I've lived in this complex for over two years and I used to think it was the best apartment complex ever. This has changed with the new management. This lady has NO customer service skills, she is blant and RUDE!!!!! The buildings are falling apart and they don't take good care of it! I used to recommend the apartments to everybody, now I can't wai to get out of here!

please don't make the mistake of leasing here. this place is falling apart/manager is the new owner of the property and was on the phone for 10 mins after i entered the leasing office just chatting with a friend instead of welcoming me to the complex or even offering me a seat/lots of noise in the area as well as the complex itself. i urge you not to even consider this hell hole!

I have been here 3 1/2 years.

THE GOOD:

-60 unit complex.
-Not alot of children running around.
-The managers are curteous.
-Good location (close to the freeways, clubs, bars, resturants, malls ect).
-Grounds are kept up for the most part.
-You are right next door to a former strip club, but now a belly dancing club (if you consider that a good thing)

THE BAD

-There have been 6 managers since I moved in. At one point in time, the owner had the property up for sale. I don't know if it ever changed hands though.
-9 times out of 10 when I call or come in for maintenence, I can expect to call or come in again at least once due to the manager not doing anything, maintenence not showing up, maintenence showing up and doing nothing, or if there are multiple things to fix, maintenence only fixing one thing.
-The complex is close to Richmond Ave. You can hear the bands from the clubs, the motorcycles revving on Sunday nights, and the drunken whooping of the club/bar goers, less so if you don't live facing Richmond (side 1) or Fountian View (side 2). Side 3 (the one facing the belly dancing bar) is the parking lot. If you have an apartment on that side, you will have a bedroom flush with the parking lot. Expect to hear all the noise that goes along with it. One former neighbor stopped sleeping in his bedroom for that reason.
-There is not enough parking space guests. The 10 spaces in front of the complex are mostly filled with residents. You cannot park inside the gate as a guest or you will get towed (heavily enforced) due to not having a sticker. Parking elsewhere is at the owners risk. Sometimes late at night there are no parking spots inside or outside the gate.
-Expect to have a very good antenna, cable service or satellite, because you have a good chance of not getting many channels using your tv regularly. This is an old complex.
-I only had one phone outlet in my apartment(the living room) There was another in the kitchen, but it didn't work. There are none at all in the bedroom. They refused to fix the kitchen one or install one in the bedroom. Suggested calling the phone company. Phone company wanted $150. I ended up running cord myself.
-Expect very hard water. You will need to clean your toilets daily or invest in Lime Away.
-A few cars have been vandalized and at least one has been stolen.
-The offices are closed Saturday and Sunday and most of the managers show up at least an hour later than the time posted. There is an emergency operator, but that is about as good as slipping a note in the manager's door, because unless it's an extreme emergency, your problem won't be solved until at least the next buisness day, and you will have to call them again anyway.

That was alot. There aren't many postings on this because the complex is so small. Many of the occupants are older. Many of the younger colege-aged to mid twenty year old people move out within a year. Only one of my neighbor friends still live here besides myself. The rest of them moved and wonder why I'm so dumb to still stay here. I reffered the one that's still here so we could split $400 (which they don't offer anymore) and he wasn't too happy with the results. He has a kid now, so I don't know if he will be moving anytime soon. I'm still here because I don't have the time to move.

There are many apartments down this street. Check them all out. This one may be better than a couple, but it is nowhere near the top of the list. I'd totally ignore the "Prior Management Opinion" and "Your search is over" posts. Maybe the complex was alot better way back then, but it isn't that way now.

I managed Wilshire Apts. from 1996 thru 2000 and it was the BEST property I ever managed. It was not the company I worked for or the location (which is great) it was the residents. Some of the residents have lived on the property for over a decade and the friendship and pleasantries between residents is wonderful! It is true that the residents DO make the apartments feel like HOME. Christine

Let me tell you what! This is the best apartment complex that I could have lived at. I knew when I drove past this place the first time that it had to be a nice place. I stopped in and life goes on from there. My neighbors are all real friendly. The wilshire staff is amazing. If I ever have problems I am able to call down to the office and within the hour I have a maintenence man knocking on my door. The ladies in the office are some of the most outgoing ladies that I have ever met and it makes it a lot comfortable to talk to someone who makes you feel at home everytime your in the office. I would recomend this place to my friends and family any day and I strongly recomend it to whom ever is looking for an apartment right now. You won´t be sorry.
