I lived at Kirby lofts for over a year, and I agree with other reviewers. If you are leasing, run away. Parking is horrible. Noise from street also is rather loud. Unfortunately my unit was next to one of the board members of the owners association. I was constantly getting complaints for noise coming from my tv and music. (Opra of all things) Finally, while cooking one Friday night at around 9pm I get a text "turn it down". I gave my notice and moved out. During my stay, I had no hot water in bathtub and fridge made more noise than I did! Nothing was ever done. I waited for my 1875.00 deposit, but come to find out that I was being fined for noise and moving after hours. Needless to say, the only complainant was the man in charge of levying fines! Great job if u can find it!! Of coarse, all fines and fees totalled to exactly 1875.00, how special is that! I now live in peace in a nice place downtown. Please stay away from the 8th floor.

My wife and I recently moved into Kirby Lofts a year ago and love it. The homeless population downtown is a problem but getting better. The street outside of Kirby Lofts is being renovated as I write this review. I lived in the suburbs all of my life and living downtown is the only place that we want to be now. The light rail outside my front door straight to the museum/medical center 10 minutes. Private access to the extensive tunnel system. Walking distance to the theatre and entertainment district, convention center, discovery green park, nightlife clubs, restaurants and the Phoenicia gourmet grocery store. Oh yea, 100 yards from the three best steak houses in the state.

Kirby Lofts on 917 Main is a FANTASTIC place to live! The on-site staff is amazing and very communicative. I am always aware of what is going on downtown and around the community from their weekly updates. The porter is always very helpful and willing to go out of his way to help with tasks not in his job description. I would highly recommend living here to any new resident. The icing on the cake is LOCATION. Right in the heart of Downtown Houston and everything is within walking distance. The only negative thing I would have to comment on is the homeless people that tend to congregate on Main St. Square. HPD has done a good job trying to clear all that up though.

worst place to live down town. The place smells so bad when you walk in and thats the first thing that everyone comments on. Management there is the worst that I have ever had to deal with and you get a different answer from every one.

Kirby Lofts is a great place to live for anyone working downtown and especially if you're on the tunnel system. Difficulties of the past are largely overcome. Location is central to just about everything and if you're buying the price per sq. ft. is extremely attractive relative to other condos.

Much of what was said last year is true, but I expect it's better now. We lived in a penthouse for a year. Debbie and Frank were always very responsive to our requests and did their best to make it a pleasant place. Don't feel sorry for the Katrina folks. Valet parking is inconvenient, but the valets are great! Very helpful and pleasant. Street noise is what you'd expect. The lobby is fine, but the lack of community areas is one reason that we left. The connection to the tunnel and the train was very convenient. The neighborhood stinks and the beggars were getting worse as we left, but living downtown was a generally good experience. My wife felt isolated when I traveled. The apartments are very nicely appointed with new floors, appliances, etc. Frank is great about fixing problems, always responding the day of the request. There are cheaper places out there, but the ones I looked at were either smaller or in less interesting/convenient locations. It took 60 days to get my deposit back, but it was trouble-free. I don't regret choosing Kirby Lofts on Main.

To whom it may concern these comments were made inregards to the individual whom use to have possession of the building. There are new owners of the building now. The lies
that were told has nothing to do with the present owners of the building. We the team at Kirby Lofts are really tring to turn the building around. For those of you that have been victimized by the previous, the the present Apologize......... Respectfully
Main Management

I am speechless! The staff @ Kirb Lofts On Main is by far the best! They have gone above and beyond to make Kirby Lofts home. I work seven days a week. Which left me with little time to move. Throughout the transition of me moving from my previous residence in Seabrook. The staff and management took it apon themselves to make it an effortless transition. The management made themselves readily available for both the moving, and cable companies. On my move in date all I had to do was unpack. Since I have moved in the staff and management have continued to go above and beyond to make my living experience as enjoyable, and convenient as possible. The Valet staff is a great team of Gentlemen that are very prompt and ontime. I use to call for my car every morning at 8:30 because I would leave promptly at 9:00 am. I plesently surprised to find my car waiting for me @ 8:50am as I was enjoying a morning run. This was done without any notice. When I made a service request to the Property Manager Debbie. She executed the request promptly. Thank you for all your help Kirby Lofts. I Love My Loft!

Jonathan Self

This establishment made promises they couldn't keep, nor did they care. Worst of all they took advantage of the folks from New Orleans who were evacuated to Houston because of Hurricane Kartina. They are opportunists in the worst way. They have no conscience. Shame on them!!!! But, they WILL get theirs. Establishments like this only exist for so long before the masses of people that they take advantage of outnumber them. Good always prevails over evil, and eventually they will see that!
