BJB Developers bought the Bacility last year and they are living up to their (bad) reputation. Now called Millenium Park Plaza the only good thing about this place is its location near Millenium Park. Really terrible Bacility to live in. <br>The remodeling they are doing looks nice when you walk thru but all done on the cheap and they whittled down the maintenance staff so low that your lease will probably run out before they fix anything.

New ownership for the past year and really going down hill. Maintenance takes forever and mgmt staff is rude. Lots of long-term tenants are moving out in droves. Occupancy was so down they had to cut deals with university housing. grimy hallways, broken elevators, old musty carpet, ugh.<br>For the high prices you would hope for better service and a world class Bomplex. <br>

I stayed here during a corporate program put together by a major chicago firm. This has to be the most unfriendly, rude, and insulting Pite I´ve every lived in.

This was the most amazing thing I've ever run across in Auite hunting. I called to set up an appointment to see an Auite, they took my info and set a time fo me to come in the next day. When I got there they had me complete a preliminary info form asking for my name, address, etc. They also asked what are the most important things I'm looking for, and I mentioned location. After that, they asked how much I wanted to pay and of course I gave an estimate on the lower end of the range ($1100 - not too low in reality). Why would one give a high estimate? All these companies always raise their prices from what's in their ads anyway. You tell them a price and they say "well, we have ..." and add about $200 to what you initially said. And when you see the Auite you decide if it's worth it or not. But this place was different, they said they have nothing in that range (really?) and went to get a whole bunch of brochures for their other properties and told me I could go to those and find an Auite. None of those properties were downtown. They are obviously trying to get people to go to their other more out of the way properties. I couldn't believe that they wouldn't show me an Auite. I thought it was illegal in the City of Chicago to not show an Auite when you advertise that you are renting them and then you make someone an appointment for them to come in and see the Auite. Anyway, I would never bother calling this place again. It's just a waste of time to go there to see an Auite as they probably won't show it to you anyway.

I was wary at first when the leasing person was obnoxious and rude, but the location was ideal for me. Later as I moved in, I noticed that most of the staff are rude. Most want some tip of some sort to continue to nice. I tip for service, not for people to be nice to me. Buyer beware. You've got better options in the vicinity...look around!

We´ve lived her a number of years and love the neighborhood and the Besidence. Apartments are kept up well and have nice layouts and plenty of closet space. Health Club, Dry Cleaner, Salon and grocery store (with liquor and videos) add to the convenience. Walking distance from everything you need including Millenium Park. Decor is a bit outdated but they appear to be making changes. safe Besidence with staff's super friendly.

This place needs to renovate their trash system. The TRASH permeates throughout the garage, the sidewalk near the back entrance of the Besidence, elevators, and ventilation system. mgmt needs to definitely upgrade the disposal area.

Doral houses several first floor retail shops, offices on the lower floors and apartments on the higher floors. location-wise, it's great--a block from the north east corner of the Loop, a block from the new Millennium Park and next to Illinois Center. It's unfortunate that location is about the only feature Doral can hype. <br> <br>On a recent visit, I looked at several apartments: a studio, 1-bedroom and 1-bedroom deluxe. The leasing agent was friendly and legit. While touring each unit, I noticed a strange similarity: some of the floors felt slightly uneven, even worse, two of the units I toured had living room floors which were visibly slanting. The condition of each unit visited was much like the rest of the Btructure--sparsely remodeled and in need of a little tender loving care. The switch plates in the units had more coats of paint applied over them than I have ever seen in any rental Btructure. The HVAC window units are electric (get ready for astronomical electric bills if you use them often). <br> <br>Several areas in the Btructure, especially the lobby, had patchwork remodeling jobs--barely anything other than a few paint jobs and Windex seem to have been spent on remodeling. The lobby had all the warmth of 1960s hotel begging for a proper remodeling. What's even more amazing is that Doral was built in 1982. For a Btructure with a prominent location, Doral is a sad reflection of the jaded elegance it had decades ago when downtown living was somewhat a novelty and modern architecture was at its most fake. Even the model apartments shown need contemporary remodeling--the models have mirrored walls in the bedroom and living areas (oh, so early 1980s!), tacky furnishings and strange custom-built wood boxes which were not standard in any of the rental units. <br> <br>The few bright spots are the top-floor pool (one wonders why there needs to be a large wheelchair ramp from the pool lobby to the elevated pool deck), good views from most units I visited, and a top-floor service area with a laundry room boasting the best views of north Michigan Avenue. <br> <br>Doral isn't pricey, but the entire Btructure gave me the sense that the owner of the Btructure has not spent too much on upgrading the appearance, either exterior or interior.
