“The WORST place to live unless you don't mind having your stuff getting stolen. Also, when your stuff does get stolen, from a LOCKED storage unit, the leasing office does nothing for you to help recover your property. So far I have had a brand new set of tools, a brand new in the box $1200 NAS drive and other items stolen with no way of knowing who stole them from a LOCKED storage unit. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere where you don't have to worry about your stuff getting stolen or at least where they care that your stuff got stolen!”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“This place was awesome the first few months I lived here. The staff is great (and still are, Hannah, Erica & Beatrice), maintenance is great (except some of the guys wear their boots/shoes on my bedroom carpet) and the grounds are kept up or were….they try, I’m always seeing the ground crew working. However, I have seen a shift in the level of renters they have allowed in. Dogs are peeing in hallways, trash laying around in garage, people speeding thru garage, mgmt has locked trash shoots because people make a huge mess and just leave it, now there are trash cans but people over fill them because they don’t care and are too lazy to find another trash bin. Valet trash doesn’t work on holidays nor on Fri/Sat so if a holiday falls on a Thursday or Monday, there are gnats for weeks because people leave trash outside their door in the trash box. My upstairs neighbors are loud & inconsiderate! The walls are paper thin, I can hear EVERYTHING my neighbors are doing and I do mean EVERYTHING!! I’ll make sure I get a top floor next time. I’m out of here as soon as my lease is up. 4 mos and counting!! I can’t wait around and watch this place fall apart because of the lifestyle some people are accustomed to.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“The staff and maintenance workers treated me with kindness and respect and responded to requests for assistance promptly. Overall I was satisfied with my experience living at this complex. I would recommend the complex to individuals new to the Houston area.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“This is going on my third year staying at the Augusta and I LOVE IT! The leasing office staff, Michelle and Mabel are extremely welcoming, professional, and knows the residents by name so that's always welcoming. They are always helpful and when walking into the office their personalities are like a breath of fresh air, always in a bubbly mood, and ready to answer any questions or assist in any way. Maintenance requests usually gets handled within the same day I put my request in but definitely within 24 hours of putting my request in so that's always good! The maintenance men are so friendly and efficient. They are always willing to help with anything "extra" if time permits. (Never had a bug or rodent problem) I love that they have events held for the residents a few times a month. They are always different and a bunch of fun. They range from cooking classes to brunch, to painting classes, meet and greets, pool parties and ect. Awesome ways to meet your neighbors. The Augusta is overall a great choice to live if you are looking for luxury apartments in the galleria area with friendly staff and neighbors.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“Living at the Augusta has been a blast. They are never short or professionalism, courtesy and service. The latter was recently showcased earlier this week. I attended one of the many cool events The Augusta puts on for its residents and there was an item I hoping to find information on. Although she not the employee leading this event, the wonderful Ms. Sparkle so graciously assisted me in finding the item. On top of that, she also checked back in to be sure that I did not have any further questions or concerns. Sometimes it's the big things, and some times its the small things. Thanks for being so helpful, Ms. Sparkle and The Augusta team.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I lived here for 15 months. 4th Floor. Bad: *The Air Conditioners are old units. They waste lots of energy and rarely cool down the house when its hot outside. We got an electric bill reaching 300 once. The apartment did all they could. They sealed the doors and check the A/C but they always found out it was working good. Then again we lived on the top floor (4th floor). *The elevators broke ever so often. Maybe once a month. *The garage doors would break ever so often. Maybe once every two months. *We got a bill at move out for $75.00 for fixing the walls when it was unnecessary. Disputing this was received with no response. *Initially, they sold us on an 18-month contract. When we signed the contract, they said corporate didn't allow 18-months ONLY 15. *Management is slow to respond to issues. Except when it comes to maintenance issues - they were good on that. Except for the A/C issue. *Someone hit our vehicle in the garage. No response was ever given from the office when we requested footage. We called for weeks. *Trash always piles up, but that's everywhere. *Gas grill by the pool was broken since move-in. As far as I know, it is still broken. Good: *Beautiful set-up. *The kitchen is nice. Lots of storage. *Balconies are small but ample. *No ceiling fans or lights in living room. *Nice interior walking areas for small dogs. *Friendly neighbors with dogs. *Parking is convenient but parking spots are small/narrow. *No roaches, rats, or loud neighbors. No theft.