. She is renting her apartment to different tenants who belong to different cultures and some may use curry for cooking. The curry may leave a smell in the apartment but it goes away in few days. This is a part of the business risk she had to take as a Landlord when she leases a property. I think she was the type of person who is very picky and mean on everything starting from electricity utilization cap to the apartment maintenance. RHQ Internatioinal visitor to Houston, Texas”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“The location is wonderfull and the building is so nice inside with a nice pool and club room!”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Two weeks after my husband and I had moved into one of the first floor units, it rained and our entire apartment was flooded with water up to our ankles. All of our belongs some still in boxes got soaking wet. When we indicated to management that we wanted to move a unit on a higher floor, management tried to get us to drop the issue. When we pressed them on the issue and my husband demanded that we be relocated to a different unit they acted like the request was unfounded. They did volunteer to have a moving company move our belonging to the new unit but then to top off an already bad situation, the moving company they hired stole my diamond necklace that my husband gave me when we got married. Again, the management company accepted no responsibility for anything. My husband and I got out of there as fast as we could. I thought when we moved in that it would be a wonderful place to live seeing as it was brand new and in a prime location, but my happy dreams became nothing but nightmares.”

— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“I'm here as a corporate tenant and I don't think my company is getting its money's worth.

Doors that won't latch, door knobs that come off in your hands, noisy AC, crumbling tile and grout work, inept repairs to caulking, trash chute that hasn't worked for 2 months, funny smell in the hallway, AC that needs frequent recharging and repair, are just a few of the problems I've encountered in four months. At least the AC is noisy enough to drown out the neighbors TV, crying kids and domestic spats.

Noise echos around the courtyard, and it seems like everyone talking on their balcony or splashing in the pool must be on your balcony.

Forget about asking for repairs, I've made 3 requests over four months for something that should take 10 minutes to fix. Who ever those folks are and what ever their purpose in hanging around that office is, its lost on me.

Don't count on courier deliveries being made to your suite either. I've had two "intercepted" by office staff, was never notified tehy were here, and didn't figure it out until I complained to the senders.

Pool is small, but is cleaned regularily, I'm sure this is to benefit condo sales and renting out the empty suites. Suites are ordinary inside.

There are plenty of parking spaces, and a security guard is present in the mail room from 6 pm to whenever (if he isn't playing billiards), and I haven't seen any evidence of previous commenters garage security problems, or crack heads roaming the corridors but if I was a thief or a crackhead determined to get in I don't think it would be difficult.

When we moved in the property manager assured us there were no reserved parking spaces, but now I see three near the elevator are marked as reserved, and the managers are posting notices (in crayon) that these parking spaces are to be left available for their owners.

Management comments (in that positive posting) about adding a billiard table and big screen TV in teh lobby are are silly. Those features aren't in my suite, and I dout I'd be allowed to sit in the lobby late at night in my jammies watching the big screen TV, eating Doritos and drinking beer.

The alleged business center is just away to fill up space they otherwise can't sell or rent.

Is this a condo or a hotel? Must be a hotel because no one seems to stay very long.

The building looks nice on the outside.

If it wasn't for the hassle of moving, I'd tell my company to find me a suite in a different building when the current lease expires. For the amount this place costs, I have higher expectations of quality and service than the management here is capable of providing.

