“I’d give one star if I could We lived at stone mist for 6 years and were there for 2-3 different management changes and I’m serious when I say, DONT MOVE HERE. We had literal hell the entire time we stayed there. Shootings, mold, bathroom mirror randomly fell down, 18+ work orders in ONE year for the AC. They even started getting roaches around the facility in the last year before we moved which wasnt an issue before. We finally got out of there and now a year later they are trying to drain $3000 from my families pocket and we are having to fight back because I genuinely wouldn’t even spend $3000 on the entire complex. Horrible staff and even worse place. Dont do it.”
— 10901 MIST LN · HOUSTON“This apartment would have been perfect if not for the management. The leasing office staff is unprofessional, unaccommodating, and intentionally misleads their tenants. For example, when my dog was attacked by another dog on property (10 yards from the mailbox), they refused to help us identify the attacker. They also refused to help the local police precinct. They even told us that there WAS a camera on property, and then told the police that there WASN'T a camera on property. Obviously they just wanted to protect their own interests as opposed to helping tenants who ALWAYS paid rent on time and did not cause commotions in the complex. When it came time for us to move out, they refused to allow us to temporarily park small moving pods that together would have fit in 1 parking spot, despite there being plenty of parking. They also did not have a system for returning our keys outside of their limited business hours, which is not realistic for most of the world. The final straw was the move out charges they sent one month after our move-out date, charging us for damages to appliances that were there when we moved in and for petty cleaning charges. Their staff specifically told me not to worry about documenting damages but obviously that was a lie because they turned around, kept our deposit and pet deposit, and charged us almost $200 additional. I do NOT recommend this apartment complex or this company to anyone.”
“It's been 7 days my garbage disposal and AC not working in unit 4210. I gave them online service request and went in the office several times to request maintenance but they said that they're busy. I can't wash the dishes, because of non functioning garbage disposal, i'm having fruit flys on my dishes and suffering in hot texas weather.”

You have to watch her because she is always adding on charges to the water bill and never knows her math when it comes to late fees. You have to be on top of all of that. I moved to a downstairs apartment during my pregnancy after my lease was up. She refused to change the carpet which looked terrible. When the lease came up you better no I was happy! she was giving me the run around on verifiying my new property. Eventually I asked the new manager too. I still left on good terms always paid my rent and made sure I had no balances before I left. I cleaned the place really nice. Well I moved in the new place last July, I get a collector hounding me a few days ago because they docked me 490.00 for property damages! so I called Ashley to get the pictures. There is no damage what so ever! a few specks of food on the counter and it look like she went behind me and did that because we made sure to clean everything. Now I am contacting my attorney. Do not move here! she is nosy and will lie she is irresponsible. She is nice to --------- but funny acting to black people. She does not appreciate good tenants. She sent me pictures and not one had property damage! beware thats all Im telling you, Thank me later!”

The response time for maintenance requests is unacceptable and the poor attitude and lack of helpfulness from the office staff was appaling. I think it took around 6 months from the time I moved in for them to finally give me a working dryer. I lived with raccoons and their babies in the crawl space above the apartment for over 5 months, they would crawl all over my patio and broke plants. They did not fix all of the holes for varmints to get in, so subsequently squirrels moved in. The office made no move to rectify the problem while I lived there. The electrical outlets started malfunctioning and there were two spots on the ceiling that were probably from the animals living up there and going to the bathroom. Also, the sound of animals scratching and crawling around above you is creepy, especially when the mother animal is dragging one of the babies around. There were numerous other service issues and believe that I did not have a serivce call handled on the first call. Paying nearly $1300 a month in rent should provide a level of customer service that was never received.”

This complex is close to matzke school and which is the only benefit for staying in this complex. The complex facilities are below average. The appliances in the apartment are very old, most of the kitchen shelf doors are broken. It takes time to replace the broken parts when you inform the maintenance. Safety: So many break-ins are happening. Ensure you have insurance coverage for your belongings, door rails are fixed in main door. Finally about the staff, they are really rude. I have never seen such people anywhere. Not at all friendly to tenants.”

Two of my abutting neighbors play music late into the night so don't count on getting any sleep. There are at least 3 break ins a month since this is on the bad side of town. I had to break the lease because this place is unbearable and now the office is trying to charge me $2000. $650 of that is in "cleaning costs" which is funny because I left the place in spotless condition. My apt was broken into as well and there's really nothing the apt's can do but stress the fact of apt insurance. People's property will get broken into no matter where you live, and our community just happen to be on the map. The office have shut the back gates so there's one way in and one way out. That's really all you can ask for. There's also have an on/off duty policeman on the premise. If you don't like what they have offer then that's your choice, as for me I will always love this place. I moved here 0 down, and first 2 months FREE. They've price matched, and offered some specials you can't turn down. It's quiet and even the kids are quiet, the people are friendly and look out for each other, grass and landscape well kept, trash service, W/D in most apts! So you make your judgements, but I will recommend this community to anyone.”

A recent change in my personal circumstances due to a medical issue, was addressed with true compassion and professionalism. The Office staff go out of their way to insure that residents are treated with respect and issues are addressed with optimum success. While others are "blaming" the Stonemist management for the crimes that have occurred here, this is Houston. My previous residence inside the loop had a much higher rate of car/residence break-ins and that was in the "upscale" area, River Oaks. Diligence and proactive safety measures are the responsibility of each resident. I have no problem recommending Stonemist as a great place to live.”

My car has been broke into my apartment has a strongly smell of mold. They never fix anything on time. The girl in the office has her son playing in the office during business hours. There is a lot of young kids living here and they are always throwing loud parties. They steal your parking spot which you pay 25.00 a month for. You make complaints and nothing is done. Under age drinking at the pool and drugs being done in the gym bathroom. It spears to be a nice place but if you have a family don't move here. I can't even take my kid to the pool in the summer. They also closed the pool and not open it for days. If you do decide to move here watch your lease agreement if you want 6 months they sign you for a year and not tell you until after you sign. I feel horrible I told my friends and others to move here when I did now they are stuck here putting up with the same. I told the office about a man watching me and hanging outside my window nothing done he lives here and has a lease so I had to call the cops. They did nothing to help me stay safe. I am a single mom of 2 and I was so scared to change clothes in my room I put up 2 curtains so it would black out the windows. This is no way to live!!!”
