They are horrible!! When we first moved unit was infested with bed bugs! And roaches! A few weeks later, the rats started showing bathrooms have water leaks in the ceiling. And to top it off, they break into cars too! My truck was broken into TWICE within a months the management doesn't care! Then, they don't tell you until you come in to get your keys that you pay all your bills to them...I've been paying for an a/c that Never cools, and for water that will scold you if ur not careful while bathing because it changes on its own.. Smh, for as much as they charge, I feel like I'm in the ------! I called myself downsizing and moving into an apartment from a 4 bedroom house that I was in for 8 years to save money for my daughters I lost out on more having to get rid of my kids mattresses due to the bedbugs. When never even knew bed bugs existed until moving here..Biggest mistake of my life! This property has soured my taste for all complexes..I'm moving back to a house. And I see they are just moving anyone in outside getting high in the parking lot at night..Not a place for children!

Recently I moved into Meyergrove. I was skeptical at first, but I leased inside the loop for under 1K. my apt is really nice its got wood floors, washer and dryer and everything is new. I knew about the past issues with flooding. I was looked into it and decided its Houston I lived in Pasadena and flooded a few years ago during Ike. I work in the medical center area and this was area was good for me and the price. They are doing all kinds of construction along the bayou and a the chance of this happening again is slim to none. I think I got a great deal. I have had no ac issues or problems except my remote wasn't programmed right and they fixed it. I have a small dog and I feel very comfortable living here and like the area for shopping. I read the reviews about flooding and it is what it is. I took a chance and think my odds are good since the city has made so many changes along the bayou. My co-worker is moving in next week.

Lease is up In Feb. CANNOT wait to move out of this hell. The AC never works right, I have had the AC dial on High since last may and never cools below 75 and that's a good day. Construction workers are rude, leave trash around and always have their music blaring. they are in the middle of a renovation but they start a project, stop and then come back 2weeks to finally finish the mess they started. the only good thing is the location.

In short, stay away! The complex flooded twice in a year (3+ feet), totaling cars and destroying all the downstairs units. The county/city is trying to improve the bayou so it doesn't flood as much, but that will take years to fully complete, and the risk will always be there. If you move in to Meyergrove, honestly, expect and prepare for a devastating flood. Don't rent a unit on the ground floor, and remember that the lot and jogging trail by Enterprise is the highest point, if you need to move your car (you can also park in nearby lots, like the Lowes shopping center). Also, the complex is likely to close when (not if) the next flood occurs, as the insurance isn't going to keep paying out, so don't expect to live here for long. The positives: - The neighbors have always been nice and quiet; I've never had any problems with them. The same is also true for the office staff (apart from one woman who's long gone)-they've been consistently friendly and helpful. - The area is very nice looking, with very easy access to the jogging/cycling trail (and, ahem, the bayou). The complex is near the freeway, TMC, restaurants, shopping, a bus stop, and a bus transit center. A Starbucks was recently put in across the street. - Elevators and indoor unit access, at least in some buildings - Large units with large balconies at reasonable rates - Recent property renovations: a new breaker (finally!), a gym, new paint, a security gate (although it was unnecessary), and stored-value laundry cards (no more quarters!) - Fast response from maintenance for work orders - Covered parking (and lots of it, with a lot of vacant units!) - Insignificant amount of crime The negatives (apart from the flooding): - Inconsistent and inadequate communication from staff and awkward deadlines (e.g., asking you to drop something off by X date and then being out of the office, so you can't hand it in) - No office dropbox (unless this has changed) - Packages aren't held in the office (again, unless this has changed), although when they used to take packages, they could never seem to find them and were awful about notfying you of their arrival, so maybe this isn't a huge loss? - Mold, mold, mold, and mold, especially with the flooding - Roaches! - The elevators are original to the buildings (at least mine was), and the buildings are ALMOST FIFTY YEARS OLD. They put in new flooring, paneling, and lights, so the elevator LOOKS nice, but don't be fooled! It's still the same elevator-rickety and sketchy as hell. I was stuck in it once, and when I called the emergency call button, the woman on the other end had no idea what I was talking about. Comforting! The doors only respond to touch, not movement (meaning they won't stop until they hit you!), and at least for a while after the renovation work, they'd start closing within a couple of seconds of opening. So basically, yes, there are elevators, but you shouldn't trust them at all. And when they break, it takes weeks for them to be fixed because they have trouble getting the parts for them. - Laundry rooms are accessed from the outside. The machines break semi-frequently. There's no recourse for lost money. The card-reloading machine is/was in an area with minimal security. For a very brief while during the renovations, that building literally had no outdoor lights at all, so you were using your debit/credit cards in pitch-black darkness. NICE. - No grills, no community events, and a small pool I also want to address the recent renovations (paid for by the insurance settlement). First, work crews would start at about 8 am, SIX days a week-which meant being woken up by yelling and loud equipment on a Saturday morning (a strange man being outside your THIRD-FLOOR window while you're in bed is AWESOME!). They'd pretty much continue until it got dark, so you had no peace except on Sundays. If this had only lasted for a week or a month, that'd be one thing, but this went on for like 4+ months, NOT counting the work that was done after the first flood. While this was going on, there were BROKEN STEPS on the stairs, loose or absent handrails, drywall dust EVERYWHERE, old nails and screws lying on the floor, and tools left lying around. This wasn't a case of "I found a couple of screws on the floor once," either-it was ALL THE TIME, for months. Basically, if the flooding hadn't driven me out, the renovations would have.

