“The Verano is a complex that clearly does not care about people. From the moment you enter the apartment, it is infested with cockroaches. It feels like they don’t even bother to fumigate before new residents move in. When you go to the office for your appointment and clearly explain what you want, they agree at first, but then they do whatever they want behind your back. For example, if you say you do not want carpet, they still install carpet. It makes absolutely no sense. They have several places where you can register your car, yet none of them actually work. Even after registering your vehicle, they still tow it. When you go to the office to complain, they treat the situation like a joke. To make things worse, during the conversation they claimed that another car was registered under my name, which is ridiculous since you have to register your car in multiple systems they provide. The management is completely incompetent.”

— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone I know. Since the new ownership takeover of the Verano, it's apparent their primary interest is manifested as a cash grab. Applying lipstick to a pig doesn't make it a show pony. The new ownership slapped some paint on the buildings but the old bones are still there. The aesthetics of the property leaves plenty to the imagination.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“When I 1st moved in it was ok for the most part. A few months in my toilet clogged and it was fixed but they had to cut a hole in the wall to repair and they covered up with a plastic sheet as supposed to replace it with sheet rock. Also there hot water outages often as well as roaches galore I see outdoors. Thank goodness I don’t have any inside my unit thanks to powdering my apartment every few months. My toliet now is clogged yet again and I’m being told I have to transfer apartments and on top of that the toliet has black mold in it. My apartment literally is by the city of Houston drain Instead of patching up issues get to the root of the problem and correct it. My lease is up in a few months and I will not be renewing as for what I pay here I can get a better nicer apartment with more amenities for the same price or a few dollars more”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I've lived here since April 2023. When I first moved in Anthony in the front office was very good about getting things done. However, since the management began to change everything has gotten steadily worse. I believe on-site management has changed hands three times since I've moved in and none of the new property managers seem to care about the tenants at all. The complex is very rundown and misrepresented in the online photos from the website. The water in the pool in my courtyard was a sickly green and was unusable for the entire summer even though it is part of my rent. The shared laundry rooms are so disgusting I won't use them. I had no hot water from 8/25/23 through 8/29/23 then again on 9/14/23 due to ongoing boiler issues. I opened urgent tickets and left an urgent service voicemail but got no response at all until I called the office and talked to Dominique who was then very dismissive. My downstairs neighbor is very loud at all hours, day and night. I've asked them to address it at least 5 times through tickets, I was told they "sent him an email" but nothing changed. In fact many of my "neighbors" are very loud and have no respect for others even though the lease stipulates that you are not to be obnoxiously loud especially after 10 PM but that is not the case. I had no issues to start with roaches, pest control was here weekly. However I have started seeing them lately, so that's a problem. Either pest control is no longer coming or one of my neighbors keeps a filthy household, possibly both. I will need to request that pest control come. Last week, 9/29/23 my outside door mat was taken and after addressing this with management it was subsequently found at the pool. Last night, 10/4/23 someone hit my door with something and ran away. I felt compelled to purchase a security doorbell camera today, 10/5/2023, as the complex has no security cameras on site at all. While it's a gated community the front gate is often left open, people "piggy back" frequently when I scan myself in, and it just doesn't feel safe at all. I pay my rent on time, usually early, keep to myself and keep my apartment very clean. I'd say I'm a tenant in good standing but if things stay this way I don't know if I will be renewing my lease come next April 2024.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“It's a peaceful environment for the most part. For those few tenants that are problematic, property management does an excellent job of rectifying those issues. They've always been good with having active security roaming around for safety measures as I did benefit from that service back in 2017 when dealing with a domestic dispute. Paying for rent has always been easy and with the latest management switch (INDIO Management), it's become even more convenient. I can honestly say that since I moved here, I've seen constant, steady growth and improvement to the property and it continues to get better with regard to renovations and added services to cater to the needs of the tenants. Over the years, I've been fortunate to have leasing management teams that put together nice gatherings for the tenants such as raffle ticket giveaways, pizza parties, and brunches every now and then. I can tell that they truly care about this property as I'm always seeing landscape workers tending to the trees, grass, and bushes. Trimming and cutting branches, repainting the wooden fences, and parking lot lines, and fixing potholes. It's just been a very nice and safe experience for me. I'd love to stay here permanently! Oh, and one last thing. I was a tenant here during Hurricane Harvey and I fled to Dallas for safety. I was surprised to see that when I came back, the apartment complex looked as if nothing happened. No flooding or any kind of hurricane damage. So, if you're looking for a place that doesn't flood, this area is a good no-flood zone.