Where do I start? Formally a resident of nearly 3 years, & unfortunately the quality of the community has been on a swift decline for the past 1-2 years now. Most importantly, the Alexan 5151 community is simply unsafe: a lot of drug activity going on in & around the building, multiple burglaries & break-ins (not just one, but two bikes of mine were stolen on separate occasions). I paid extra monthly for a reserved parking spot, which was inconvenient since it’s frequently blocked-in or occupied. A quick search on Airbnb will pull up multiple units of the community, which is a lease violation. The community manager; Annique Hogan, was outrageously rude, extremely unprofessional, & shockingly threatening to me during one instance in which I was assaulted by unauthorized Airbnb residents! Following the assault, these two Airbnb guests were immediately taken to the back offices to discuss in private & even more disturbing, allowed to remain on the premises for over 24 hours!! To make a bad situation worse… Annique, without justification, angrily yelled at me “I have an attorney & I’ll sue you!” & banned access to the leasing office, refusing to provide explanation nor an apology. Furthermore, my request for video footage of the entire incident was denied (so, what’s the point of cameras? Apparently not for the safety of residents). On top of the overly expensive rent prices, this incident forced me to dish out even more money into retaining an attorney of my own. Now, the units: walls are thin allowing you to hear everything, very dim lighting in bedrooms, low water pressure, poorly designed balcony quickly accumulates grime, my friend moved-in & had to use a bucket due to a leak from the ceiling. There’s major issues w packages -staff will just sit inside the leasing office and ignore/turn delivery drivers away, which resulted in my food delivery going bad on more than once occasion. The list of problems here goes on….. Its in your best interest avoid this property!
