“The building management is very difficult to work with and unresponsive. Ever since the new management took over, my utility bill has increased by two-fold. I have called the property manager several times but failed to receive any explanation on the meter reading. I am paying $120-$130 in utilities for a 300+ soft studio apartment, this is ridiculous. Also I was charged for “Electric Chiller fee” for AC usage in the winter (Jan-Feb) which I never turned on. There is a lack of transparency on how they charge these utility fees, they told me to call the utility company, since they’re in charge of the utility bills, when I called they said they weren’t able to find an account number of my apartment with them, which is sus. They make it a pain for you to break the lease as well, with 2 month’s notice plus 2 month’s rent penalty which is unheard of. Also, the Kevin (tour guide) will hunt you down if you ever speak about your terrible experience in here and tell you not to speak with anyone about living here. No social events, no amenities and terrible staff (Quentin). I would suggest you moving elsewhere.”

Many amenities still being used to draw in new tenants have been broken or out of service for YEARS. Multiple rungs broken off of the 24th story rooftop for the past year and they finally covered them in caution tape after repeat complaints about safety. Management lies about hidden fees constantly and won't help eradicate them.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Nice place to live. Good location, the apartments have good price/quality for the amount you pay. Amenities are good too. The only thing is pipes are so old, and I prefer to do not drink water from the sink.”
“I have been disappointed in the upkeep and lack of access to amenities. Some things advertised have never been accessible in the two and a half years that I have been here, yet they continue to market them to the public. A very deceitful business practice. This may speak to the high turnover rate of tenants. Provide what you promise!”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“This apartment is really great and it is in a great location. The staff are helpful and friendly but some amenity spaces can use some upgrades but are still very enjoyable. The jacuzzi needs to work on the skypark.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Management is impossible to reach when you have an issue - I had to leave 12 messages before they returned a call about my broken stove two weeks later, dog park is filthy, literally covered in excrement and mgmt doesn't care, many more issues.”

— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“It has been a nice community here at MDA, the staff is very lovely and they are respectful to the tenets in the building. They are quick to fix any concerns that need maintenance. I do wish that whoever is at the front desk to pick up the phone more often than they do, I would rather answer from a person rather than an automated message system.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I moved in via sublease. The management office helped make the experience seamless, are there to answer questions, and are very responsive. The front desk staff are always helpful and cheerful upon coming home, picking up packages, or asking questions. The maintenance team takes great care of the building and are there to help when needed. The only downside are some of the amenities seem to not have been in use or working for quite some time (especially on the roof), but there are so many others included that it still makes living in the community amazing.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Great amenities , friendly staff and a great location. Occasionally hampered by the fact that it is an old building but that is what also gives you lovely high ceilings, good soundproofing. Front desk staff keep the building secure.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I love it here. All the staff members at the concierge desk are so nice and Jenna and Juan were incredibly amiable and helpful as well. Other residents here are friendly too! It also feels safe, I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a place to stay in the heart of the city.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“The experience at this community has been very up and down. The people are great, but nothing gets done. There's 3 elevators, 2 that usually work, and right now there's only been 1 that's been operational for the past 2 weeks. On top of that, work orders are not completed in a timely manner and/or they have to be mentioned multiple times to get anything done.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I don't have any major complaints. My particular unit is very close to the train which is quite loud. A lot of light also comes in at night which is a bit unfortunate. Otherwise this is a rather nice apartment building.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I am absolutely thrilled to share my exceptional experience living here and its incredible team. From the seamless move-in process to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, I knew I had found my perfect home. Juan, Jenna, Corey, the Chief engineer and the entire team deserve my heartfelt gratitude for their professionalism and dedication. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, making the transition effortless. The well-maintained grounds, modern amenities, and attention to detail in the apartments make this place a delight to come home to. I can confidently say that this community, is the perfect place to call home, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, well-managed, and inviting living experience.”

— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Great staff and location. Amenities are worn down and need updated. Staff and management is friendly and responsive. Residents are chill and it creates a laid back environment to live in. The amenities have potential to be the best in the loop but need to be updated as they are disappointing compared to what's advertised.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“The location is great. The price is not absurd for the amenities and location of the building. However, the staff in the leasing office do not get back to you in a timely manner. Maintenance requests are rarely ever addressed on time. The design of the apartments make no sense. Neighbors can be disrespectful.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I like apt rating because it tell you evrything itself the lies the people pose at something that it not. It will be better if someone actually check these apts and housing out and see if it best to rent out and our thing in our apts been mess up since may and plus our water is brown”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“The only problem I had was with my toilet. It it has problems with the rim jet. I think they somehow got clogged. Possibly mineral deposits. I haven't asked maintenance for help yet, so I don't really have any complaint. My only problem moving in was the toilet being clogged though.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Nice apartment. Perfect location. Helpful apartment officers. So far so good. I can't wait to start a new life in City Club Apartment MDA. So many places to eat and drink near the property. Seven eleven is right near the apartment.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Im excited for the amenities, but I don't think it makes sense to close the sky park dog area after 11 and it is really far from the historic building. Also, the fireplace upstairs doesn't work or it is unclear how to use it.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Clean the carpet, wash the walls, ??????????????,???????????????????????????????????????????? under the modern building rooftop?????:::::it's nasty???..”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Very nice building, good apartment and great location. We've enjoyed our stay and are planning to renew lease. Service is responsive . Fitness center is very convenient. The location is a significant advantage”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“I just started my lease from November 1. I have no much experience with the community. Recently, I have given a work order and they have done well and I am satisfied with their work. I just feel that the rent is bit higher that's the only drawback I found.”
— 63 E Lake St · Chicago“Honestly, my partner and I have seen so many managers and staff come and go in the time that we've lived here. There is obviously a problem in upper management evidenced by the low retention rate. -None of the community amenities are reliably open and upkept. For those that are operable anyways...For example, there have been several times that I have wanted to use the business center but the air conditioning doesn't work so it is unbearably hot to work in there, no working printer, and no working wi-fi. I've lived here almost two years and the hot tub hasn't been in operation despite reassurances from staff that it would be operable "soon". Also, when is the dog park going to be finished? It is just a nasty chunk of dry grass with dog poop everywhere. -The concierge can not be bothered for anything except packages without a resident getting attitude or being asked to do it themselves instead. For example, carts, reserving the theatre, maintenance requests, letting guests up, and general questions with the exception of Corey who is generally personable and helps assist in whatever way he can. -The maintenance team is short-staffed and ill-equipped to handle the standard day-to-day procedures. My partner and I have submitted several maintenance requests with many of them being automatically checked off despite no one actually coming to fix anything, we know because we receive a survey asking how they did. Those that have finally been completed took several months to complete despite being simple things like a clogged drain or a broken blind. The only maintenance person that I have actually seen fix anything around here is Robert. All of the other employees need to be replaced quite frankly because when they actually have come in to try and fix something, they give an excuse like "it's not really broken, just installed backward so you gotta use it like this to open it", or they claim that the problem is something else entirely, or come in and spend two hours making a mess and looking at the A/C to tell us that it is fixed when in reality they did NOTHING -and why did it require two of them?? Also, the area is generally unsafe and not kid-friendly. Thank you for taking this into consideration. I hope you find a better place to live.”