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“The location is not bad. But the parking lots are too small. Their website are always in trouble, either under maintenance or updating. But the staff suggest we pay the rent through their website. There is one time we cannot make the payment due to their stupid website maintenance, are they charged us 85 dollars for punishment....... Not recommended”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“awsome place in a nice neighborhood. Restaruants all around close by is a plus many events throughout the week (today is taco tuesday and who can resist free tacos?!) great gym and resort style pool area definately looking forward to spend alot of time living here.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I was looking online for a nice environment to live in I found The Augusta and called the number . I called The Augusta to ask about pricing rates and a girl named Jennifer answered and told me there is all different pricing rates, you really have to come in and see. I came in an hr later kind of got lost but, security was really nice and helped me. When I went on the tour I loved it all my questions were answered and she had great customer service. I like that there is on site security especially with me and my daughter . I will not be able to stay at The Augusta because my career is paying for me to move to San Francisco. However I will be referring my friend Mauro Gonzales to become a resident at The Augusta in April.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I have live here for three years and I like living here. I have never had any problems, and the office helps me when needed. I would like to upgrade to a larger space here, because I like the location and would like to stay here at The Augusta. Jose always come to take care of anything that goes wrong very quickly. Hopefully they are able to find me a larger apartment.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“Amazing place to live! It is like living in a 5 star resort. The amenities are unbelievable. The residents are really looked after by the management, leasing staff and the maintenance team. We looked at several places before moving in and we are thrilled that we chose The Augusta. There are workout classes onsite. There are social events on site. There are services brought in at no charge to the residents. The landscaping is kept clean and beautiful. This is a very classy and friendly place to live and it is in an excellent location.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“Poorly maintained and awfully managed. I moved in and moved right out as soon as my lease was up.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I have lived at many apartment complexes and I have to say this is by far one of the nicest ones to live in. The apartments have a beautiful loft style, with very high ceilings. We have a gated community, mail room is accesible, beautiful pool area, state of the art gym with a personal trainer 3 times per week. What else could you ask for? I work night shift and sleep during the day so I was looking for a place where I could sleep without hearing my neighbors, I would say this is an overall quiet environment, I don't have any problem sleeping during the day. As far as maintenance goes, I had a bulb go out, I reported it to the staff in the leasing office and it was changed the very next day. I also had my freezer act up on a sunday.. YES Sunday, I called the service number and they had a new fridge in my apartment within 3 hrs. They made sure to switch the contents from one to the other and it even looked the same.. They have always been courteous and respectful they have an amazing team at the leasing office that always seem to find the way not only to help with resident issues but who actually care about their residents. I am just a happy resident.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“As a pet owner myself, who actually accepts the responsibility of picking up after my pet, I find it amusing that people tend to think it is management or anyone else for that matters responsibility to pick up and clean after pets. I mean, whatâ??s next, is someone else responsible to pick up and clean after your kids too. Seriously, some people are ignorant. Â I have lived here for 2 years, I have never had issues with maintenance or the leasing office staff. Lisa, Jennifer and Rachel are wonderful. They all have been super friendly and will take the time to listen and actually look for solutions to problems that are voiced. It appears by some reviews that these people have clearly never lived in an apartment or never actually talked to the girls in the office. Maybe they should buy a house. End of story”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I have lived here at the Augusta since 2011; I am on my second lease, and I have had a great experience here. I am a professional with a private practice in the West U area of Houston, and the 15 minute commute (off peak-hours) is terrific. The apartments here are beautiful inside: it is hard not to love the high ceilings, hardwood floors, granite surfaces, and loft stylings. I am fortunate to live on the 4th floor facing southwest, so have a nice view at night. The open breezeways and painted concrete walkways along with the spectacular pool give the place a resort-style feel. I do wish the pool was heated to allow for winter-time