my wife and I have been living here for a year now and I must admit it is surprisingly pleasant. maintainance has been prompt, the staff is friendly and willing to help with anything, and the complex is pretty quiet. They say cheap rent attracts troublemakers but that is not the case at haverstock. I definitely plan on renewing my lease and raising a family here

My friend was murdered here and I know of several other killings and two rapes. Also, the staff seem like they are on dope themselves, they will steal you blind. Do NOT pay your rent in cash!! Worst getto I ever lived in!

You might want to do a search on the Houston Chronicle site for Haverstock Hills Apartments before deciding to move in here. From the article dated 10/4/10: "Houston drug traffickers and gang members call it "Da Stock," as in, "Let's go to Da Stock and get some rock." This place is so awful it's unreal. I've never lived in such a place - Thank God! But I was a Early Childhood specialist and had to visit these apartments several times. I was afraid for my life. So many questionable people hanging out during the day. Why don't these MEN have jobs???? One of the parents told me they don't let their child go outside except to go to the car. I don't blame her. Smoking, drug activity, poor living conditions, danger - all contribute to this place being one of the worst ghettos I've ever seen. If this is all you can afford, please please please work hard and do whatever you can to get out of this place if you have children. If you are one of the offenders, stay there please. Don't spread your terror to nicer communities.

I can't say enough good things about Haverstock Hill Apartments. My apartment is really big and I like the location. A few months ago we all got new Air Conditioners and refrigerators and windows and doors. They are also building a new Resource Center at the apartments. The people in the resource center are great. They helped me write my resume and look for a job. My kids go there for the Boy Scouts and my daughter goes to the jewels Program, where they help teach her to be a good person. I am a single parent and I wouldn't be doing as good as what I am without the help of the people at Haverstock.
