“Not surprised about the other reviews. My 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bathroom. I pay 1245.00+. Don't let them fool you. I moved two years ago and still live here. Regret regretting my decision on signing lease renewal. They never answer the phone, never get back to you. Your apartment costs are different each month and it's not cheaper, it goes up. They force you to get rental insurance. That's fine but my point is they try to charge you every thing. Turn over is extremely high. No one wants to stay here because they don't know what they are being charged for the next month. Your rental bill has 3 different fees over $ 50.00 water only. Sewage , trash, storm water charge, insurance if you don't have. Cable is $70.00 . Next month let's see what is new on charges next month. Water pressure in shower bath is horrid, takes 20 minutes + to fill bath tub, it's not a big tub either. Shower pressure is worse. They are disorganized. 3 different property managers. I signed a renewal and I regret. I am in tears because of these outrageous charges and it's scary when you don't know what you have to pay the next month rent. It's worse and I hoped we would get managers that payed attention to your needs. Most people that move here, move out within 6 months. Believe me, us neighbors have been discussing these outrageous charges we are getting. Make sure when you pay rent you get a signature on receipt because they charge more. I can go on and on. It's sad because some people are on a budget, you will not be able to do a budget while living at Sandalwood Apartment in WVC. Rip you off. They run the water outside all night( floods) very cold outside. Remember you paid for the water...”

— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Ok they are SEDONA POINTE APARTMENTS i guess sandalwood is an old name where do i start the apartments were ok the first 5 months quiet, no problems at all after i got my new neighbors omg i have been in hell the Last 7 months literally the ones from the left they were loud the ones from the right listen to loud music the one from behind listen to loud music and smokes weed my apartment smell like weed 24/7 the gates are always broken oh and the 2 "tropical" pools never available because there is always one family that. thinks they own the pools people getting robed in the parking lots no parking past 9 pm ------ people everywhere.....staff they don't care about your complaints... please stay away from here!!!!!!!!!!! Did i forgot to say cats everywhere!!!! Oh i forgot something else u will never feel comfortable leaving your apartment with your expensive furniture or electronics or whatever of value you have i never did cuz the doors seem like they don't lock all the way.....Don't Move to this place!!!”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“These apartments are horrible. Maintenance takes at least a week to fix anything & always does a quick fix only to have to return a month later to fix again. They now have parking stickers so parking is not an issue. The apartment we moved into had a huge roach problem & they have never did any type of exterminating like they say. Water is always getting cut off without notice. Counter tops & flooring are done poorly. Take your money & go elsewhere! People are constantly in parking lots being extremely loud & drinking.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“I lived in Sandalwood apartments from 1996 to 1999. Starting off in a one bedroom, moving to effiency, and after my daughter was born moving into 2 bedroom. All management that came thru there in my 4 years were very rude, one lady who felt free to just use her key to walk into our apartment when ever she wanted to. Parking was a nightmare, more often than not we had to park on the street and our cars were damaged in hit and runs on several occasions. Drug dealers everywhere(lots being kids asking what do you want everytime you passed by). Mysterious fires in 2 apartments that I can remember and a couple cars being burnt in the parking lot. My husband was jumped and knocked out cold in the parking lot for his wallet. Gunfire so many time I could not count. Laundry facilities were terrible, our clothes were burnt up several times due to heat being too high in dryer. And people feeling free to help themselves to our clothing. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. If they were this bad then, I cannot imagine what they are like now. We got smart and moved out of state.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“They never have hot water here nor do they keep the water on. The roaches will carry you out of here. better have pepper spray if you walk outside at night by yourself. they never keep the gates locked like they say they do. most of the plugs don't work. Don't use the laundry mats that they have here on the complex people will still your cloths. the pools are never clean. the one by the office is closed cause of the fire they had here. the parking is ridicules people always walking in an out of the complex drug dealers come up to. its is not a good place to live better watch your car or it will get broken into. you will have people call you ----- if you don't talk to them. the cops are always here every time you look up. If you have to go to the office for anything its like trying to piss in a pop bottle its just a waste of your breath. if i was anyone who wanted to move in this hell hole i wouldn't or better yet ask them how they are gonna fix the building that got burnt down!!!!!”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“I have been living here at SEDONA POINTE for about 1 year, and i have been happy with the service received. office staff is nice and helpful, residents are friendly and quiet, and maintanence have always tended to any requests i have made.i do recommend this community to everybody. they have nice, spacious and affordable apartments.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“worst place to move.. very dangerous... someone stole my stuff from the car.. very bad management specially fat -------- woman she is very rude. if you dont pay they get in the apartment and take your expensive stuff.. very dangerous and they lots of illigel mexican immigrants. AWARE DONT even get closer.....”