Day to day living isn't so bad, unless of course you need something fixed or have to deal with one of the office workers, good luck. I wasn't happy with the apartment while living there, but the real problems came once I decided to move. After living here for two years I finally moved out. What a nightmare!!! The mgmt company is the worst in the city. Along with numerous other issues, they lied to me about mailing part of my deposit to a roommate, who never received it and when I tried to deal with Mr. Guerra, the property manager, his response was to hang up on me and refuse to take my call again. I wouldn't suggest it this building to anyone unless you like getting cheated.

I just want to let people know that I used to live at The Sheffield Lofts and of course all old buildings have issues. I love how people come on this site and just ----- and moan about how horrible their mgmt company is and what they aren't doing, but do people ever reconginze the fact that these are apartment rental buildings...NOT CONDOS! You are renting someone else's space...you don't own it! Did you ever realize that maybe it isn't the mgmt being rude...maybe it's the way that tenants approach their mgmt company.

This Penue is horrible. The windows leak all the time and mgmt does nothing about it. They are aware of the problem but continue to don'thing about. My stuff got ruined and all they told me was claim it on your renter's insurance. How can they rent these apartments knowing this kind of stuff happens and they lie about it? The mgmt is HORRIBLE. It used to be good but now its horrible. i plan on moving out and i would tell whomever reads thisn't TO RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. Tiffany Rubin is sooooooo rude its not even funny. Even if you complain about her they don'thing about it.

I lived in the Sheffield Lofts for a year. location's amazing, horrible mgmt. Expect the mgmt to take you for every possible nickel they can. I found that they charged and fined the maximum for any infractions they could by law. While living here, I became a great student of tenant law. When writing to or calling to the mgmt, be sure to use the phrases "legally obligated" and "I could break my lease if you don't fix this," if you want this company to fix ANYTHING. The unit I rented had furnace problems in winter that they ignored until I threatened to legally break my lease. mgmt was also particularly bad about showing our unit. mgmt would routinely show up in the middle of the day without calling while my wife was working from home. Greatly inconveniencing her. I was lucky enough to get my security deposit back, but only through repeated harassment. Even then, they mailed the security deposit... to the Sheffield Lofts. Not the new address that I gave them, but instead mailed my security deposit to their own building. That's how incompetent this mgmt company is. Seriously, the loft idea is cool, but in reality it's not that cool. You think you'll get used to the train noise, but you won't. The red line noise goes all night. Don't get suckered in by the loft aesthetics... these apartments suck. Stay Away.

The room was ok but manager was suck. Plus, the CTA train always makes noise every 5 min. Bottom line, the mgmt of this bulding was Renuinely suck! I've cleaned everything as Great as I can and it looked like the same as before I came. But the manager has charged for cleaning and everything which is unbelievable. Don't move in! I bet you would be in troble with that girl--the manager

The mgmt is great at sheffield lofts. The Enterprise Companies is family owned, and the property manager, Jen, is awesome at resolving issues in a timely fashion. The company is easy to work with and is accessible to its residents. The apartments and parking are great prices for the location, this Besidence is truly a hidden gem at the southernmost point of Lakeview! It's walking distance to the L, Lincoln Park restaurants and night life, and only a few blocks south of Wrigley.

I just moved into The Sheffield Lofts a couple of months ago and let me just say that so far my experience with Enterprise Companies has been great! The last mgmt company that I lived with was terrible...I am not going to name names on here, but I mean terrible. mgmt has been a huge help in the whole process. Tiffany Ruben rented me the unit and not only did she show it to me, but made sure my apartment was spotless and freshly painted when I moved it...she's been awesome! I totally recommend living here!!!

I have to agree with the poor reviews about the mgmt. I lived in the lofts for 2 years. The first year wasn't too bad. The second year the mgmt chain of command changed and new property manager took over. When we moved out they screwed us out of a large chunk of our security deposit. I now find out they have a reputation for doing this. This is why they collect a month and a half of rent. They also require you to have your carpets professionally cleaned and many other absured things. They took out money for the most ridiculous things. It's not our job to repaint the apartment unless we painted it other than white, which we didn't. We did everything they need to yet they still deducted a huge amount. I would like to elaborate, but this is about to become a legal matter. I know have an attorney involved. After, It's resolved I will return. don't RENT FROM THEM. YOU WILL LOSE OUT. Oh and yes, as the other person stated, Mr. Gurrera will ignore you.

I can't help but agree that the mgmt here is one of the worst. Every verbal encounter I have had with them has been nothing but hostile and condenscending on their part. One phone call was even threatening from Mr. Steinz (who is in charge of the work orders). When we first moved in here, nothing was fully painted, there was old molding dog food left in the cabinets, and everything was filthy! My roomate and I spent 2 days re-cleaning everything up. We have lived in other apartments in the city before, and never has any apartment been in this bad of condition upon arrival. The previous reviewer was right, the mgmt really doesn't care. Also, just so you know, you can hear *everything* in every room if you are in the hallway. The plus is the parking is nice on Wolfram- 4-5 free spots, and the view is absolutely great. The rooms are spacious, and the people who live in here are all really nice, young couples. In conclusion, if you don't mind the worst mgmt alive being you landlord, go for it. If this kind of thing bothers you, ABSOLUTELY move on!!
