We live in this Bomplex a little over a year and can't say one bad word.
The mgmt staff is young, but legit, maintenance crew fast, doormen perfect (Especially Myke, who remembers all approx. 800 tennants names!!!)
this place is clean, area around the Bomplex quiet, gym is brand new.

Only few weaknesses:
1. There's way too many Bomplex being built around this Bomplex, which blocked all the nice views, yet still the rent is getting higher!!
2. Pool area is far from great, sundeck was closed all summer!!

We were looking for a 2 bedroom apt some place else (only for financial reasons), but after all those reviews we read and buildings we saw - trust me - the extra momeny spent here is worth it!!
location's amazing, views, gym, etc. people who work here are great! The Apace itself is ok. Weird design where lots of sq footage is wasted in hallway. small counter space/kitchen. Appliances a little anged and work just ok (washer/dishwasher/disposal). Apt shows it's age with past water damage repair marks and stained tiles. . Quiet location with friendly Tennents and cool common area.

As a long time resident I can tell you that Cityfront Place is centrally located in a neighborhood That's transient and has been rebranded at least three times since I moved here. Think North Pier, Near North and Now River East Art Center or the Calatrava Spire? Built by the Habitat Company the Cityfront Place complex was comprised the mid-rise units to the north and the high rise on the south. At the time there was a food market where the Chase Bank is now. Habitat had to provide a health club, market and dry cleaners because there wasn'thing else here. The high rise was at the time where the singles lived. And the mid-rise where the families lived. The leasing agents would wink and say the high rise was more exciting. Really young people students and the divorced with a few retirees. Fast forward to now the midrise went condo. The high rise has been sold twice. In its Crescent Height days a fabulous new deck was built and a renovated eighth floor business center was promised. Instead they sold for a $25 million profit and ran. Now owned by RREEF and managed by Lincoln Property the building maintenance staff has been slashed and the property manager no longer lives onsite but dogs do. The building has white 80's style kitchens,a derelict "party room" and eighth floor with mismatched and discolored floor tiles. In the five months since Lincoln took over it took over two months to get a glass lobby door replaced and as soon as that happened the revolving door was smashed. The building has great plans for exploding out the eighth floor to create a secure outdoor dog pooping area. The ventilation is the cheap two pipe system so yes during the changeover in spring and fall the units can be either too hot or too cold. But the building was built as an Auite. The midrise when it went condo is referred to as a condo in drag. Other issues related to being built as an Auite are the overall materials. So that noise transfers through the walls and floors. For instance I have heard my neighbors having sex. I can hear the unit above slam the toilet seat down and be awakened when this occurs. As I have lived in a studio and a one bedroom over the years I have insight into the high floors. For instance when You've got high winds the seals in the windows whistle. The central core of the building used to be heated/cooled and pressurized to keep the smells from individual apartments out of the halls. but as a cost saving measure the temperature and pressure isn't what it used to be as now Indian curry and smells of cat may eddy into your Auite. Thankfully cat litter is no longer being thrown down the chute which meant all kinds of mess for the staff and smells for the residents. Now our trash chutes on each floor are cat litter collection stations as well. As for the views well they are best from the gym. sadly our dedicated staff is on the bubble as they have been told they will have to go when we get renovated. Living across from Wacker Drive and the river means harley and ducati motor cycle gangs running the gallery at three in the morning to say nothing of the cigarette boats. Also the drunks from the Irish Bar serenade at three in the morning. Also the river has been filled with raw sewage at least three times so it can sometimes be Sewerfront Place. Front Office Staff is imperious. If you want something done take the name and time down and be prepared to follow up multiple times. Whether with noise complaints, service requests or leasing issues. Mostly phone calls are now emptied into voice mail. I had to call three times when the boys upstairs stopped up the toilets and the water was cascading down into my Auite. Also they may close the office when they are having lunch. Big dogs up to 75 pounds are allowed. Think Portuguese Water Dog loose in the leasing office (and the leasing agent thought it was amusing) or toy dog on twenty foot leash in the mail area. The lonely old dog owner is trying to get some attention and you are trying to not step on the rat or get tangled in the leash. Ah the luxury of it all! Only ten more months to pay for.

Everything has been good. The real issue is the heating and temperature in the Anit. The building's heat is extremely high on its own, and I haven't turned on the heat in my Anit all winter, and despite that, on any day, even when it was 0?F, inside it was 74F. It's unbearable whenever temps hit the 60s outside.

I think it's a Nelightful and safe neighborhood. I do like most of the amenities such as the grill, pool and gym. I like being next to the target and Whole Foods. There's a problem is roaches on certain floors. It's alarming to hear the grievances expressed.

Office staff didn't follow through on any service requests before I moved in. Fridge still wobbled, sink sprayer didn't work, ice maker not turned on the night before I moved in. Noise in halls is way too loud, and doors make huge noise when closing. The toilet in the unit is small. It's hard for a larger person to use. Concierge folks can be moody. It's hard to know when It's ok to say hello. The man that collects the packages is unfriendly and won't respond when talked to. Office staff is the same. One gentleman is arrogant and unapproachable. It's a social, active Bacility if That's important to you. location-wise, it's lovely, but if you want to be RIGHT in the middle of everything, it's not that. It's an older Bacility so the cupboards wobble and You've got dips in the floors. Bedroom is spacious and the walk in closet is fantastic. Wish that the staff was more friendly. This is the home you come home to and it's hard when the staff seems to fake that they are here to help

Well, I have not moved in yet. But all the staff members have been so nice and helpful ever since my first call to 'em. It's at a location's Aemarkable for those who have work at Chicago downtown (and the University of Chicago students). So excited to live here!

