The apartments themselves are pretty nice. Granite kitchen tops, disposal, ice cube maker in the refrig, washer/dryer combo provided. Noise level is very low, rarely hear our neighbors. Large walk-in storage room/closet, although the bedroom closet proper is small. Recently doorside garbage pickup was started, very helpful. Public areas galore and a large community room. Management initially was excellent. Then new mgmt took over and has systematically dismantled our once-happy community. The first thing to go was a gate which actually shuts to the street. It is left standing open 24/7 so anyone can drive through. There aren't cameras to record anyone walking through the open front and back doors. The residents are vulnerable. The pool is small and not kept up. It may, or may not, be safe to swim in. The "spa"/Jacuzzi mostly doesn't work. We had one excellent maintenance guy for 200 apartments, but he was recently let go. Now we have two new maintenance men, so maybe things will get better. Our poor assistant manager does the paperwork for 200 apartments mostly by herself, very little help from the "head" manager, whose nasty attitude she has gradually adopted. It seems like the manager truly hates the residents plus she's a malicious gossip. We had jigsaw puzzles on the walls, framed under glass, which many residents helped put together. It was a community project, friendly and unique. We could walk the halls and point out the tractor we'd assembled, or the angel's wings we worked on. Mgmt took all pictures and puzzles off the walls, then painted the barren walls gray and white. Gray! like an institute or prison. Put up mostly monochromatic "artwork" like one finds in cheap hotels. Residents had to remove all items outside our doors, including doormats, wreaths, anything interesting with personality. Now any decoration has to be "approved" first. Christmas used to be a riot of color down all the hallways, everybody went crazy with the decorating. Happy. Now it's a bore. We did have the best cable deal in town at the Manor, through Comcast, an excellent basic package for $20, added onto the rent. That disappeared recently, but it could have been at Comcast's request, not sure. So we had to get our own cable. That cost $55 instead of $20, then my rent was raised $35. $90-$20=$70 increase to live there. Things are not looking at all appealing for our remaining at the "Manor".

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I do not even know where to begin! Little children are not allowed in the apartments. The only thing keeping my Grandmother going is having her grandchildren visit, which are not allowed at the apartment anymore. Family is NOT allowed to socialize in the common areas, pool, community rooms, etc. Also, they have removed the BEAUTIFUL puzzles from the hallways which were completed by the residents. Residents have NOTHING to look at in the hallways now. They are completely white walls with no decor. The biggest problem my grandmother has is roaches in her apartment. I was eating lunch there one day and I opened her cabinet in the kitchen and bugs were EVERYWHERE! It was absolutely disgusting! I really wanted to move her out that day. I just really hope I can save other people from moving here and having a horrible experience. If you care about your older loved ones, do not move them here!

I came her to find information I did not even make it to a leasing agent as when I walked through the door all I could here was yelling waking from the walkway to the lesson office I noticed it was the manager yelling at a resident who was in a Mobil chair at the top of her lungs she did not bother to calm down because a prospective client came into the place she continued verbally attacking this woman with the words I you don't like it leave what do you expect the woman who was trying to defend her self could barely raise her voice above an octave however she was visibly upset and left I opted out and walked away glad I took the video and sent it to local news agencies. I would not want my loved one treated this way no matter how upset they make a person. If you care for you loved ones don't send them here it seems like a modern day shady pubes treat the residents like crap except for when the family comes around stay away!!!

I just moved my mom here about three months ago. I think it is an amazing place for her. She can make friends. They have bingo twice a week, movie night once a week, coffee and other activities. It is smaller than her old house an that was an adjustment for her but it is still plenty big for an apartment. The mgmt has been very nice and offered me a free move in. People have been friendly. I give it two thumbs up so to speak... lol

