“The best part about this apartment complex is Veronica. She is the building manager and just fantastic! When you call, ask for her. She makes this a wonderful place to live.”

While not a castle, it's a fairly comfortable place to live for a decent price, with some frustrations. *I've talked to neighbors who have moved and some who are still here who know of the alleged drug dealer. I've had one chance encounter with him in the common areas. He's pretty creepy IMHO. When he was living here there was some pretty frightening stuff going on. When he moved, thank the Lord, the problems went away with him. If you are looking for an ok place to live at a cheap price, this may be your space. Just know that it has issues, even without the alleged drug dealer. It's all about price.”

— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“My whole living experience from moving in to moving out was great. The management was very friendly and quickly responded to all my needs. I personally love vintage buildings, they have a certain charm to them. The neighborhood has everthing you need within a few blocks...lake, park, shopping, dining, nightlife, gym, theatre.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“You get what you pay for and this reminds me of it. The drug dealer who moved out raped my friend's son, then threatened him with a gun if he told anyone. We've taken this to the police and found out there are numerous others. It is my understanding that he continues this practice of exchanging drugs for sex at the new place he moved to under a stolen identity!!! All that being said, I wouldn't move into this place because it's dirty, dangerous still because the drug dealer still frequents the building, and the management is rude even if you are nice to them because they do not know how to be courteous.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“I lived on the floor with the alleged drug dealer, and, personally, I never had any encounters with him. I can also assure you that he has moved out.

That said, this apartment complex is nice if you are just moving to the city and need somewhere cheap to get yourself up and going. The apartment I have is kinda small, has little in the way of counter/storage space, and I am greatly looking forward to moving out -- but it is very inexpensive and includes all utilities (a huge plus since it's in a great area!)

The staff can be a little discourteous, but generally so long as you are polite and respectful you receive the same treatment.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“You get what you pay for, that's for sure. Lots of dirty and grime. Poor management. I agree with the reviews that talk about drug dealing and noise. Don't know the individuals mentioned, but heard about them. Nearly impossible to get anything repaired by management. I think they fire the whole bunch. Moved because I found that I wanted it to be safe.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“I live here and I'm moving for all the reasons everyone is talking about, including the people mentioned. Everytime I've asked for something to be fixed, it's NEVER happened. While I've not encountered the guy who deals drugs on the 6th floor, my friends and visitors have. He exposed himself to one of them and threatened two others who reported back that he appeared to be strung out on something. It's not safe in this building, not at all.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“Unsafe, frightening people, illegal activity all hours. I left because I was afraid for my life. I agree with what has been written here, and then some.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“While living at Shore Crest, I experienced an overall feeling that it was unsafe. The place is like a war zone in a lot of ways. Funky smells, loud noises, shady characters made me feel like I needed to move, so I did.”
— 420 W WRIGHTWOOD AVE · Lincoln Park“The interior of the apartments are nice and the rent is cheap - but the maintenance and management are a nightmare.
Phone calls to fix things are regularly ignored. Management staff is rude almost all the time. If you call them with a problem they will first blame you for it, and then PERHAPS hesitantly do something about it.
The office is only open 9-4 making it a nightmare for working people to collect packages, receive deliveries, speak to staff, make complaints, etc.
Elevator is incredibly slow so it must be a nightmare to live on the higher floors.
Staff are almost always rude to guests too.

”
