“Terrible terrible property manager! So rude and unprofessional. Maintenance staff were the only good thing about this property while residing there. Also grew tired of stinky dogs running all over the property and stinking up the hallways and elevator. If you want a dog, get a HOME not an apartment.”

“Although we have only recently moved into The Aberdeen West Loop, our experience thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our move in was as smooth as possible. We highly recommend The Aberdeen West Loop for anyone looking to move into an apartment in the area with a homey feel and a highly responsive and highly supportive staff.”

“The units at 22 N Aberdeen are modern and beautiful. The building is very well maintained. The manager, Stole, exceeded my expectations with his responsiveness and assistance with the move-in process. I highly recommend this building if you're looking for a a great West Loop location and excellent management.”

“So far it's been a great experience! Our community manager, Pierre, has been extremely helpful from start to finish. He was recently moved to a different property and Stole has been amazing as well! The apartment is clean, updated, and the location is perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. We're in a great area and there's so much to do around here. I would highly recommend this apartment building!”

“I saw the reviews about the horrible management and decided to apply anyway... bad decision. After paying the steep application fee, I spent 4 days trying to get ahold of somebody about my application to no avail. The leasing agents aren't able to help at all, they just direct you to the local office (which is currently closed, it seems). After days of frustration and contacting every number I found on their website, I finally heard back from their management. It took 3 more days for them to fully process my application. Overall frustrating and confusing experience.”

“I love my location and my apartment/balcony. I wish the office team was better at replying at emails and helping out when problems arise. I also wish there was a better sense of community. Get togethers would be nice.”

“Aberdeen is a gem of a place in Chicago. Great location and great facilities within each apartment. We have really enjoyed living here and have had minimal challenges. There is a lean staff supporting all of the community which I'm sure can be hard for the staff. All that said, it's been easy. The apartments are spacious and you're in the best part of the city.”

“Excellent location, great apartment, very happy with the location and the experience thus far. I enjoy walking to the florist, Target, restaurants, salon, dentist, etc. It is really nice how friendly this area is to dogs, lots of dogs in the west loop.”

“These are great apartments with very nice finishes. Great place to live if you don't need or want all the different amenities (gym, pool, etc) that come with (and increase the price) of many West Loop apartments.”

“When my wife and I first moved in, the building was cleaned and maintained very well. The building has since been sold and managed by a different company. Now, the building is deteriorating... the building is filthy and isn't properly maintained. For instance, the exterior windows haven't been cleaned in over 2 years. Trash is constantly piling up. Building management is unresponsive to most issues. We plan on moving out in a year when our lease is up.”

“Lived in this building for 2.5 years when it was brand new. Expected much more out of a new building. The walls and floors were paper thin, and we could hear our neighbors next to us and above us all of the time. The outer walls of the unit would get insanely cold during the winter months. The finishes were modern but felt cheaply done. The balconies were always dirty. We had a poor experience with management upon leaving the building. I've also recently tried reaching out to the current property managers as a package was errantly sent for me to this address. I have tried calling and reaching out online and have gotten zero response from the company. In my frustration with this, I've noticed how many current residents note their inability to reach management to get anything done at the building. Not being a current resident likely lessens my chances of receiving a response, but I would be highly concerned if I was a current or potential resident depending on this company if anything were to go wrong or if something was broken in a unit.”

“there is zero community within the building. Zero interaction between any residents and has never had a social event planned. The walls and ceilings are so thin that I can hear my neighbors conversations.”

“When I moved into this building it was owned and operated by a different management company. Since selling the buildind and under new management, our rent has gone up significantly each year and no new amentities or services have been offered. I love the location and the apartment itself, though the original builders definitely took some shortcut as it was their first property in the group. Waterton does a good job replying to requests quickly and keeping up the building, though some of the common areas are not as clean as they once were.”

“The aberdeen management group is incredibly unresponsive and untrustworthy. Additionally, the buildings are commonly dirty and do not receive attention from the cleaning staff. Great location but would recommend looking at other buildings if you want to live in west loop.”

“Pretty horrible experience the last year. First year was great and loved the building. Management was solid. Not the case anymore as management has not been helpful with requests and neighbors are loud and unfriendly.”

“Nice building with great finishings. Quiet. Good security. The management has demonstrated attention to all requests and responsive to anything I've needed. The common spaces are kept clean. I looked at a lot of building in the West Loop and this was by far the best value for money in terms of quality and size.”

“Apartment is a nice space with updated appliances and new construction. It is a clean and safe environment. Despite new construction, very noisy, thin walls and noisy flooring. Can easily hear neighbors day to day. Elevator is unreliable. Expensive for no amenities.”

“We have been disappointed with the management staff at the Aberdeen. Things break and never get fixed. The hallways of the building are left dirty. The building management never picks up or returns calls. All around this is terrible service. These apartments are over-priced given the lack of service and support for the residents.”

“It was a really great community. I love the area, and I chose it to be closer to work. The move-in process could've been better. I think it would be easier on the community manager to schedule an appointment per move-in tenant, so he or she will be on task instead of being overwhelmed. The parkway and sidewalk can use some more decor or nicer decorations, but it's not important as the interior of the apartments.”

“Units are very good size with good finishes. Staff is great and very helpful! Propert is very clean and safe. The property does not have an amenities but that is not a huge loss given the size of the units and outdoor space that comes with each unit.”

“While still very brief, we have had no complaints about the experience so far. Everything has been handled relatively quickly and professionally, the tenants of the building are friendly but respectful of privacy, etc. Only half complaint would be in the leasing process, we had to stay on the company a bit, but everything got settled with plenty of time to spare.”

“Terrible management. Pros: Location, the unit itself is still modern and nice. Cons: Waterton is the worst management company I have ever dealt with in 15 years of renting, they are rude, they do not respond to requests, they run the building like a frat house (maybe because all of the managers are right out of college). The building is dirty with dog pee all over the building, the windows haven't been washed in two years. My unit frequently smells like marijuana that blows in through the vents. There is no consistency in unit pricing, i.e. identical units are listed at $800 price differences. Every unit on my floor has turned over this summer, and 20 of the 50 units in the building are currently listed for rent. Overall, the building is a nightmare.”

“The interior / exterior of the building is well kept. The unit I live in is pretty new, so all my appliances work well! If there is ever an issue, the building staff does whatever is necessary to find a solution.”

“This is a solid apartment complex. There isn't much of a 'community' as there are no extra amenities aside covered parking and in-unit laundry [which isn't a bad thing]. It's very quiet, I work from home and find it quite easy to get things done throughout the day.”