”
“The units are lovely in design, but poorly insulated for noise. I currently rent a first floor 2B/2B unit and the noise from the owners walking around in the unit directly above mine is enough to shake glasses in my cabinets and wake me up at 5:30 am every morning when this person gets up and starts moving around. And when they vaccuum? It sounds like someone is rolling an elephant around up there. My unit also faces the inner courtyard where noise gets concentrated and carries far. Most of the time, other tenants are considerate and keep it down outside, but whenever there's a patio party occurring, you're going to hear it loud and clear. Sure, some noise is normal for apartment living, but even as apartments, the rent here is pretty significant for so much noise. And now, these are condos for sale. Before you plunk down $220,000 for a unit like mine, you might want to ask about the noise--or ask to see the unit at night when neighbors would be home and stomping around...”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“We had major problems with the previous management team, but opted to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt. This place is the perfect location and looks great. The new owners began with good improvements - security in the garage, no more fire alarms in the middle of the night. But that was only to make the place look good to potential owners as they converted them to condos. Now see what the new owners have to offer and it has convinced me that I would never want to buy here, much less rent past my lease date. Parking security has all the basics, but the guard never comes out of the mail-room and has left the gate open every morning for the last 2-3 weeks when they leave at 6. A motorcycle has been stolen by dragging it out of the garage while the guard is there. In addition, the workout room maintenance has me baffled. The most used equipment in the room are the treadmills. 2 of the 3 have been broken for over 4 months with no repairs even after repeated complaints. Finally, the water pressure in the building is unacceptable. I live on the 4th floor and I have to choose my times to take showers, do laundry, even fill my coffee pot. Unbelievable. Good luck if you buy here. Live on the lower floors and join a health club..”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“These new owners are great. They completely fixed the security problem in the Garage. Have a security guard from 6P.M. to 6 A.M. every day. Wrapped the Parking deck in iron fencing and installed cameras. In addition they've put in a pool table and big TV's in the clubroom which is NOW open to the residents 24/7. Installed a free coffe/expresso bar. They have free Sat buffet with a chef. They are also the most active Cono Company in Houston. They've sold over 500 Condo in the Inner Loop in the last 2 years.

I know cuz I bought one and am thinking of buying at McCue. I'd rather be payin off my mortgage than by landlords. These are good guys and that's coming from a satisfied customer.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“You can spot it a mile away. A group who plans to do a condo conversion has written a review for themselves. Wait until all of the banging bothers you from construction in neighboring apartments. Or until you are kicked out of your place to accommodate someone who wants to buy your place despite the contract you have in place. The manager wasn't "taken care of" she was smart and probably stayed with the previous owner rahter than tough it out with inexperienced condo converters.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“New Owners took over October 1,2004. Wow, They sent out a questonaire and found out how no one liked the manager. Bam, she was gone. They really read the answers to their questions of how the management could do better and Bam, things started happening. What a difference having some guys who care running the place. There's a complemenatry bunch on Saturday's with a chef from some place. Wowee somebody actually cares. By the way they replaced the maintence guys also with first class staff who actually do work orders within 24 hours. Now this really is a great place to live. I hope they go condo cause I'll be the first customer.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“This is the worse place I have ever lived!!! You will never meet a happy resident. As soon as their leases are up everyone moves out, so good luck getting to know your neighbors! The Management is probably the reason not to live here (by the way, I know for a fact that 2 of the positive reviews below were written by the management!). There are 2 female managers and they are extremely incompetent (unless you are a good looking man). They will not assist you and will mock you when you try to tell them about a grievance you have with the apartment or maintenance. I have never met any 2 people so condescending and I have to sit back and remember they are only Apartment Managers after all! The maintenance is not existent! You need to wait an average of 2-4 weeks to get anything done!! You might as well fix the problem yourself so it will at least be done. As for security, there is none. We have had a couple of incidents with multiple car break-ins and even cases of cars completely stolen. Nothing has changes in terms of security! If you bring this up to the Manager, she will just tell you that you are living in an area where break-ins are prominent and need to deal with it as it states clearly in your contract that they are not liable for security. Lastly, this should just be a corporate apartment since that is what they cater too. It is a shame, because it is a nice looking complex, but I will never liver her nor recommend it. My happiest day was telling the management that I was not renewing my lease even if they offered my great specials!!!!!”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“This place sucks; I can honestly say I hate living here. Don't expect to get anything fixed unless you make SEVERAL requests to the management. I have seen mice in the halls and the yards. Who knows what's hiding behind the walls! The place is dirty, aside from the mice; I've seen dog poo & other liquids all along the concrete floors that have not seemed to be cleaned. There is no security anyone can get in there. All of the security methods are for appearances only. But, it doesn't seem to detour robbers as cars are broken into constantly.