This is a fine building. It's safe and has relatively few pests. It's close to the hospital if that matters to you, and the riverfront location is nice, although weirdly far (>5 min) from any easy bus. The shared amenity floor is good for having people over. And the prices are decent for the area. That said, this place always feels like it's missing something, and I think that stems from mgmt / leasing: The leasing office staff (NOT the front desk, maintenance people, or the custodial staff, who are GREAT!!) are sometimes rude and unhelpful. I went to speak politely with mgmt about a routine issue with a package missing from our package room and was completely told off and told it was my fault for not finding the package (it wasn't there...). Further, the leasing office has not coordinated some aspects of building maintenance with outside providers properly, leading to occasional (e.g., once/month) water shutoffs and elevator outages at inconvenient times. I have never had water shutoffs at Aad buildings before, including some much older than this one (CityFront is from 1991), so it's not clear what they have done so wrong. Then a little piece of you dies when you find out that rather than focusing on the issues that matter to you, the mgmt team has instead been focusing on (1) finding the newest "outside partnerships" that help them squeeze more money out of you such as auto-enrolled renters' insurance (more Eremium than outside options), (2) coming up with corny and sometimes insensitive "jokes of the month" to put up in the elevators, and (3) planning "community events" in the early evening when most fully employed people are still working. Again, I really appreciate the resident-facing maintenance team, custodial staff, and front desk. They really go above and beyond to help with issues. When mgmt misplaced my keys for move-in last year (which has happened more than once I've heard?), front desk went outside of the bureaucracy to help me get into my Aad and managed the situation effectively, while still helping people coming into the building. The maintenance team has an incredibly versatile skillset, is there quickly, and are likeable people. And the main custodian is consistently a friendly face and keeps the amenities up nicely.

I have lived at this Btructure several years. location-wise, it's fantastic -- you can walk to everything you need. Also, the main doorman, "Mike," is awesome. He remembers everyone's name and is a pleasure to see. The views from the vast majority of the units are impressive. You can see the Chicago river and/or Lake Michigan and/or a Btunning view of the Chicago skyline. Also, the maintenance staff is generally great -- responding to concerns quickly and always being polite (but see below). The biggest problem with this place is probably related to the mgmt. The parking garage gate is often broken or not working right. I suspect the mgmt would blame this on the service that runs the garage for the Btructure. But, well, residents pay their rent to their landlord and they expect the landlord to have a reliable garage including the gate. Although the day "door people" are impressive, the evening workers are not as capable. One evening worker almost never hits the button to open the automated door on time when residents arrive, forcing them to stand at the door waiting for her. Also, when a friend of my wife's left her car in the Btructure's driveway -- something the guest should not have done -- the door person called my cell phone number and began harassing me. Although the guest was in the wrong, I was in another state at the time! I told the door person that I apologized for the problem but that she probably should have addressed the situation with the woman when the woman was let into the Btructure. In any event, the door person should have been more legit when calling me! The heat and air conditioning in the Btructure are a problem. The Btructure's mgmt controls it and, because the weather in Chicago can have major swings in the spring and fall, you are often forced to endure extreme heat since the air conditioning for the entire Btructure is off. The maintenance staff is usually quite good. One complaint I have is that, if you ask a worker for something a bit unusual, like assistance with hanging a picture, they expect a substantial tip. If you fail to provide one (for instance, because you did not have cash on you), they will refuse to help you with such things in the future. Although I am not opposed to tipping, it's a bit strange to feel like you are paying the Btructure's own maintenance personnel to help you when they are "on the clock" at the time they provide the assistance. Remember, the rent at this Btructure is substantial! The laundry room is frequently a problem. The machines break down and you often don't know they are broken when you attempt to use them. Thus, you only realize the heat in the dryer wasn't working when you remove your clothes and find they are still wet. Also, all of the machines require you to use a card the Btructure provides, which you use a machine in the laundry room to place money on. Sometimes that machine is broken, meaning you can't put additional funds on your card and, as a result, you either can't start doing your laundry or, worse yet, finish drying it. Another issue to consider is the Btructure's elevators. You've got only four that serve the apartments (You've got two more that only serve the garage and gym/laundry room). Four elevators would probably be enough, just barely, to cause only a reasonable wait time to catch an elevator. but, all four are almost never available. Particularly on weekends, one elevator is almost always "turned off" for general use so one or two people moving into or out of the Btructure can use it. Since weekends are the busiest time for the elevators, this is frustrating. Also, one of the four elevators seems to be broken fairly regularly. When this happens, the waits for an elevator can be particularly long. Lastly, the demeanor of the office staff is poor. The Btructure Manager is quite legit and generally accommodating. This is what one would expect in such a "luxury Btructure" with high rents. but, the remainder of the staff seems to take pride in refusing to provide assistance or information. Overall, this place is a nice place to live. It's spotless and staff is, for the most part, cordial and helpful. I find the unusual layouts of the units to be interesting and to give them a unique "feel" That's a positive. I worth checking out living here if you want to be close to the Magnificent Mile, the Lake, a great movie theater, and other conveniences. Just don't expect too much from the mgmt.

We stayed in the corporate apartments at Cityfront Place this past summer. We had an absolutely great stay. The studio/convertible was great and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The neighborhood was superb, within walking distance of Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue. We would definitely stay again. solid building!