I HAVE LIVED HERE AT THE MANOR FOR SEVERAL YRS AND HAVE BEEN THRU 3 DIFFERENT OFFICE AND MAINTENANCE STAFF. IT SEEMS TO BE GOING DOWN HILL. WE HAVE HAD 2 DIFFERENT MAINTENANCE STAFF LEAVE IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. OUR HOT TUB DOESNT WORK, IN FACT YOU COULD SAY WE DONT HAVE ONE SINCE IT HAS BEEN EMPTY FOR OVER A YEAR. WE USED TO HAVE SOME NICE AREAS TO VISIT IN BUT SOMEHOW THE FURNITURE KEEPS MISSING OR GOING TO OTHER PLACES. THE PET RULES ARE NOT BEING ENFORCED, THERE ARE CHILDREN PLAYING IN OUR COMPUTER ROOM LATE AT NIGHT AND NOT BEING KEPT IN THE RESIDENTS ROOMS,AND SOME RESIDENTS ARE WALKING AROUND IN THEIR NIGHT CLOTHES. WE HAVE AT LEAST 2 ALZHEIMER'S RESIDENTS WHO GET LOST AND HAVE TO BE HELPED HOME, AND 1 SPANISH SPEAKING LADY WITH NO! ENGLISH AT ALL WHO CONSTANTLY NEEDS TO BE SHOWN HER ROOM. WHO LEAVES SOMEONE ALONE WHO CAN'T COMMUNICATE THEIR NEEDS? THE HALLS NEED LIGHTS REPLACED AND THE BACK OF THE BUILDING HAS NO WORKING LIGHTS. THE AIR CONDITIONER IN SEVERAL HALL AREA'S ARE BROKE.THE UTSIDE DOORS NEED TO BE SECURED,HALL RUGS SHAMPOOED AND NEED TO ENFORCE THE "INDEPENDENT LIVING" RULE. TOO MANY HAVE ALL DAY CARE GIVERS. ALSO MANAGEMENT KEEPS PARKING IN THE RED ZONE IN FRONT OF BUILDING, AS DO OTHERS WHICH TIES UP THE SPACE FOR THE EMERGENCY VEHICLES.

This used to be a fun place to live, with people always getting together in the sitting areas and playing cards, putting puzzles together and just enjoying socializing. Then a new management took over and changed everything. The new management staff members are friendly one moment and the next moment they are very unpleasant for whatever reason. You never know if the nice personality is going to show up or the mean spirited one. I am not sure they are really happy working here. This new management company has turned a warm, fun place to live into a burdensome place to live. I noticed as time goes by I see less and less people coming out of their apartments as enjoying the common sitting areas. Lately, there are less people playing cards and enjoying what little amenities we have. The atmosphere has changes since this new management company took over so at this time I would not recommend this apartment complex. It is actually kind of sad.

We moved in a couple years ago. The management was outstanding, Johanne & Betty. They were friendly, knew everyone by name, took time to talk to us, very helpful. When you walked in, it smelled good, very clean. Under the second new mgmt crew, now it smells like cigarettes and dirty old people (that faint smell of decay and ashtrays). The carpets are looking worn and unvacuumed. They used to vacuum every 2 weeks or so and kept the entryways clean. The back entry by the mailboxes used to have a beautiful carved winged bench and two golden framed mirrors, very classy, now gone, and the comfy cushy white couch is gone. In their stead, new mgmt has put an uncomfortable old table with uncomfortable chairs and ugly duplicate photos in the space. We used to like to meet with our preacher friend while we waited for the church bus, but now the sitting area doesn't work. The numerous public areas were classy, well appointed and arranged with care, and most still are. But there's been a disappearance of many furniture pieces and knick-knacks, and some of the arrangement, or lack of, seems like a hodge-podge. I.e., new mgmt has bad taste and now goes around asking us to close our doors so we can't just look in on our neighbors to say "hi" because it's "forbidden". We pay a fair amount of money to live here and expected the high quality to continue, but we may end up moving to the other new 55 living where Johanna and Betty are now managing. There are no security cameras at any of the entries, so occasionally there's a rash of thefts. For about the last 5 months, any one of the three car gates is wide open at all times, plus the fact the gate code has never been changed so all maintenance-types plus friends/family have the "secret entry code". Makes us nervous. An SUV was stolen last year. PLUSES: Lots of activities, great community feeling among residents, jigsaw puzzles on each floor and on all the walls--very interesting, in-house beauty shop, computer room, movie room, free coffee, nice pool, craft fairs, nice apartments with washer-dryers, okay landscaping--some wonderful courtyards rather than parking lots. Love the gardening by the parking lot. No noise from neighboring apartments, very quiet. Good fire doors/construction. Fantastic holiday decorations year-round, especially Christmas.

This is a 55 and older only complex and my mom is about to move in here, so we dont have experience living here but I can tell you my impressions from visitng several times. It is kinda boring looking from outside but landscaped well and kept clean and freshly painted, the complex is only a few years old anyway. They ahve regualr rate and subsidised rates (long waiting list for both -my molm was on list for a year!) Inside are beautiful lobby areas on every floor- several - with expensive furntiure, desks, tables, couches - for visitng with family, friends, playing cardsm outting puzzles, etc. you could have family events in the areas even! Theya re like huge living rooms, and there are probably 4 or more on each of the 3 floors. And there are 4 elevators. They have large units with plenty storage too. Love this place.
