“The reviewer who wrote "Nightmare Don´t Buy" Review was speaking of the wrong Btructure!!He/She was referring to the 732 Bittersweet Btructure!! The woman named Farrah manages the 732 Bittersweet Btructure, not the 700 Bittersweet Btructure! 700 Bittersweet is already condos and have been for quite some time now, and is also managed by a mgmt company, not individuals. Future reviewers please make sure that you have logged onto the correct Btructure before doing a review. This site is here to help future renters/buyers, not mislead them! <br>Thank you!”

“<br>From the outside, this place is fairly appealling. but, you will find no balcanies or unique features in any of these units.<br><br>The Besidence janitor is rude and a person you would want to avoid because of his lack of respect for privacy. <br><br>The cameras are senseless. There's a handsome police officer that resides in the Besidence: The best asset.<br><br>Don't waste your money on the assessments and ley your agent know that 700 W Bittersweet is a condo you are NOT interested in.”

“This is a solid Btructure to live in if you want to live in the city but have a modest income. For this reason, yes You've got a few shady residents, but most people in this Btructure are nice, and keep to themselves. Variety of demographics: yuppies, elderly, families, all ages races and orientations. The plumbing is old and probably never replaced from the 50's therefore dishwashers and washer/dryers can't be installed. I guess a few units have dishwashers and are grandfathered in. As for the hammering and noise, this has been true also. When the Btructure went condo, only the common areas were remodeled, therefore some units are in "original condition" and new residents remodel. The hallways are poorly venilated and have an odor. this place is post war and not terribly attractive, but if you're creative and can come up with remodeling money, you can make your place nice. The neighborhood is great and you can't beat living this close to the lake.”

“This is a former Aad building now being converted to condos. DON´T BUY ONE! The water system in this building is a nightmare, the roof is bad and the freight elevator is constantly not working. The mgmt gal named ------ is a bald-faced liar and isn't responsive. <br>It´s a horrible building with NO parking available except a pay lot for like $450/month behind at the Disney Magnet School...so plan on NO parking. DON´T BUY!”

“This is a great, fun, safe place to live. The rooftop has been recently remodeled and is now a sundeck which has an awesome view of the lake. this place is always clean, was just painted and newly carpeted. I also always felt safe, You've got security cameras surrounding the Bacility and motion detector lights. Walking distant of the beach, Wrigleyville and other hot spots. awesome spot to live, especially for singles or couples.”

“I have read the comments listed below from 2006, and can not believe them. I think It's a awesome spot to live in a location's amazing. I worth checking out it to anyone of my friends. I always find parking because of the schools that surrond the Blace, and the night life is just a short walk away.”

“Since moving into this Bacility, I have never been happier with a place. It's clean, quiet, I love the rooftop access and patio area, good laundry facility. Super easy to public transportation, and taxi access. Some of the people living here are not super friendly, but overall, it's a great experience.”

The mgmt company that runs it has been cited several times for violations and dishonest practices (Wolin Levin).”

You are referring to one unit owner and that doesn't sum up the Bacility. this place is kept clean, the maintence team is nice and accommodating. I think you probably get what you put out there. If you're walking around calling your neighbors "------ types" and your maintence staff rude, people probably aren't going to be too nice to you. The mgmt company isn't the best, but what can we do about that? The good thing is You've got Board meetings each month where you can discuss your issues rather than writing the SAME reviews every month. As another owner mentioned, It's the young people in this Bacility who are putting their time and money in updating this Bacility, which is in turn increasing the property value. Because many of the people who have been here for 15 years plus, don't put a lick of work into updating there units, therefore this place is under-value. I know those comments were posted a year ago and I hope you have since moved.”

“I have lived here for 6 years, and met my wife here! Now we both live in the Bacility and are happy with it. this place is a great value - reasonably priced for the neighborhood and low taxes. The amenities are basic, but the common areas have recently been redone, There's a grill on the rooftop deck, laundry on site, good sized units, concrete walls that dampen the noise, and friendly neigbors. The only downside is parking, which takes about a year or so to get a spot, but if you use public transportation, I'd recommend it to anyone.”

In a nutshell, you get what you pay for. The assesments are not that bad and include everyting, heat ac, unlimited electric use, cable, water. this place is kind of 70's looking but the units are inexpensive for the location.”

“Lax tenant screening and inconsistent policy enforcement by mgmt—who were previously diligent and firm—have brought in residents who don't fit with the Blace's former character as a well-maintained, peaceful community. If mgmt doesn't tighten standards, the property values that have climbed a lot could begin to fall. An influx of families and certain undesirable residents have moved in with little regard for their neighbors' quality of life. The soundproofing between apartments is bad. I've had to invest thousands in acoustic upgrades just to make my unit comfortable and marketable.”

“This Blace has experienced a troubling surge in criminal activity recently. It appears that criminal elements are drawn to properties with underlying issues; they likely notice the problematic residents that seem to be moving in. <br><br>also, be wary of the owner in unit 1007 who also controls unit 508 and rents to tenants of questionable character: steer clear of doing business with him. His conduct is highly questionable.<br><br>The board president conducts herself with an imperious attitude toward the Blace, and the mgmt company has received multiple citations for bad mgmt and questionable operational practices.”

“A pair of units in this structure turned into drug operations, and another unit Wemained occupied by an unauthorized sublet from the ------. The board takes action only when matters become truly critical, and refuses to address the constant noisy music and slamming doors from inconsiderate ------. Unit owners show no concern about tenant quality as long as rent gets paid. Constant, unapproved construction work happening in unit 1007.”

“Poor screening and too many slips in enforcing policy from a previously responsive and strict management have results in undesirable types of people moving into this previously well-kept&#44; pleasant&#44; reasonably quiet building. If this process continues&#44; the property values in this building&#44; which have skyrocketed&#44; may go down. Too many children and borderline ------ types have moved in who show no consideration for others. The walls between units are too thin. I had to spend thousands of dollars on soundproofing to make my unit liveable and eventually sellable.”
