I do recommend Avenue R. During the time I was a tenant, all the maintenance issues (common issues) were fixed on time, the leasing office staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. In general, the building amenities are catered to make the tenant's experience more enjoyable. I do recognize that sometimes people were loud around the pool area or did not follow the rules of the complex, but unfortunately not everyone takes pride in caring about the place they live and rent. However, the management does provide all the support needed to fix the problems and strive to make that complex a good place to stay. I was very happy that Avenue R was my home for more than a year. I encourage them to keep the good work and hope that with everyone's cooperation, this community gets even better. Luisa M.

Horrible place to live for the Money you pay for.. I would NOT say is Luxury! 1. Loud music at night 2. Elevator getting vomit on weekends 3. People not cleaning after their pets on the hall-ways 4 Cars getting break into it...and driving fast in such Tiny parking. 5 trash leaving out side in the parking space. And I can go on and on and on... No worth any dollar ...for what you pay for...There are better options. If you want a laid back and relax place to live Stay away!!!

this place is not worth the price. i cant even use the common areas like pool because its only open when the office is open.. who can use it? apparently people that dont have jobs or something. its dirty and i wish the hallways were cleaned up from dog poo.

At first the apartments seemed nice a couple years ago but it is superficial. I would not recommend to others. NOISE: HORRIBLE. The apartment building is poor quality and I would not term it as "luxury" by any standard. The construction is poor and the builders took many shortcuts to quickly have the project complete. I can constantly hear the sounds of footsteps of the unit above me. The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbors' music and personal interactions. GROUNDS: OUTSIDE LANDSCAPING IS NICE; OTHERWISE GROUNDS UPKEEP IS MINIMAL, MANY INSTANCES OF DOG POOP/FECES IN HALLWAYS FOR DAYS, GARAGE IS ALWAYS DIRTY. Management does not invest too heavily in keeping the facility clean. Over the past two years, less attention is placed into keeping the place clean and the orange accent painting, etc. is all fading. For a building only a few years old, it's already looking dated. I've often seen dog or cat poop/feces in the hallways or stairwells for days at a time or longer. The stairwells are never cleaned and the garage over the past 3 years has been cleaned one time. Recently, management installed speed bumps in the garage. Although the concept is okay, they installed these bumps which are almost like parking blocks rather than speed humps. If you have a nice sports car, you certainly wouldn't want to be constantly driving over these speed bumps. NEIGHBORHOOD: GOOD LOCATION. The location is convenient; near but far enough away from the Galleria. MAINTENANCE: When tickets are submitted, staff usually fix or attend to your request timely (next day) unless they are missing the part like the fridge filter (although they should keep enough on hand). STAFF: Generally staff is nice.

So happy to be moving in such a well kept apartment. The apartments are nice. The staff is uber friendly and responsive. All of this has made me feel I've made the right decision and I'm at home. The complex is a must see - definitely recommended.

After visiting Avenue R, I fell in love with not only the location but also the actual complex. The property was well maintained and the aroma in the hallway and elevator was very fresh. The leasing consultant was very knowledgeable and able to provided great information about the property/apartment. Also, the apartment amenities were up to date which is a major plus for the price. Richmond is not noisy; however, inside the apartment I could not hear outside noise. Avenue R nice!!!

Love living here but since new mangement took over earlier this year, maintenance has gone down tremendously! The common areas lack attention, the pools aren't maintained, and the small pool bathroom has urine & feces everywhere. No one has cleaned in weeks. If management can improve maintenance & step up by delivering the level of service you expect when paying the rent prices requested, then I would have no problem rating this apartment a 5, but until management steps up I will likely not renew my lease next year. There are too many similar properties in the area to choose from to put up with lack of concern for property maintenance & tenant needs.

Apartments are really nice. They are clean and no noise at all in the halls. It has many amenities that make the apartment complex even better. The two pools are really nice and not too crowded. The dance room and gym really nice. I love the apartments they're big and really nice. Better than any I've seen.