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I'VE YET TO RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION ON WHEN MY SERVICE CALL WILL BE HANDLED. I PUT IN REQUEST WITH NO RESPONSE AND NOW THE APARTMENT IS FALLING APART. I'M EXTREMELY IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE ON THIS PROBLEM”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“Overall I am enjoying my stay here. When I first moved in it was some things that really concerned me. Some of those have been rectified, but hopefully once management is stable, things will be better.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I have questioned my stay since I moved in because the first few weeks of me moving in and have already decided that I will not renew my lease when time comes. Some people don't realize that all it takes is one bad experience.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I hate my neighbors. they don't care about anyone but themselves. The one above me has a dog that barks for hours at a time, at random hours of the day and night, he slams his door every time he shuts it, which rattles my windows, and he fights with his SO. The one next to me leavers bits of trash everywhere and listens to loud, obnoxious music. The front gate got left open for a long time ( over a month) after it was damaged, resulting in a catalytic converter being stolen off my truck as it was parked right outside my window. this cost me 1200 dollars to replace and I only got a 400 dollar break on my rent. As far as I am concerned, you still owe me 800 dollars. I put in a request for problems with my bathroom sink weeks ago via your online portal and no one has come to fix it. It still drains slowly and when it gets to the overfill drains near the rim, that leaks all over anything I have stored under the sink. I have to call 10 times to get someone to answer me once when I call the office. I was forced to pay you extra money for trash collection, even though I am literally right next to the dumpster and wanted to decline the service. There is also ALWAYS trash everywhere. Every time there is work done, there are nail and screws everywhere. I pick them up often, myself, to try and avoid a flat tired on my truck.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I can say many things about different people since staff has changed a few times in the 2 years I lived there. There were some mismanagement issues in 2022 with their billing system/department and created a headache with back charges for almost half of the year in 2023, which also almost caused me an eviction. On the good side, their maintenance response has been top notch and I've been very pleased that living issues have been addressed fast.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“My experience at the community has been good for the most part. The only issue is trash and debris everywhere and more and more pests are seem to be coming out. There should be more pest control procedures in place.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I've lived in this complex a long time and we've had several different owners and management companies over the years. Indio is pretty good, they've made several improvements and updates that were needed and long overdue. However, their communication about when updates will be made and contractors will need access to our unit is severely lacking. Also, we're required to pay for Xfinity cable and internet even if we don't want it.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“The up keep and maintenance sucks. It's just a low budget apartment complex and ultimately you get what you pay for I suppose. The absolute worst part is that they contract with tow company's and tow cars including residents for minut reasons and it's sad because obviously if you live there, you are already in a lower incomed household and it is just not right to do that. My car has been towed twice one for not having a license plate on the front and backing in and the second reason was because "I was 30% over the line" but to have to pay $400 both times to get my vehicle is crazy and and down right wrong. They prey on their own residents and their company just because they can until something happens like a tow driver gets killed or people stand together to physically stop this HUSTLE!”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“Indio Management has come in and turned this place around! From keyless entries, to valet trash, and don't forget the kind, helpful, and knowledgeable staff in the leasing office -- and I am over the moon with my experience at The Verano!”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“The apartments are badly infested with roaches. The management changes often. The new manager is rude. They treat you like you can be put out for breathing wrong even though we pay over 1200 a month and have been here three years. The laundry room remains broken at all times. The pool remains dirty. I wouldn't recommend moving here at all and am looking for other lodging at the end of my lease.