Are prices declining because of the mortgage issues? How many apt. in this high-rise? Thanks.

I just moved into the building and the security is great. Sammy's Club in building is wonderful, Outside a little unsafe but that is living downtown right now!

2016 Main is nice inside but the neighbood is very unsafe. You can not walk aroung the building without fear. It is next to the bus staion and over the Pierce overhead with a fire station next door. The noise has become awful. It is not safe to walk around Whie is has security guards and a policeman ( many arrest within the building) people are able to walk in the garage when the guards are not looking. My car was stolen from the building.<br> The water is cut off almost weekly. Maintence is almost non responsive. Residents needs are not considered. An example is the putting green that was put in. Only a few kids have used it and they are not allowed but management thought is would be a good selling point. The worst part is this year all we got was notice of new rules with fine from $250 to $500 for breaking the rules like dogs must go in frieght elevator and be carried in common areas. It is not dog friendly. The residents are not friendly. It takes 2 elevator to move in or out so the cost of moving is high. It is like living in a prison

Katrina forced me to move from New Orleans to Houston. Houston's traffic forced me to look at the 2016 Main. I now live at the 2016 Main and work a few blocks away.<br><br>I was a bit concerned about buying, but now I am sold. The convenient location, easily modifiable units (I've made many improvements to my unit), and the diverse people have really impressed me. It's very secure, the laundrette is very clean (even though I have since installed a super cool Bosch washer/dryer in my unit), the interior quickie mart is a gem for a late night diet coke ... dry cleaners, delivered package acceptance all add up to a pleasant living experience. <br><br>One of its saving graces is that it's a tried and true building, serving one purpose since 1965 ... apartment living. Beware of converted buildings or new construction! No more paper thin walls and floors for me! The 2016 Main has concrete for days.<br><br>The neighborhood is up and coming, although I wish gentrification would hurry up a bit! Pet owners tend to NOT pick up after their dogs, and the little bit of grassy areas are not very appealing to persnickety hounds! But if you go at least a block away, around the bank and Randall's, you can have some lush median grounds.
