I absolutely loved this building! It was a great price for the amenities and location. The staff is awesome. The only issue is that the heating is inefficient. My roommate and I were shocked to find a $450 electric bill for the month of December. We called ComEd and were told this was less than the average bill on our floor. We adjusted to keeping the place cooler but still saw around a $300 monthly bill. But otherwise, it was an awesome place to live.

Beware of this outdated building, i wont be renewing my lease i moving out in a few months been here for more then couple of years. there gym is outdated and machines go down every week. there gym outdated especially there grimy carpet which i witness last year being steam cleaned. dingy outdated hallways , leaky windows all over the place from talking to my neighbors its a trend here. my electric bill out rages due to windows. And my rent nearly doubled also. they have a great staff doormen beside the night shift often sleeping on the desk .there maintenance staff nice guys and responsive when it comes to work orders and maintaining this out of date building. as for Gloria she probably been here since this place is built. and often keeping her office door closed , and puts on a fake smile rude bad vibes. Often heard yelling in a rude tone at door staff and maintenance staff. Gave me a hard time when i wanted to sub lease my unit. she was rude a disrespectful apparently from talking to some my neighbors they say the same. i came to her with issues that needed to get addressed i think its time to go lady...u know what i will go some where else where mgmt cares about there tenants

I lived in the bldg. in the 90's but thought I'd add my two cents, uh, four cents: PROS Location, location location Great for shopping, going to beach, running in park, beach Cooler in Summer by the lake security - just presence helps There's a view from the West side of bldg, none to East, some lake in corners - 2 bdrms (floor/ceiling windows) pool was never crowded, didn't charge earlier quiet walk-in closet newer appliances never saw bugs maintenance prompt Never heard of any theft in bldg. CONS I had a studio and spent $200 on heat alone in the winter (floor/ceiling windows) HVAC units in walls with no themostat, annoying to regulate Mgr at that time was difficult (90's) Doormen are merely security guards dressed up like doormen Lack of privacy. Doorman knows every feature of your life Doorman not your employee, mgmt's employee Female resident gets mugged almost every year while using alley/loading dock entrance Be careful! Tacky bldg. but may have since upgraded Definitely not Luxury apts I pd, get this, $660 for my studio back then Security cameras are pointed at loading dock/move out, NOT AT THE DOOR so security can see you safely getting in (back entrance) Studio isn't 550 sf. I measured. It's more like 385 sf. Tiny. Some repairs done cheaply but just complain and they'll come back Built in 1974 and slapped up cheaply to beat the new sprinkler ordinance in 1975 by Chicago Fire dept. Major fire on mezzanine. (limited to one apt.) Tenents fault. but NO SPRINKLERS, couldn't use the elevators, too much smoke in the stairwells to use, can't get through to doorman's phone. SCARY. Weather is really nasty off the lake when you live on it, major wind chill Overall, other than the utility expense, I much enjoyed living here. It's probably the only reasonably ?!* priced high rise on the Gold Coast. Much more Eostly than away from the lake. It's a location trade-off.

AVOID THIS PLACE. If tranquility and a responsive mgmt team matter to you, steer clear of 65 E. Scott. The leasing office won't take action regarding the excessive noise throughout the complex and tends to favor long-term residents over newcomers. Hands down the most unhelpful leasing office I've ever dealt with. Spare yourself the expense and hassle—find somewhere else to live.

The staff will treat you like a guest when you are trying to find an Auite but will treat you like garbage after you moved in. They even will charge you for the days you don't live there after you move out!!.

The location of this Besidence is incredible - you are conveniently located steps away from the lake, Michigan ave. shops, Rush St. restaurants and bars, Lincoln Park, and so much more. The maintenance staff responds promptly - always within 24 hrs. The door security and office staff are also incredibly Fffable and really make the place feel like home. Best of all, this is really affordable living, esp in such a great area.

In general, this property offers Pxcellent value given the spacious floor plans, desirable Gold Coast location and numerous facilities, such as round-the-clock door service, generous "pool and sun club" space and fitness center. Several of the door staff and the full maintenance crew are wonderful and help offset the frequently difficult and unwelcoming mgmt team. To provide some examples: - Despite repeated complaints from tenants to mgmt regarding EXCESSIVELY steep electricity charges ($200 during winter months), no action has been taken to work with ComEd or modernize apartments for improved energy conservation - Although the aquatic facility Iroves fantastic, it operates like a maximum security facility, as visitors are charged $10 per visit, yet continue to be regarded as unwelcome - Unit upgrades that are assured to long-time tenants seldom materialize and usually require extensive follow-up communications to be completed (when they happen at all) - Despite having plenty of available parking spots, tenants are unable to arrange paid guest parking in the accessible garage

I've been a resident at this building for 8 years and continue to call it home. My plan 's to relocate sometime in 2017 or 2018. It's a wonderful community to reside in!

I'll start with the GOOD of this building: the location is great. You're on a quiet, and safe street, but steps away from Lake Shore Drive, the bars and restaurants of Division Street and Gold Coast. Doormen are friendly and attentive and maintenance was always willing to help. The gym and pool are nice, and the laundry room gets the job done. Now the BAD: I have never interacted with someone who is as rude, inconsiderate and frankly immature as the property manager of this building. Gloria was terrible to work with and without going into a lengthy rant about what happened with me, I will just say she was completely unwilling to work with me to resolve an issue that was the building's fault. Not only was she unhelpful but she was rude and personally aggressive. In addition to that, as other reviewers have mentioned, the building does not retain heat at all- the cost of your electricity in the winter will be astronomical (around $200/month for my 2br). Be prepared to come home to a freezing apartment after a long day of having the heat off. The windows leaked during heavy rain.