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I very much enjoy living here , it isn't too noisy and I feel safe I don't worry much about some one breaking in or messing with my vehicle and whenever I request for maintenance they get it done fast which is greatly appreciated”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“Staff is usually friendly and willing to assist you in any matter. My only complaint is if they have to do maintenance or an inspection on all units they won't tell you when they're coming to yours and expect pet owners to keep their pets locked in a kennel for 8 hours a day for 3 days straight depending on what unit you're in.”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“It's the worst apartment I've ever lived and I thought the old management was the worst but they're an angel compared to this Indio management. From the manager Anthony to his female staffs. We had the bedroom ceiling down for 4 days where we could literally see the sky from the bedroom and if it had rained, would've come straight down into the bedroom and maintenance asked us to move everything away from the room and not to go in there till it was fixed and we went to the office to ask if they could provide us temporal accommodation and we were told it initially that maintenance didn't tell them and even upon seeing the photos of no ceiling and sun shining down from the bedroom we were told it is a living condition and we kept asking if they could live in a room like that and they kept ignoring the question. I had a police officer "that they called" to take me out for complaining about the harsh living conditions being the one apologizing on their behalf..4 days and anything could have entered the room through the wide opening. Their corporate don't pick up calls or respond to emails. We keep having hot water cut of or brown water or no water at all while taking a shower, We pay for valley trash and follow every single rule from bagging the trash properly to the height of the trash but we still have to do trash ourselves because the man doesn't like to climb up the stairs. The public trash is hardly taken on time and whenever we have visitors it's so embarrassing because it looks like we moved to a very dirty environment which really is. The gates are barely ever fixed. Roaches everywhere and the pest control doesn't help and he told us they're always gonna come. I budget 12 dollars every week for insecticides because they're all over every wooden part of the house. The service request is hardly ever met and we have to keep sending emails and going to the office for more than a month before it's met. We've asked the cracks in the bathtub to be fixed for over a month now and the manager Anthony is very aware but they've ignored. We are never offered an apology for the inconveniences they've brought to us just excuses. I don't like moving around because of the nature of my job so I keep extending the lease even tho I come back home to a very unclean, chaotic looking apartment and management with terrible staffs from top to bottom. And the only control I have is making inside my apartment as beautiful and clean as I can but it's a constant battle with the roaches, brown water, no hot water in the cold and I have to wake up at 3am to get ready for work with a cold shower.. I will not recommend this apartment to my enemy and already making plans on moving out after this current lease contract regardless of the inconvenience it'll cost my wife and I.”
“This Community is very good , clean , safe , people living here are very friendly to each other . The Office workers and maintenance department are very serious doing their work at anytime during working hours that u need assistance from them . Your request is timely handed. The City of Houston Police makes patrol within the Property to ensure good security. These are some of the reasons why I love being here . It is also near to many businesses”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“Horrible apt and bad apt, need help moving out of this hole,I don't sleep here but pay every month,I am ready to be in court because I have enough evidence to back me up,I just came back from the office”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“I have been residing at Verano going on 6 years, it is my home, i have been thru a lot of challenges, but have overcome them all. One particular person stands out, i will never forget this lady.Ms. Karen Tinelli, she save my life thru her compassion, she is very professional and caring, she does her work exceedingly well. and I pray she stay with Verano for a long long time. She needs to be rewarded. Verano is looking better thanks to the new staff..”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“This is the absolute worse apartment I have ever lived in, cannot wait until my lease is up in October. The "Manager" is no help, doesn't returns calls , the office never answers the phone. Trash throughout property along with sewage all over the sidewalk, do they fix that NO!! I could go on and on but I won't. All I'm saying is yes the rent is cheap but the living experience says it all!!!!”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“My apartment is ok..was roach infested but i got my own extermination done.. Dont trust theres it sucks..but im writing this review because the new fat white lady there has such an attitude.. She is horrible and rude.. Please bring back francis.. I hate this new lady..and they added a stupid keycard to the gate.. I cant even order delivery..but yea that new lady sucks”
— 2800 S DAIRY ASHFORD RD · HOUSTON“We really enjoyed living at the Charleston. Nancy was the best manager ever!!!! It was bittersweet when we moved & we will definitely miss everyone there. It was always a pleasure to walk our dog, the people we met there have become lifelong friends. When we needed anything done, the maintenance man,Dan, was right there.”
