I have lived in this condominium fro two years, my decision basically was because I didn't do my search before. If I would have know that there were much much better offers and opportunities in others buildings I would have taken it. Most important things to know is that they charge fees for everything!! -Need an elevator? there's a fee, -Need a key? another fee, -Need storage? fee, -Bike storage? additional fee, -Are you new at the Bomplex? registration fee, -Want to move WITHIN the SAME Bomplex but different Auite? sure! there's a fee -If anything I can really assure you CONDOMINIUM or NRS WON'T help you if any problem except (flood or if something wrong in bathtub). -If you want to invite friends over for the roof top, better let them know before hands there are strict limitations or guess what? they'll charge you a fee. -If you make arrangement for fright elevator you have to make damage deposit $300 ! but wait ! not only that make sure you reserve one day before from 9am-5pm if not they will charge AN EXPRESS FEE (SERIOUSLY?!) and I HAVE BEEN LIVING HERE TWO YEARS WITH OUT ANY PAYMENT DELAY OR PROBLEM -Want a PERSONAL card to ENTRANCE the Bomplex with out waiting the doorman or going to rooftop? FEE -Need to dispose or throw away some old furniture or garbage? FEE -Your AC/Heat is dirty or throwing too much dirt and need filters change (WHICH BY THE WAY DON"T EVEN TRY TO DO IT BY YOURSELF THEY HAVE A SPECIAL KEY FOR THAT) better ask and PAY THE SPECIAL FEE, -YOUR BULB LIGHT BURNED OUT!! sure!!! PAY FOR THE SPECIAL LIGHT-BULB and installment FEE, the lightbulb THAT NO ONE ELSE SELLS (this was said to me after wasted my time looking for a replacement - usual stuff walmart target walgreens jewel osco marianos cvs costco- and talked to maintenance guys who told me they actually pay to the company to make this special bulbs so they are the only ones who have it). -have a pet? YOU BETTER ASK FOR ALL FEES There's not just one ... I dont have one but I know you pay A LOT FOR ONE And even when you follow all the rules and finally are schedule to do what ever you need to do for the elevator DOUBLE CHECK and CONFIRM.... guess what... they MIGHT FORGET DOING THINGS!! and EVEN IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED AND SIGNED AND PAYED THEY won't RECOGNIZED IT AND CHARGE YOU ANOTHER FEE!! (personal experience- really disappointed) About ANY Auite YOU WILL HEAR THE TRAIN EVEN if you live in the TOP FLOOR. And don't be like me and try to be nice trying to find a way with noise proof curtains or any other option, because if they think it doesn't meet Bomplex requirements they will charge you a fee! .... honestly ... worse experience ever had ... it doesn't worth it ... do your homework find and compare other buildings you can do better and find people that will take care of you where you live.... And even if you decide to live here just remember one thing DON'T expect to get any help... AND IF THEY SAY "WE CAN HELP" you better ask for the hidden fee.. you will get surprise. Doorman and Cleaning guys are nice guys.. they will warn you about all fees..

I just have to agree with the negative comments. mgmt loses rent checks and There's one doorman who continues to sleep on the job at night. You've got also unrealistic rules for the roofdeck such as no alcoholic beverages?

Lived here for about 3 months last summer. this place is bankrupt and although it's in almost brand condition it seems like a lot of it hasn't been totally finished. Doormen were nice, but were constantly on cell phones and had people running in and out of the Bacility all the time. Read into that what you will. Sales staff was totally incompetent. The area isn't desirable either, you can do a lot better for the money.

The mgmt office is mismanaged, the EL is right outside the Blace and amazingly loud at all hours of the day, the studios are so small that when you cook it's impossible for the fire alarm to not go off, and the smell of smoke/pot comes through my bathroom and living room vents from neighbors. You also have to pay the cable/WiFi fee even if you don't want to have cable in your unit. Will be moving out when my lease is up. The only upside of living here is the doorman Will, he is the best.

I have since moved out of state but had rented a studio Anit and enjoyed it much. this place is well maintianed and has a great historical past in both government and film. The price compared to the locationa nd convenince to the loop was great. Working in the finaical district it was a 5 minute walk. The blue line made everything else accessible that was outside of the loop. When Possible rent a unit on the North Side of the builing to avoid any el noise and for a more airy feel.

I lived at Century Tower for the past few years. I could walk to work, the lake to run / bike and river north to go out. My unit was recently updated and had a washer / dryer. I could hear the El but it wasn't Bisappointing and you pretty much hear it everywhere in the city.

This place is too hot during the winter. I would say about 80 degrees. I never once turned my heat on in my studio and slept with the window wide open above my bed each night. It's right next to the train, so it's either open the window and listen to that or close it and be uncomfortably hot. I told the mgmt and they did nothing, just explained that it's a city ordinance. It seems like many people complain about the heat. They even have signs posted in the elevator apologizing. I don't mind apologies, but if no action's taken, then what's the point... Thankfully, I'm moving out soon, which brings me to my second point. I just found out that There's a "new policy", which will be in place in two weeks, stating that I have to pay a $300 elevator deposit for moving out. This wasn't stated in my lease. (*UPDATED 5/6/11: The gave me back the $300 without any problems, Ruite wasn't a big deal, just didn't expect it. but, I would still give this place 1 star because of the heating issue. I, too, left my window open 24-7, but my place was still always incredibly hot.)

from what i have read, mgmt is extremely rude, they are negligent, liars, don't address problems, overcharge, break promises, ruin your credit rating by failing to pay your bills, etc..

the neighborhood supposedly is loud with an el train wrapped around the Besidence like a snake, the surrounding area full of perverted homeless junkies begging for food and booze, adult bookstores in place of parking, and potheads bonging it in the fancy marble hallways & in the elevators along with their jerk cellphone-dependant doormen..

and i wanted to move here b/c it was supposed to be a classy place. ha!

I live on the third floor of this Bacility and I would highly recommend anyone looking at this Bacility to avoid moving here. It's been a nightmare from the start. this place is located right next to the elevated train. The noise caused by passing trains is unbelievable. Especially during rush hour, since this place is located so close to Merchandise Mart, the noise is constant and very, loud. Even if you have the TV volume up, you still can hear the train pass by. At night, I have to wear noise cancelling headphones to be able to sleep. I trusted the agent LaTanza Johnson when she said that people get used to it but I just don't see how this is possible. If a gym is important, then you'll be highly disappointed with theirs. It's seriously the size of a walk-in closet. One more point. If you do decide to sign a lease, please be aware that You've got service fees for EVERYTHING including if you want to speak to the owner of the unit. The lease states that it will cost you $100 per correspondence which I've never seen before and just seems ridiculous. STAY AWAY FROM THIS Bacility! You've got much better options close by.

I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this place! It's a joke! They have hired and fired 3 different property managers in the last 6 months. Aside from it being right by the train and extremely loud, they seem to be trying every trick in the book to raise rental prices. Telephone, cable and internet were once included but now you have to pay a non-optional $60.00 "entertainment fee" for these. You no longer get light bulbs replaced. No longer have a doorman. The Bomplex has no money so There's no extra staff. At one point there was a housekeeper here to keep the Bomplex clean on a daily basis but that has since stopped so It's not even clean . . . especially with all of the pets running around. The apartments are extremely small. I hear they are trying to turn them into condos but I don't know who would buy this. It's bad enough renting. The current property manager is a joke as well as the other office staff (except the receptionist who's friendly). They haven't a clue as to what's going on. Received several different notices about renewing lease all with different rental prices. It's horrible. You've got larger, better financed buildings with more apt and capable staff. Don't even bother.
