“Do not move here!!!! My ceiling caved in the living room and they didn’t take me serious when I told them it look like it would fall . Even after it fell they didn’t hurry up and bring anyone to check it . They rushed and tried to fix it in 2 days but it looked the exact same! DONT LET THEM MOVE YOU INTO APT 216!!!! It’s dangerous . The manager Leticia and the regional manager did NOTHING to help me . I had to move instead of them moving me in a different unit”

— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“My family, and I have only been living here for a few months. I have received 4 to 5 emails from the office abou the community having criminal activities or events in the time I have been staying here. This place has no security which makes this place unsafe for anyone.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“By far the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. It's very filthy; beer bottles, cigarette butts, trash, dog feces everywhere. Maintenance is very very very poor. It takes forever for maintenance to complete a work order. I got frustrated and stop paying rent when it took two and a half months for them to replace my toilet. Only after I complained a dozen times to the leasing office, and only reason why they did replace the toilet in the first place was to cover their backs for when we go to court they can say they fixed everything. Pathetic, they want they rent but don't want to fix things. It's roaches everywhere. Cheap apartments so you getting what you pay for and it's not much. I'm glad I no longer live in that apartment complex. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there. I wouldn't even recommend a six month lease. Then again if you're looking for a less than mediocre place to live with less than mediocre amenities, then the alcove apartments is your place.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“The staff are very courteous and helpful, they are always anxious to help if I have questions. The maintenance guys are always busy and friendly. The apartment grounds are clean and well lit at night. I feel safe when I'm here. I finally feel that I have a good home. Thanks alcove apartments for that.”

— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“Very happy! Just moved in 2 months ago and love it! office staff is very helpful and the property well kept.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I was there on Friday. Looking to move closer to where I work. The staff was nice. I might go back, but the prices are high.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“My husband and I moved from Louisiana to Houston. It was very hard to find a apartment , we were living in a hotel. So we went to the Alcove apartments, we spoke with the receptionist. She said they wasn't going to have anything available for about 2 weeks. So we explained our situation to her , she told us to go get a money order for our application fee. When we came back ,she told us she had spoken with her manager (Karla ) and they had a apartment ready for us to move in immediately. My husband and I thanked them and moved in the next day. Now I've been here for almost 2yrs and the only problem I've had was when my neighbor moved I saw a few roaches. But I called the office and they sent someone out to spray and I've haven't had a problem with the roaches since. From the people in the office to the maintenance men , everyone is always nice. I would definitely recommend these apartments to my family and friends. ??????????”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“First and foremost, one star on all accounts to dilute the previous fake reviews. Here are the pros and cons of living at The Alcove: Cons: Roaches- Roaches will always be there from day you move in to the day you move out. It doesn't matter how clean you are, it doesn't matter if you spray your own stuff, you will always have roaches. They will get to any place where they want to be in. Parking- Parking spots are scarce in late evenings. Seems there are a few non working cars parked that never move. 70% of cars parked here have body damage, I didn't think anything of it either until I found my front bumper ripped out one morning. People don't know how to drive, don't care, or both. Smell- Constant foul smell in the apartment most likely from a mold. Seems to get worse on a hot day. Sewery smell coming from bathroom sink. Very shabby renovation. 2/3 of electrical outlets are not usable or don't work.Constant leaking air conditioner in closet. Maintenance- Maintenance is usually quick to come, but 50/50 chance they will actually fix anything. Crime- Sometimes you get a little paper saying there was a break in. I've seen a few busted car windows. I see a guard walking around sometimes, I guess that makes it safe. Always have to watch for dog turds when walking on grass. Train- There is a train track nearby. You can always count on a train to pass every day around 5 a.m. blaring its horn, yet in the apartments down the street by the same tracks never hear the same train pass. Roaches- Did I mention roaches? Traffic- Always traffic on Edgebrook. Especially weekends. Every morning you are at the mercy of the traffic to get on the street. Pros: Nice kitchen sink Nice dishwasher Kind of nice refrigerator (not really) I would definitely recommend this place to my worst enemy, my nemesis, or somebody I just plain hate. Especially if they have a phobia of roaches. The price you end up paying for these apartments is too high. Considering other apartments in the area, it is night and day difference for extra 150-200.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have lived in these apartments, for the last 12 years. I have seen this property,at it's worst. I have seen it also managed,by all kinds of different types of "professional managers". So to say. And i can honestly say, since the make over. And new management we have had since the make over. They are by far the best managers The alcove could have. Very professional, they make you feel right at hom, from the first step you take into the leasing office...I can honestly say,im happy here. And hope to stay, for a long time with no problems.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have lived here since the summer and I must say DONT live here!!!!! Within 2 months of me staying here 2 cars we broken in to and 1 apartment.... The pavement is messed up so if you are not paying attention you cam age your car. Also things stay broken for months on the property and they lie and say they will fix it but they don't.... When I moved in I had a specific request to get something replaced in my apartment and even had to call corporate to get it handles and they made up excuse after excuse.... They are not urgent with any request at ALL. There is a train track only 200 ft away and the train rings his bell at all times of the night waking you up in addition to pols car alarms going off 10-20 a night!!!!! Find another property I warn you!!!! The model is a false representation of what you will be getting.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I notified the office in advance that I was moving. To my knowledge we left in good terms. Next thing I know I have been sent to collections for $997.00!!! I never received a bill at my new address, which they were fully aware of, or a simple phone call. Did they decide to remodel the entire apartment and pin the entire bill on me?? This is absolutely ridiculous and abusive! DO NOT RENT HERE...it's not even worth the price anyway.