use, and a hot tub would not be a bad addition either. What I like most here, hands-down, are the folks on the Augusta team. Jennifer and Rachel in the front office are incredible; they are unfailingly sweet and highly attentive; any small issues that I have needed assistance with over the course of my stay they have met enthusiastically and quickly. On top of that they are just genuinely nice people. When the office was overloaded with packages at one point, making receiving additional ones difficult, Rachel even offered to bring a package I was expecting and worried about missing up to my unit and to leave it inside for me. Outstanding service. The maintenance staff has been excellent; there have been 2-3 times during my stay when I have called in for assistance, both times AC-related I believe, and the issue had been taken care of by the time I arrived home from work that evening. There have been a few noisy neighbors from time to time, but I have never lived at a property where that has not, at some point, the case. Beyond that I have nothing but positives to lay down for this place; I am very much enjoying my time here. One other note...I have never posted on one of these boards before, and it was humorous reading some of the screamingly negative posts that are clearly hyperbolic and clumsy hatchet jobs by a bitter person or couple of people with an excess of time on their hands - their descriptions of the Augusta are unrecognizable as the property on which I have lived now for 3 years. As with all things, consider the source. You don't have to look much past the childish tantrum-like feel (and child-like grammar and sentence construction) to know you probably should not put much weight in those "reviews", especially from people crouching behind "anonymous." Take it from a second-term resident here and respected community professional: if you are looking for a warm, attractive resort-style mid-rise home with great service, you will really enjoy this place.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“STAY AWAY FROM HERE , noise , safety , management everything is horrible . If any one got to the parking garage can go EVERYWHERE !!”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I have been at The Augusta for 3 months out of a 12 month lease. I have both positive and negative views of this complex. As someone in the Real Estate Industry, I tend to have higher than normal expectations. The positive things include the work out facility, the CARES team actively trying to get residents involved, and the leasing consultants are polite. My apartment includes nicer materials such as slate tile, wood flooring, and granite countertops. The maintenance team is great. If they don't know how to do something, they take the time to figure it out. My negative points are that the garage and my neighbors are very loud. As someone who tends to work from home, I hear a lot of noise from other residents. The garbage chutes are thin, so I have to force down a half full trash bag 2x a week to keep things manageable. Some of the finishes in the apartment were also done in a messy manner. (Unclean edges and paint on cabinetry). My main issue is the security and accountability of the complex. I was in my apartment for less than 6 weeks and was one of two apartments robbed. Not only did the leasing staff come up with many situations of what happened, but I had to discuss safety procedures with them multiple times before they did things. More security cameras and reliable courtesy officers are needed here. The access gates break constantly, thus defeating their purpose. The elevators have also broken on more than one occasion. There is a lot of soliciting going on here. 3-5 times a month I will come home and find letters, business cards and door hangers at my front door. This also makes it easy for someone to know if a resident is home or not. Overall, if you choose this complex, don't risk things. Get an alarm system, and a "no soliciting" sign. Get to know your neighbors and go to the CARES team events. Best of luck in your search.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I currently live at Augusta, I have had a great experience. I like the midrise concept. I really like the fact that Augusta has an armed security officer. Back home you don't see things like that. I'm pretty sure this is an added bonus. So this makes a difference in my opinion. Being a single male I am always looking for different ways to meet others. The cares team at Augusta has lots of events each month which I plan on attending in the future. They came by and introduced themselves when I moved in. I don't see how anyone could say anything bad about the office staff. Being someone that moved from out of state I found the staff extremely helpful and fun. I read some of the other comments and was taken back. I have always found the office staff very helpful. Yes the office has been busy when I have come to pick up my packages but never to busy to help me. I'm sure they do the same for all residents. The only thing I would like is door to door trash pick up. I would like that a lot and maybe a car care station. I had one at my last apartment.