“BEWARE: This building is roach infested. The sales folks will try and tell you otherwise, but they are crawling everywhere. I had to tape my faucets and place stopper under bathroom door because no level of extermination from management worked. The building and apartments look nice, but I've warned you... it's not fun when you find a roach in your bed.”

The building was managed better when Mary C. was alive (R.I.P Mary!), but it wasn't Hasans fault that things started to fall apart, he had to manage several buildings for Realty & Mortgage. The apartments are smaller than the average dorm room & way overpriced. The realty company does not treat tenants equally, I was paying $550 for a 200 sq ft studio that faced the alley when I found out that a friend who was new to the building only paid $500. I hagled them down & they waived my ac fee, but I had to protest intensly. The area is great, but the building is just not worth living in. Most of the neighbors are noisy, talk loud on their cell phones in the hallway & the garbage backs up in the chute & stinks like mad! I'd say keep looking for the better deals. Afterall, prices could come down if noone is renting.”

They faxed him part of the application instead of the whole thing by error. They called, said he needed to do the other part, and sent it after I called them again about it. He never sent it back because I read about rodents and break-in problems. Obviously that is not the place for a young female to live alone. Somehow, after my father HAD NOT sent an application, i still got approved???!!! They called to ask if I wanted the place. I obviously did not. They refuse to give my $250 back because they say they had signature from my dad to cosign. BUT with no application, I do not see how that is. These people steal money from innocent college students who have none to spare. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM!!!!”
— 620 W SURF ST · Chicago“Forget about blown lights and a little noise, some break ins and a few rodents, this is the former apt. complex of the world's greatest singer/songwriter MICHAEL MCDERMOTT, whatever the rent is it's a bargain to live where the dream began.

check it out:

http://michael-mcdermott.com/index.php”
— 620 W SURF ST · Chicago“Terrible noise problems from neighbors - dozens of complaints by me and others have resulted in NOTHING. Manager or mgmnt co does not respond - EVER. Had break-in´s, rodent problems, laundry machine breakdowns (one still down after 3 mos, and only 3 machines for almost 50 unit bldg). Lights have not been replaced, even the apt I moved into was not cleaned at first - tub had enamle peeling off, carpet not cleaned, paint peeling.... Also managed by Realty & Mortgage - slum lords - avoid them at all costs.”
