This is seriously not worth it for young renters!!!! Most people in the building are the original owners and they vote to keep everything the same - the corridors look like they haven't been renovated since the building was built, they won't add any furniture or new features to the rooftops Heating/cooling your apartment triples your electric bill and the landlords don't care when you get bug infestations (I've had ant problems and was told to call the exterminator myself) or need repairs (I had a leaky fridge for 2 weeks and a cracked floor as a result for 1 month) The views and location don't make up for all the other crap features of this building. Seriously go somewhere else in the city and save your money

I've been at marina city over 2 years now and I love it. Everything is close by and in walking distance. Parking is expensive but you don't need a car - it's much cheaper to rent one every few months or just take a cab rather than pay to park. To address the previous comment - the pimp dentist thing was years ago and if you don't like people who wear glitter and hot pants it's probably not the place for you. I've found the staff and mgt. very helpful. It is also worth noting that the elevators are very fast and efficient.

Management is the worst I've seen. They never fix anything and if they do they manage to charge it to the tenant - if you refuse to pay they threaten to take it out of the deposit anyway. EXCUSES! The ladies sit pretty in the air conditioned offices and manage to make every excuse on earth for not fixing things - its too old so cant be fixed. WOW! Anyways I am out of here thanks to them! Good luck if you plan to move here. Managements sucks.

Two words: pimp dentist. Two more: corrupt Board.

But the neighbors (the ones older than age 30 and higher than floor 30 who don't spit and toss firecrackers off the gigantic balconies) are community oriented, the location and views can't be beat, the wraparound roofdecks are to die for, and you walk everywhere.

And occasionally share an elevator with someone in glitter boots and hot pants.
