I’ve lived at The Sterling for over a year and a half and recently signed a new lease. Overall, my experience has been amazing for the following reasons: the staff is friendly and accessible, the residents are nice, the amenities are fun and it’s conveniently located (the park, Kroger, W Gray, etc.) more importantly, they’re very responsive to issues and concerns when they arise.

I have lived here over a year and had the best experience! I will be upgrading my unit to a bigger one and extending my stay. Couldn’t be happier. All the resident events are the best part of living here!

This is the worst apartment building I've ever lived in. I lived at The Sterling for a year, after two days my apartment was infested with ants. I moved to another unit to only have the same problem. To make matters worst, I relocated to Houston for a new job from a different state so I was doing this all while adjusting to living in another state and trying to prepare for my first day of work. In March I found black pellets underneath my sink and said hmm this is odd considering I don't have anything that looks like this substance underneath my sink, not sure why it would be here. The black pellets came back, I put in a maintenance order to have someone look at them. When maintenance came I was told they set mouse traps, but didn't see any in the unit. I confirmed that the Property Manager knew they had a mice infestation and deliberately chose not to tell tenants or do a thorough check of each apartment. I decided that is where I draw the line. Living in the most affluent zip code in Houston, paying over $2k for a luxury apartment rental to live with mice? I stayed in a hotel for several days, had to look for a new apartment, put money up front to put a deposit and rent down on a new place, paid movers. I received one month of rent back and it didn't come close to the amount of money I lost living in this building. Had to completely throw away my new rug and all my pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils because the mice destroyed it. While moving out in two days I saw a mouse physically run from my refrigerator to underneath my stove. I have a 4lb yorkie poo and I was wondering why he was acting so strange and wouldn't leave the top of the couch, well now I know it was because he was fighting for his life with the rats on a daily basis. The entire property staff is nonchalant and its really sad that they do not value their tenants or human beings for that matter. There are several other tenants that have and are currently still dealing with the same issue. If you value your sanity and cleanliness you will not live in this building. This is the worst managed property by Windsor Communities, I refuse to lease another unit at any of their properties.

I currently live here at the Sterling. ------ does not give a damn about residents safety. She has been emailed about another resident harassing me and she does not respond back. I have sent her several emails of each event no response. I have sent her a case number no response. If you would like more information and email details I will be glad to forward all emails to you. This is not the place to lease and any other bad reviews you see about this place is going to be 100% accurate. Also I have asked to get out of my lease and the owner advised their lawyer I need to drop all claims against the complex from my fair housing case and sign a confidentiality form basically give up all my rights in order to leave this complex with no charges. The fact that I am trying to leave this place for my safety and my sanity they won’t let me out. If you I want proof come visit me at the sterling when you come to the concierge desk just ask for me and I will come down and show you all the proof you need. I will be glad to send all documents. Not to mention the maintenance requests is wack as well. They try to tell you ohh you get this certain view but they won’t come clean the windows so you can enjoy this beautiful view on what they are trying to sale you. The appliances are dirt cheap the flooring is horrible the space is not worth the pay. Why am I still here because they won’t let me out of my lease. Whenever you come do a tour ask to speak to some of the residents or stop and ask them if you see them out.

Truly incredible community with the best amenities in Houston, by far! I toured a lot of places before making the choice to sign a lease at Sterling and I could not be happier with my decision. Maintenance and leasing staff is always so helpful and the property is beautiful. Also very walkable community, which is helpful since I moved from a place where walking to places wasn't so easy.