If looks are your thing, then living here is for you. The apartments are beautiful and distinct for Houston. It's a real shame that the managment can't get there act together to make this place a better place for the residents.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“You will hear and see things like "concierge" and "business center". You will also see a generally good-looking property and apartment (never mind the stuff behind the walls or the ridiculous electric bills). Don't be misled by empty promises. There is NO concierge and now the business center is only open during business hours??!! Well at least you can swim your problems away in the foam covered pool - uncleaned for weeks at a time after material from adjacent construction filled the air...the maintenance staff is either too lazy or overwhelmed with work orders.

The property management team says all the right things...and never follows through. In fact, when I call to check on the progress of a request - they're almost annoyed that I'm bothering them. Ask the leasing agent who just quit if any of this is true.

And be careful parking in the garage after 9:00 pm - the theft and even strange men exposing themselves to women are not uncommon. They've made no attempt to bring on a security service to protect it's tenants or their posessions - apparently $8.50 / hr is too much for the budget.

And finally - don't ever expect a call back from a leasing agent....I mean property managment team member. They are much too busy trying to lease open apartments rather than taking care of the customers they already have.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Beautiful apartments - terrible management staff. You might as well open up your own account with home depot if you want immediate service. Business center is fantastic if you don't mind standing in line to use one computer and in a room without a/c after business hour. Most ridiculous elevators in all of North America - they take about 35 seconds to go 4 floors and look worse than the elevators hanging off of buildings under construction. Good luck!!!”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“I have been living at McCue for the past couple of years and honestly if I could purchase my place I would. The office staff has been nothing but great to me along with the maintenance staff. After reading some of the reviews about mc cue it surprised me that anyone would have anything negative to say about this place. This is a great area and a great place to live!

”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“2400 McCue has alot of conviences including a great laundry service. The gates work most of the time unless a guest or resident bumps them. The elavators are great and easy to get the groceries up to your 4th floor apartment. Noise is sometimes and issue but not to be unexpected given the density of people living there. It is better than most. The garage area, grounds and common area are always clean from trash. Overall, I like the place and would recommend it to my friends.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Good points -
Quiet, close to Galleria, nice simple clean interiors. Kitchen fittings - stainless steel, halogen cooking top,

Bad Points -
Car park flooding, small pool, noisy AC when in bed room. Washer/dryers not included in price”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Living at 2400 McCue has been wonderful! I am going on my 3rd year and still love this place like I did when I first moved in. The apartments are have such a cozy feeling to them, you feel more like you are in a little home not some "boxy" apartment. The location is great and the building is very unique. The staff in the office is wonderful, they have had a couple different leasing agents but they always have someone that greets you with a smile. I know there are so many new places out there to choose from but McCue is my home....”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“I lived at 2400 McCue for one year, and during that time, the garage flooded, walls began to leak, and the staff was hired and fired faster then they could get residence. HOwever, I entail those experiences with normal apartment living, the reason I moved was not for any other reason then security. I wanted a prime location, secure residence with "normal" neighbors. Towards the end of my stay with 2400 McCue, myt vehicle was broke into while in the "secure" parking garage. I reported this to management and to the police, neither really did anything. The security cameras in the garage would have caught the criminal, but they are never on!!! The complex uses it as a scare tactic. The gates were broken so the criminals got in without any problem and the security they have on property was an live in police office and newsletter. Some security. Needless to say, I left 2400 McCue with less respect then when I arrived.”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Nothing works. Maintenance can´t fix anything in less than 3 tries. Parking garage floods every time it sprinkles in Houston. Car burglaries are rampant. Hoodlums roam the parking garage and interior halls. Entry gates are often broken. Doors that are supposed to be locked to secure entry into the building are unlocked and accessible by anyone off the street. Gym equipment is constantly in ill-repair. Office staff professes to want to help you but does nothing. Call the office about noise? They´ll mock you behind your back, the security guard will never be called, and nothing will change. Dogs bark throughout the night...every night. Never met a happy resident. But met lots of unhappy ones. I have never had a horrible apartment experience - until now. Given how nice 2400 McCue looks on the outside and inside, and given the rents, who would have thought?”
— 2400 MCCUE RD · HOUSTON“Living proof that you get what you pay for. 6 month contract, front office facilitated moving in and moving out in a very professional manner.”