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“DON'T COME HERE ! This is the worst place to live in , in Houston . I had lived in many other places in Houston . I just like to move every year and try something new . But The Augusta is the worst complex ever . I'm having many issues here , my neighbour who lives above me (K405) is very loud and jumping ( NOT WALKING ) all the time . I contacted the manager (Lisa) many times , but she did nothing . The last time I went to talk with them about the noise level of my neighbour , they called her she said I did nothing I'm very quite then the manager told me that she said I did nothing we can't do anything !! . I can't even sleep at 5 am because of that I always late to my work .This complex is not safe at all many apartments were robbed and cars broken into . I f you got to the garage you could go everywhere all the doors are open to all buildings . I can't wait till I move out very soon I don't fell safe and people here are rude , unhelpful , and noisy . BE AWAAAAAAAAAY FROM THIS COMPLEX .”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“My wife and I have lived at the Augusta for 4 years and we have enjoyed living there. The office staff is always very highly professional, kind, and willing to get all of the packages that we have shipped to the office (I think we had the highest amount of packages ordered for a single unit, pretty frequent). Kendra, Jennifer, Rachel, are the office staff that I usually deal with and they are the sweetest, most hardworking office staff that I have every dealth with, always ready to help with a smile. Oh and also Wallace who was there when we first moved in and made sure everything was taken care of, (we got a really good special price when we moved here in 2009). They have a CARES team, Robert and Bonnie who do an amazing job holding events and always give out free food!! One tevent it was chicken breast or pork with sides and it was great because we didn't cook dinner that night, they are so nice and can't find this kind of love from any other apt complex. About the apartment now, we lived on 4th floor and never had a problem with any roaches or insects the entire 4 years there. This is a big pet peeve of my wife and pest control was always done frequently which led to a insect free unit. The unit is very very nice and the appliances, sinks, doors, overall design of units is top notch. Maintenance is always responsive. Also one priceless thing about this apartment is the parking garage! It's great that you don't have to worry about Rain, or transferring items so far because you get a spot close to your apt and on the same floor. Yes it does get tiresome having to drive round and round up the garage with 2 way traffic but its a huge advantage having a garage. Also with Security, they used to have just rent-a-cop type of security guards who didn't do much, but in the last few months of living there, they beefed up security by having armed guards with a German Shepherd dog!! Even I get scared seeing them, I think this is a great improvement from the past guards who did a so-so job. The security gates work pretty well, yet cars can still follow you right in. We never had any issues with crime, but i know some residents there in the past had there tires/rims stolen, with the cars left on bricks, so just make sure you have wheel locks. They do have security cameras in the lots now, but what apt is safe anyway? I think they are doing a great job so far by beefing up security. They have a new manager since early 2013 and i think she's making good changes to improve, I woud suggest they give residents special colored "stickers" for their cars so that security guard can see they are residents and make vistors sign-in. They need to beef up security at the gate imo, cars can just follow you in. The only problem I ever really had at this complex was with the Fire Alarm going off multiple times one evening-it was due to a malfunctioned fire-alarm, but it was a good drill for all residents. The elevators do go out of order sometimes which can be inconvenient when transporting heavy equipment, but that's pretty much the worst it gets, so overall this is an awesome place to live if you can afford it. They are pet friendly too, I see many residents with pets here. The location make it easy to hit 59, 610, I-10, westpark and beltway, so its very very good central location for Houston, close by many shopping, dining, nightlife, churches, around the Galleria area. Just avoid the rush between about 4:45pm - 6:45pm M - F. The residents here are mostly young professionals, some older professionals too, some families too, some party people too, i've had to notify office about noise maybe just once and they took care of it. Also people do litter in the garage some-times and don't know how to throw away their garbage properly or pick up after their selves but the maintenance team does a great job in cleaning up after. Some people are careless about their trash. They have a very good maintenance team who have been there as long as I have lived there and then some, kudos to them! The swimming pool is like a vegas style pool, very very nice, a decent gym as well. Thank you The Augusta for being our home for the last 4 years and thank you to the excellent office staff and maintenance team for all you've done.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“Overall this is not a bad complex. The only issues I have are: 1. The office staff needs to answer the phone more often. I try to call from my unit about an issue. There is hardly ever an answer. I immediately walk to the multiple office staff employees simply walking around. Makes me wonder why someone didn't answer the phone(?). 