Stay FAR FAR FAR away. AC doesn't work, building leaks like crazy, bugs everywhere, staff is rude. lived here for just a year and couldn't be happier to move out. Yes there was a flood and I know they cannot control that but they can control the mess and how long it has taken to clean up. Staff is not helpful at all. we get 4 letters a week about how they are working on fixing everything but then it takes 3 more weeks before anything happens. the AC doe not work and had to go out and buy fans for my 1room apt. wash room is a joke turning all my whites brown and they never clean out the machines.

Roaches everywhere. It floods frequently. Lost a couple of cars in the flood. The apartment complex doesn't care if you've lost everything, you better have that rent money or they will be calling the next day. The A/C unit does not cool the apartment over 75 degrees. The humidity of the apartments does not allow for towels to dry. The maintenance does not seem to fix anything. Constantly under construction due to the floods. Noise all the time.

This apartment complex flooded (up to 5ft of water in the 1st floor apts) in 2015 and mold spread throughout the 2nd floor, where we lived for six months after the flood. There was so much MOLD,MOLD,MOLD I would find mold growing on many things in my apartment, e.g. clothes, toiletries, sofa, leather shoes and so many more items. My family and I began feeling sick due to MOLD exposure. I kept asking management to release me from my lease, but they refused. Management stated that the mold was happening because of the chiller/AC system (which is old broken and not going to be replaced) in the units, but i know it was due to the FLOODING!!! The worst apartment living experience ever!! MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD

I knew someone who once lived there. The "chilled water" a. c. system caused so much moisture in the apartment that a dehumidifier had to be used. Wet towels would not dry. How many times has it flooded over the last 20 years? Maybe it needs to be closed or the first floor apartments should be placed six feet above ground.

While I knew this apartment complex was old, I never once was told of previous flood problems and was extremely affected by Memorial Day floods. I lost my vehicles and was forced to remain in my lease with no option to leave. We've had no AC, dirt everywhere, roaches everywhere and management doesn't care. We keep getting told that the AC is fixed, where here we are, August 6th and AC shut down lastnight, no notice at all. This happens continuously and we are never informed nor offered any discounts on rent/utilities. If you can stand the heat, rent here for the convenience of the medical center and Bellaire schools.
