Not being a native Houstonian I knew very little about the diversity of the neighborhoods here and their safety levels. I always knew they called Greenspoint "Gunspoint" and that the immediate area should be avoided if possible. My story begins with my husband and I in a rush to leave our costly monthly lease in the Galleria. We had made a phone call to Blue Bell Village and dealt with the very pleasant Mona and scheduled a visit to see the property. When we arrived the area was very well maintained, all the neighbors must have been asleep or at work and the neighborhood seemed downright quaint. The rent was right, the leasing agent was friendly and being in a time crunch we wrote the check for the deposit. When the time came to get our keys, Mona was not in the office. The nicety seemed to stop once the lease was signed. The other women in the leasing office were downright rude and insulting. This was just the beginning of the downward spiral that has been our experience at Blue Bell Village. I'll try my best to summarize as to avoid making this a novel: Our air conditioning unit has broken a total of 8 times. Maintenance has always come to fix it within a reasonable amount of time, but our A/C liked to break in the middle of August. The rental units are NOT insulated well AT ALL. When it's breezy outside, you can FEEL the air through the closed windows. Being that there is rarely a breeze mid-summer, when the A/C broke it was pretty much hell. The fact that they never replaced the unit that broke eight times is beyond me. Wasps are abundant here. Not everyone has allergies or extreme phobias such as myself, but they are never pleasant to have around. We have had 3 wasp nests (2 on the upstairs window and one in the dryer vent in the backyard. Wasps have also gotten inside through the gaps in the windows. It's March and I've already got another wasp nest that needs spraying. Their exterminator only comes once a week. The quality of the residents is appalling. Do they even run a criminal background check? Aside from the CONSTANT bass that shakes the floors from the neighbor's car across the way, the next door neighbor who refuses to turn down his bass on his home stereo, and aside from the people who just like to scream outside.... I have had to call the cops on the neighbors down the way from me because they ganged up on me, a defenseless woman, when I asked them to keep it down at 2:00 in the morning. I had to call 911 on the spot. Almost every day that I have been here I have not felt safe. Why not leave, you ask? My husband and I have finally saved enough money to leave this hell hole. Blue Bell Village is NOT a safe place. Neither is this area of Houston.

I've lived here since 2004. There have been some ups and downs about the apartments. I first moved into a 2 story home, right after the Rita hurricane someone broke into my house through the back door and a couple more homes on the same street. Then a couple yrs later someone attempted to steal my truck. After hard times I asked if I could be down sized to a smaller unit and within a week I was moving (yes, a week). They let me take my time to move to the new location which was a dup. No fee. Had a lil problem with that unit and the maint. crew came out and had to fix it a couple of times until they finally got outside help. This was major to me though. Then IKE. I had to move. Maint. crew insisted that I leave for the safety of my family so one of the guys told me to hold out a lil and he would have the perfect home for me and he did. This is where I am now Love It. Halloween night someone finally got in my truck and stole my radio and messed up my ignition or something. STILL, I stay. You may ask why....the whole Blue Bell crew (Leaseing office- my girl Mona, business office- Angie, and mait. Dee and I think his name is Fernando) these people are ANGELS to me you guys will never know. They are..... I can't even explain how cool these peps are. I now have my truck in the garage so I'm good. Oh ya, stop at EVERY stop sign cause the cops be waiting. I still rate them high. Would recommend my family members. Just put your car in garage and get home safety system :)

Lovely community. If a person didn't know any better, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this rental community (except for the apartment units within the subdivision) and an actual home buyer's community. Convenient location. Peaceful, quiet, and safe. Units are spacious, sound proof, clean and maintained well. There are, in addition to the duplexes and the apartments, patio and town homes availabe. Also, there are individual units. The latter cost more, of course, but this is a great place for a person or a young family who needs the comfort of a house without committing to a mortgage. I would recommend Blue Bell Village to anyone.

I have lived in Bluebell for 2 years. I rent a duplex that is really great. I never hear my neighbors and they say they never hear us. The walls must be made of some thick stuff because I really don't turn anything down. The fenced backyard is a nice feature, as is the garage. I live next to a pass through area, so somtimes people will throw junk in the yard. A minor annoyance and probably just kids. The apartments are well kept. They even come in and clean the carpets every 6 months, at no cost to the resident. The pool has a lifegaurd and is fairly well kept. The park is nice and well kept. Maitnence is very responsive, often coming within a few hours of my call. Before I moved in, I pulled a grid search to see what kind of criminal activity happened in the neighborhood. I wasn't too alarmed by what it said. I even learned that management contracts with HPD to drive through the neighborhood. If something bad is happing here, I haven't seen it.

As for the employee's everyone was super nice and was always willing to help you when you needed it. The only bad thing I have to say about the place is that I had my truck broken into twice and the fence was always falling down but other then that it was a nice place to live.

Sure they are all talk and smiles and want you to move in... but once you're here... it's all lip service after that! Been a resident for a while and the maintenance is just awful! Plan on waiting 2 or 3 days to get something fixed here! They jack the price of the rent up every year and the water too! But the service you get for your rental dollar goes way down! And if you complain they tell you 'Don't like it?? MOVE!!'<br>Plus there's a gang problem there and speeding card thru the village. At least 3 hit and runs reported in the past year and who pays to get your car fixed after it's hit like this?? YOU!!<br><br>Oh yeah. The supposedly landscaping they do? They use their 'own' and the majority if not all of the 'landscapers' dont speak English! Wouldnt be surprised if they are illegal immigrannts!! Someone needs to report them to I C E !!!<br><br><br>My advice...<br>PASS THIS PLACE OVER QUICK!<br><br>