2. The speed bumps. I agree they were needed because folks were speeding around the parking deck. However, I was not one of them. The speed bumps are way too high so I guess I need to get ready to pay more for my car alignment more often. Thanks for that. 3. There needs to be drinking cups at all times in the gym area for the water dispenser. This is a small request but if there are no cops why have the dispenser there? 4. In certain areas of the hallways, there is exposed wiring where ceiling fans used to be. Could this be patched up perhaps put another ceiling fan there? Other than these things, I enjoy living here. The rent continues to increase by substantial amounts which is sometimes necessary I understand. However, my expectations of what I pay for will increase in comparison.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“I am a current resident of The Augusta complex and I honestly can say that I can't imagine living elsewhere. I recently relocated from NYC Metro area for a new job here in Houston, and it is the CLOSEST area in comparison to NYC. I moved here without a car and have had no issues at all. I have the Hailacab app on my cell phone and just arrange a pick up to and from work every single day. I've never been late for work and it is VERY reliable - and the rate compares to commuting to NYC from northern NJ for work. HUGE PLUS HERE!! I'll eventually get a car, but I'm in no rush at the moment. Let the cab drivers deal with the crazy drivers and traffic while I read the news on my iPad to and from work! I love my 1 bedroom apartment and haven't had any issues whatsoever with my space, amenities, or any noise/bugs at all. The staff is amazing and have always been available if needed to address any issues (which I haven't had). The "Cares" team - married couple (Bonnie and Robert) organize monthly events to allow the residents to meet other people and provide food and beverages FREE of charge. The pool area is great - clean and orderly. Being from NYC area I feel that the rent is appropriate based on the space, amenities, pool, lounge area, and FREE PARKING (NYC parking can cost you upwards of $400 a month!). Another important thing to note is that the location CAN'T BE BEAT!! There is an H.E.B. grocery store within walking distance. There are about 5 top notch steak houses that can be reached within a short walking distance. There is a dry cleaner AND gas station directly across the street. Best of all there is a great neighborhood bar "Muldoons" that is right across the street where you can have great drinks (inside or outside) and meet neighbors that live on Agusta Drive as well. Houston's restaurant is practically in back of our complex and has good food and a great bar area. You can walk (if desirable) to the Galleria Mall (ranked #8 of the best malls in the US) to do some serious shopping but recommend getting a cab right outside the Neiman Marcus parking area back home. Not to mention the off price stores (Marshalls, Nordstrom Off the Rack, NM Last Call, etc.) are very close by. In my 4 months living here, there NO negatives...maybe I'm lucky, or it's the fact that I'm realistic in my expectations and again living in Houston without a car and having no complaints says a lot about the Galleria area in itself. Can't imagine living any place else.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“Would not recommend living here - dealing with the office staff is horrible, they are always "too busy" to deal with your issues and always have an attitude about them. The trash piles up in the parking garage to the point where it makes it smell - it is disgusting. Almost anyone can come in/out, car break-ins happen often with NO help from the "rent-a-cop". Also very stingy and skeemy about move-out procedures. Good luck not getting in a head on accident in the parking garage, there is not near enough room for it to be 2-way. Will not be renewing my contract, and am hoping for a job in another city that will pay for me to get out of it.”
— 2660 AUGUSTA DR · HOUSTON“So I have lived here for 6 months and was recently offered a new job that is located 3-4 hours away. I thought I could work with the management to try to get out of the lease since I have to move. I was way wrong. My new job starts within the month. Not only are they charging me all of next months rent, which I have no problem paying, but they are trying to charge me through the end of 60 days plus a relet fee of a little over $1000. On top of that, if they are unable to find someone to get into my apartment, which by the way is becoming more and more ------ by the week, I have to continue paying rent on this place. Then when I met with one of the managers, she thought it would be cute to joke about me commuting to my new job, which I have already stated is pretty far from here. Then, she went on to talk about if tenants die they try to collect owed rent from the deceased person's family. I am not even sure why she brought that up. So basically they are trying to make it too expensive to move to my new job, which is with a company I have been trying to get hired on with for years now. On top of that, this place recently had many break ins over the course of one weekend. The security here is lax. They have a rent a cop that sits downstairs and watches movies on a laptop all night. Most places have a live in cop, but management is apparently too cheap for that. Also, the place is filthy. Residents leave trash everywhere and apparently they are not fined. I would not recommend moving here.”
