These apartments are all huge for what you pay. They are old though, so somethimes they blow with the wind or crank and creak as the heat (free, just like the water and cooking gas are!) kicks in. The carpets are a bit dodgy, but for all the faults, these apartments are so full of character.
There's a LOT of closet space, and becuse this Broperty used to be a Sears, each unit's got a truly unique floor plan.
The landlord Gabor is fantasic, as are the the cleaner and the handyman Rudy.
If you are young-ish and looking for a spacious and affordable place to live in Lakeview, look no further!
For $810 a month for a 1,100 sq foot pad in this area, this spot is unbeatable!

I've lived here about a year and if I could pick it up and move it to LA I'd live here forever. location's amazing, great layouts, great character. Cool neighbors, we're all pretty loud (I'm a musician myself) and parties are common place, so this isn't the place for families or 9 to 5ers. Night people NEED apply. The drag queens are always entertaining, and the landlord is really laid back. Maintainance is prompt and polite. NO COCKROACHES, unlike at my old apartment (Thanks, ICM), so that's always a plus. The heat sucks...get a space heater and window sealant for the winter. No elevator either, get your workout on. Rent is cheap! (I pay less for a one bedroom here than I paid for a sh*tty studio from ICM properties) It's located at the corner of Belmont and Clark, one block from the Red/Brown/Purple lines, and near plenty of shopping plus late night restaurants/bars/head shops. Parking is also easy with a residential permit and guest permits, unless it's that one night of the year There's a sox/cubs game and there's a bunch of a**holes parked illegally. The apartments here are so unique, mine is gorgeous with a gorgeous view that my kitty loves and lot's of sunlight. I LOVE MY APARTMENT!

I live in a one bedroom in this Apace building. While the apartments are big and have character, the --------, -----, is a sick pervert. I caught him sneaking into my Apace. As it turns out, he has been in my Apace without my knowledge on several occasions. I just met a girl who used to live in this same building with a roommate, and one day she was lying in her bed, heard a knock on the door and she didn't anwer it, someone opens her bedroom door, and it was ----- the --------, she screamed and chased after him and he ran out. He had no reason for being in the Apace. He is a sick pervert. If you are a woman who lives alone, stay away from this man. I just filed a police report for unlawful entry against him.