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“I stayed in Apartment #2201 from May of 2003-January 2005 and it was the WORST place to live in, half the time the electricity went out, I went two weeks without air conditioning, two of my cars had gotten vandalized with graphic images and sexual profanities, AND my car got towed TWICE because they thought I wasn't a resident. WTF you took $475 a month from me and didn't know I live there lol! The tenants are rude, I had one tenent who used to throw their garbage in my patio and I didn't even know these people! The management doesn't care and wont resolve any issues with you at all, that place is a DUMP, nothing but free loading welfare people and junky disabled cars, STAY AWAY”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“This was my first apartment with my husband and son(at the time a newborn). It was affordable and decently sized, and our location was right behind the office. I liked how we got brand new appliances and carpet and a fresh paint job. The ceiling fan and tub was also brand new, I watched them replace it before we moved in. Thats really the only good thing about this place. One reviewer wrote that there's never hot water, and that is very true. In one month we probably had our hot water turned off 5-6 times, and it took hours to get it back on. The woodwork around the base of the walls in the bathroom was not finished, and therefore invited roaches and ants. My a/c didnt work once, but they came out and fixed it and it didnt break down again. The parking was horrible. Often times we would come home after 9 pm and we would have to park in the office parking lot. We were issued keys to open the gate, but that lasted about a week before somebody broke the lock and anybody could walk through. I didnt feel too safe living there but considering some of the places I have lived in since, it wasnt too bad there. Overall my experience wasnt awful. I moved because we wanted something bigger and the next size up there was out of our price range. Plus they wanted to charge us an extra $30 per month for rent to renew. I had very nice neighbors, and the people that lived above me were very quiet and kept to themselves. In some of the other buildings there were very loud people but not in my building. I have driven by since and the building I was in burned down just months after we moved out. I feel so blessed that we didnt renew our contract because that couldve been us. If you are considering living there just keep to yourself and you will be fine. The lady that leased to us was fired for some reason, but the lady that came in right after was extremely helful and always friendly. Some people have to live in that area because of the convenience, and for those people I would definitely recommend these apartments because they are much better than the ones surrounding them. I moved next door to NorthPark Crossing and that was one of the worst decisions ever. Im about to leave a comment for them too. Its a love it or hate it situation but I would go with this place if you had to.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“I thought this place was a very good deal when I moved in. Nice sized efficiency for a decent price. I was told everything was new. Someone had lived in the place and trashed the carpet. I was told before signing the lease that the carpet would be replaced.....well it wasn't and it never got shampooed like tghey said instead. The roofs on this place got smoked by IKE in septmeber and the place never had rerairs or replacement done when I moved out. The ceiling looked like it was sagging and one could even say that it smelled moldy. Yes beer cans are all over the parking lot from sloppy tennants but maintenance picks them up in the morning. Just be cautious if the roofs have not been fixed! They are leaking into the attics and creating a potentially exteme mold problem. Grounds are decent, pool sketchy, Can have movies loud w/o other tennants complaining.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“About the only thing they can keep hot is fire...check it out right behind the office....hell the brochures might even be burnt!!!”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Sandalwood apartments, or whatever they're called now, are the worst apts for many reasons. During my stay my husband and his friend were shot at while doing laundy. Also there were 2 homicides and countless burglaries. One of the apts to be be burglerized was my own. I confronted the thieves and they pulled a gun on me so I went to the managment and told them we had to move out that day because they have threatened to kill us. We made a police report and the managment refused to help us in any way. They denied crime in the apartments and were truly worthless. Moving there is a big mistake.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Where do i start? I have lived in many apts and this is by far the worst. You might want to get 12 extra deadbolts for your door. OH and dont expect management to help you with ANYTHING. Complaints are ignored. I have spent countless days with no air conditioning and they say "what do you want us to do about it?" (direct quote) Bugs are a constant problem (as in roaches) and I am a very clean person. THey lost my rent check once and never said anything until i came home from work on the 15th of the month and found myself locked out and owing $200 worth of "late fees." I had my bank call there and they were very rude and non compliant. The turnover rate at the office is so ridiculous you almost never talk to the same person twice, oh and goodluck if you are english speaking. You are a minority by far and including staff. This is truely the ------. I do not feel safe, there is CONSTANT noise, the gates rarely work, there are seriously real life HOOKERS all along the road right outside the gates. The smell of weed wafts throught my air vents. Maintenance may come when you call for them (MAYBE)but dont expect them to be able to fix anything. Calling the office is futile. ALong with talking to them in person. Believe me. You DONT want to live here for ANY amount of time. Dont do it. the end.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Horrible!!! Water is shut off at least once a month with out with notice. Outside breaker switches are not secured which means anyone walking by can turn off your power!!! Compliants are never addressed. Rent increases are made without proper notice and eviction notices are given. Mailboxes do not have doors or locks on them. Gates around the property are never locked! There is a police presence only because of the illegal activity not because they care about safety. Unrented apartments are occupied by staff and remoldeling occurs at all hours of the night. The parking lots are filled with empty beer cans. The only time the management follows the contract is when it is time to move out!!!!”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Not only do i feel you get your moneys worth but its a great location. i would recommend anyone to move in.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“Even when I tell people where I live they say,"That's the Getto". Over the past couple of years I have watched the decline of this property. The gate is always broken and stays wide open for "everyone". I have seen hookers pimping their stuff at the front gate. I have videotaped drug deals in the parking lot. I have seen a man heald at gunpoint just outside my window.(all this in the past 3 months) The residents are 20% good familys and young couples and 80% punks, thugs and troublemakers. The trash dumpsters are always overflowing. I wouldn't move here if I were you. Swing by any evening you want around 6pm to 9pm and you will see.”
— 311 HIGHLAND CROSS DR · HOUSTON“it was okay here. apartments are simple. the complex as a whole is kinda eh...the area isn't the nicest i've been in and thats mostly because of the people who live here. i had no issues with car break ins or anything else, but i do see police in a regular basis. my apartment had roaches, even after they said they sprayed for them, had repeated problems with A/C not working during summer time. Ceilings leaked from upstairs apartments on a number of different occasions.

the office staff is made up of professional and polite people and are always willing to help out. costs of living are reasonable as well, but just remember you are getting what you pay for too, so don't expect much.”
