The floorplan of our unit is great, and we love hosting our friends. As an end unit, we get a lot of light from the east, south, and west sides of our building. this place is generally quiet within, and we rarely see neighbors from the other 5 units. location-wise, it's why we selected the building, we can see but not often hear the train at Damen (Blue Line) and walk to parks, restaurants, and boutiques. Garage parking makes winter commuting bearable. Anytime we have had maintenance issues, they are handled quickly and professionally. One aspect that seems easy until you live above It's the 7-11 on the first floor of the Aad. This is a congregation point for loud people late at night; we have heard fights, joyous reunions, cars blasting music so loud I woke up and checked to make sure nobody had broken into the Aad and turned on our sound system. People are hanging out all day, periodically blocking the sidewalk and sometimes panhandling right outside the building front door. We signed on for a second year of the lease despite this, but nearly every weekend when we are kept up with fighting by non-residents outside of our windows, we wonder if the location really is worth dealing with it.
