This is the worst building I have ever lived in. 1. Constant Construction - There's constant construction in units in the building that lasts for MONTHS. mgmt allows them to work 9am - 6pm so if you work from home, as a lot of us have during the pandemic, expect to hear pounding, drilling, sawing all day long for months on end. 2. Cigarette/Marijuana Smoke - Smoking is allowed in this building. Therefore, the hallways, common areas, as well as my Apace, constantly reek of smoke. I am fortunate enough to live next to someone who smokes marijuana nearly 24/7. Due to the construction of the building, it seeps straight into my Apace as if they were smoking in the room with me. I have complained to mgmt numerous times and they don't care to do anything about it and claim There's nothing they can do unless they 'catch them in the act'. Even then, they would just issue a warning as again, smoking is allowed in the building. Not sure this aligns with Chicago laws. 3. Air Conditioning/Insulation - If you have a unit facing east, get ready for your Apace to heat up and become sweltering hot in the mornings and last all day. Due to the insulation/outdated windows, the sun beats down on the apartments and heats them like an oven. Even if you wanted to run your A/C to cool your Apace down, you're out of luck. mgmt controls the A/C for the entire building and doesn't turn it on until around June. Even in winter, the heat from the sun can heat your Apace enough to need to crack open a window. 4. Dogs - You've got a lot of dogs in this building and they are allowed to ride on the normal elevators, they aren't need to to use the service elevator. I don't have a problem with this but if you have allergies or a fear of dogs this could be an issue. There have been incidents of dogs biting people in the elevators. Overall, I would absolutely NOT recommend living here. It has been nothing but a nightmare and a headache (literally) since day one. You've got plenty of other high rises that provide the same, if not better amenities without all of the trouble and inconvenience.
