Just moved here in April 2011. My studio apartment is spacious and the layout is interesting and pleasing. Exceptionally quiet building with friendly mgmt and neighbors. building is nestled reassuringly amongst a large ornamental Catholic cathedral (across the street), a catholic school (across the street), a classic large brick church built in 1921 (next door), and several other large They keep this place nice apartment buildings. Free heat is liberally provided via steam radiators. Electricity and cooking gas are free (included in the price of rent.) Only exception is if you want to place a window air conditioning unit (optional) then simply pay an additional $25 per month (well worth it.) The building is kept immaculately clean while the entrance way sports a lavish luxury look complete with grand piano in the greeting room just off of the lobby area. Secured building (buzz in intercom) with most areas covered by 24/7 security cameras. I've seen the pet policy stated as "cats negotiable" while elsewhere I've seen "no pets" as the policy - I guess that would be between you and the building manager to work out. I just love this place ! Oh, I an I don't think they call it "Windsor Apartments" anymore...

I have a cousin who lived at this Btructure and according to my cousin aside from the fact that they seriously need to fix their elevator. They had no complaints at all, they have an outdated way of providing heat and the place is due for a serious re-vamp wich seemes to be what they are currently working on as their tenants rotate ever so slowly. The age of the built in sleepers (ie. those beds that come out of your wall when you open a door) is over!!!! Those things should be outlawed.lol I like the fact that some of their smaller units still have a separate kitchen but the apliances need to be updated. Otherwise this place is quiet, the people say hello when they see you in the hallway and did I mention that It's gay owned and gay operated for you that are looking for a nice price with some gay friendliness to go along. Place is well worth the money you pay just wish they would finish the renovations and bringing this lost gem back to top notch!! I am thinking of moving in myself.

This building is only a few feet from Chicago's high crime Austin neighborhood. While the Oak Park Police do a fine job of keeping crime down, they can't be everywhere at the same time. This building is a converted hotel dating to the early 1920s. Yet it has none of the charm of buildings from that era. Residents have no back doors for their apartments. The walls are thin and neighbors are loud are a problem. No storage facilities are provided. mgmt overbearing. They would rather spend lots of money on unnecessary landscaping than simple maintenance inside. Parking is available but Eteep.