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have lived at The Alcove for a few years now. The property itself was being renovated when I moved in and I thought it would be nice. Well... They were replacing all of the roofs at the time and there were nails everywhere so I got a flat tire 6 times. I told the front office about it and asked if they would send someone out all over the grounds to collect the stray nails but no one ever did so I did it myself. I asked to have my air conditioner fixed this summer and after about 10 visits, someone finally came and fixed it (it's running great now). I have gotten three notices in the past few weeks that there were break-ins to peoples houses/cars. What I thought was hilarious about the letters is that they say "Crime has no zip code." HA! Our zip code is not the worst, but to be honest, you should kind of expect to get robbed at least once in those parts. I read another review on here that says there is a lot of trash that is not hers just sitting around all the time. I totally agree. There are a TON of stray cats and people leave their trash outside, only to have the bag ripped open by the mangey, feral cats. To offset the disgusting residents, they started a trash valet service. They give you a trash bin, you set it outside of your door, and they pick it up. I had my trash out during the required time 3 days in a row and no one even bothered to pick it up, but if it is left outdoors after 9am, you get a hefty fine. The people in the office are super nice, except for this new lady. I don't think that she has any idea of what professionalism means. The manager, Carla, is a sweetheart and she will do whatever she can, within her power, and Rosemary is a sweetheart as well, but she is firm, which I like. The older lady that works in there makes me want some really good food because she looks like the wholesome, angelic grandmother. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because of the nasty lady. Maintenance is not bad either. They are friendly and the do the best that they can. The neighbors that I have are racist, there is always some kind of drug deal going down, and the other day there were gunshots in the complex. I want to move because of this. I think they are letting anyone move in now. It's disappointing because the only reason I moved there in the first place was because people were getting shot in my old complex. Overall, this is not the worst place that I have ever lived. If it was not for the crime, it would be a great deal. I am planning on moving because I do not want my child to be in danger every time he walks out of the door. For a single male, or male roommates, this place might not be too bad, as long as you're tough. I just hope you don't have a nice car or anything else nice in your house...it will probably get stolen.”
“I have lived here for almost year. I quite honestly dont mind living here except for some of the people here. Maintenance has always come fast when I have needed it. My neighbors have so many people in their apartment all the time that I dont even know who really lives there. There is a fight coming from their apartment at least one a week. I am not the only resident that think they are a problem either.. My car has been broken into. Shattered my back passenger window. The grounds when I first moved in were nice and clean but now there isnt a day that I dont come home and see trash all around me.. I have come home to find empty cigarette boxes on my porch and I don't smoke! Even found a lighter on my porch.. Parking is horrible if you get here after 10pm. Good luck finding a spot even close to an area you live in. You have to have a parking sticker so your car doesnt get towed but I quite honestly dont ever see a tow truck come by. The sockets wont hold your plugs because they are so loose. There is security guard on the property at all times but if you live towards the back you will never see them. This place is good for a temporary place..”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have been living here for about 2 years. The apartments are spacious. But I had several problems with this complex. My restroom ceiling was leaking, the guy fixed the problem but the ceiling, all he did was covered leak. I have to mess with my stove in order for it to work, I told the office and they said they were going to send someone, and nothing. I have called and told them at least 3 times. My ac works when it wants to. I don't know how many times they to fixed it. Now thats its getting cold, my heater doesnt work, again! There's times I want to take my kids to go play at the playground and every time I take them there's teenagers smoking pot. What happened to the daytime security guard?! The walls are so weak i cannot hang any frames on my wall without it falling. There's abandon, and wrecked cars everywhere taking up parking space. At night good luck trying to find parking. And someone hit my car. The utilities bill is always around $57. That's outrageous!! I use to live in a house, and my utilities bill was the most $40. I'm just waiting for my lease to be up so we can leave.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have lived here since 2013/8, and very thing is great. The staffs are very nice and helpful. I have great experience living here.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I visit this apartments over the weekend and I really like their curb appeal, staff is nice and ready to tour the property to show their floor plans. I had called before my visit spoke with Rosmary she was very friendly and polite she try to schedule an appointment based on my busy schedule. I will apply next month for a 1 bed unit I'm looking forward to move in!!!!!!!!!!!!”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I leave here at the alcove since June of 2014. What I loved the most is that they have 24hr emergency maintenance, so that was convenient for me when my air conditioning stooped working. And thanks to them my air conditioning was working again within hours. Also the staff is very friendly and happy to help in what the can. So far so good!”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I moved in a couple of months ago. I really like the Alcove. The place is well kept and the location is great for me. The staff is helpful.”
— 77 E Edgebrook Dr · Houston“I have been living at the alcove for 3 months and I must say I don t have too many bad things to say about the place. I did have a roach problem when I first moved in, but once I put in a work order for pest control to come I no longer had roaches within a week after they arrived. This place isn t the fanciest of places, but it s a gem for the price I pay. There are some minor issues with the apartment such as loose electrical outlets and the out of date appliances, but they work all work. Whenever I need something fixed they respond to the work request quickly. I am barely home, but I have not had any problems with unruly neighbors or crime. It s very quiet and I feel safe there. I constantly see security roaming the area which is a huge plus. I don t plan to live here forever and do plan on upgrading one day but as for now I am satisfied.”
