I would like to formally complain about our experience there. We stayed less than a week at the apartments. Our kids came to visit us since we have not seen them in over 2 months. They DID NOT STAY IN THE APARTMENT! Since I signed a no visitor policy. We had to spend money on a hotel for 4 nights to visit with them. Anyway Rocky came to our door and I was in another room. I could hear him threatening and yelling at my husband. My husband had just gotten out of the hospital 4 days ago after stem cell transplant. He was weak and could barely walk!!! Rocky DID NOT HAVE A MASK ON!!!! I came to see what was all the yelling about. I told Rocky to put on a mask my husband just released from hospital. He did not. He continued to be very rude, uncompassionate and mean to us.I said what is the problem he yelled you violated the rules. My 18 year old son carried my husband's baggage up to the room. My son was vaccinated and did not go into the apartment! The apartment door is open to the outside. I am a nurse and would never put my husband at great risk or any other cancer patient for that matter!! Rocky said he is worried about germs. While 4 smokers are chain smoking 5 feet away from our door all day and everyday, No masks on and a bucket of germ filled cigarette butts!!! This is supposed to be where cancer patients can recover!! To see staff smoking was appalling. Rocky does not care about germs at all, no masks and smokers cig butts sitting in a bucket for days!! I am horrified at his actions and actions of workers there.

It is unfortunate that I must fudge some of these answers (for instance, about being a renter, etc.) in order to get this posted and set you straight about the Hospitality Apartments. The Hospitality Apartments, 46 units less than 1 year old and located one mile south of the Medical Center. They offer FREE housing of up to three months per stay for out-of area (50 or so miles from downtown Houston) patients of hospitals in or near the Medical Center. There is one cost: $45 dollars on move-in that pays for professional cleaning at move-out. Phone service would also be another cost (and payable directly to the phone company), if needed. Though not connected with M. D. Anderson, the hospital offers a free shuttle bus service (runs every 20 minutes or so) between the apartments and the various M. D. Anderson facilities. Want more info? Visit http://hospitalityapartments.blogspot.com These apartments are supported 100% by volunteer donations and staff.
