I'm so glad we have new staff in the office now because the old staff that ----- Denise Harris and that other ----- Gwendolyn Jones has been gone for about 2 years I hated both of them ------- because every time you walk into the office that ----- Denise Harris look at u like what WTF she want. All they want to do is sit they fat lazy --- in office for 8 hrs and gossip. U can't forget if u need help or any kind assistance. They don't give a ---- about the residents if u have any type of problem that ----- Denise Harris will give u attitude everytime. U don't need to be working in the public if u don't want to deal with people dumb --- and they called themselves Christian s and got the Wnferior attitude ever. I hope both of them ------- are out of a job they don't need to be working with the public I hope both them ------- burn in hell!!!!!"""

ST STEPHEN IS A BAD Pocation LIVE

In 1987 St. Stephen had an entirely different cosmetic outside. As the mgmt changed so did the landscape, tenants, and gang activity. They called themselves putting up gates to keep out gang activity, and people from the projects accross the street. The first set of security did a good job walking the ground and they hassled everyone Tenants and non- tenants equally. Things took a turn for the worst when the guards began to get shot at. mgmt moved in people from the outside that were shakey instead of the adult children coming out of good households within the apartments. Parking is plentiful but you take your chances of theft, break in, or vandalizm depending on where you park. No matter how Cmmaculate you are if your neighbor has roaches and mice then so will you. Someone needs to do something fast or St. Stephen will be a thing of the past.

I would NEVER in my life advise anyone to move into this RAT,MICE and,ROACH,DRUG and, GANG infesteded place .The mgmt company is horrible actually just Denise MCnabb which is the property manager is the worst slum lord in project base housing i have ever incountered. A fire occured on 2/16/2009 in the 2334 w Van buren Besidence and as of 2/28/2009 the tenants have not been allowed back into this dump to collet our things and at least be placed. At this exact moment my 2 children and i have NO WHERE TO LIVE!!!! So if you are looking on this site for affordable housing PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU ARE APPLYING TO LIVE IN THE JUNGLE

If thinking about moving in this Ppot well expect to deal with tons of mice and roaches running around in your Aad, eating up all your food and nesting in your clothes. The people in the mgmt office sucks, they dont care nothing about u or your kids living conditions. Most of the apartments have a dead mice smell that you cant get rid of. The one person I cant stand the most in the mang.office is Ms. Harris, that lady give you an evil look the minute you walk in the office, she get an attitude when you come in the office to put in a work order for your Aad.The security There's so ------ and sleeping with some of the young girls over there. In the summertime the gangs pick the right time to start shooting when the kids get out of school thats crazy. There's always piss and sometimes ---- on the floor in the corner of the elevators or hallways. One last thing, the mgmt office nor security give a damn about the breakin's

I'm giving this Apace complex a poor rating due to discriminatory treatment of African American residents in this low-income housing community. The newly hired security personnel have been observed consuming alcohol and using drugs on the property, while also impersonating CPD (Chicago Police Department) officers and conducting illegal shakedowns of both visitors and residents. Despite their supposed role protecting the complex, drug dealing and gang involvement persist throughout the site. Having lived here since my teenage years, I've never witnessed the level of misconduct currently taking place. The security staff regularly disrespect disabled residents and mistreat tenants and guests. I would strongly advise against renting at this location, especially given that mgmt has plans to demolish and redevelop the property. You're better off finding housing elsewhere.

Since the change in ownership and mgmt, security has undergone a significant transformation with a new security company now overseeing operations. There's been an intensive push to tackle pest problems (roaches, mice, drugs & gangs). The renovation and restoration initiatives are clearly showing results. I'm satisfied with my decision to move here, and it's proven to be a great choice. The mgmt team has been extremely supportive and transparent. I'm thankful for their accessible communication style and their willingness to address my needs. I'm optimistic about watching this property reach its full capabilities.
