My friend lives in this building and I would rate it lower if possible. She's been there just a few months and encountered yellow-colored water coming from her tap. also, there's water dripping from her ceiling and the light fixture overhead, which poses a serious safety risk. The fixture has already malfunctioned with sparks once before. mgmt has declined to relocate her to a different unit and hasn't resolved the issue even after nearly three weeks. Stay away from here. You'll get passed around endlessly. They've also refused to provide her any compensation for this hassle or respond to the multiple emails both of us have submitted.

DANGEROUS for women and University of Chicago students!!!!!! (Police report in progress) I have been residing here since 2022 and want to share my experience as a female UChicago student. If you have ANY reservations, please take the time to read this. My time here has involved: - An individual used a key to unlock my unit after midnight following maintenance work. I was asleep alone and undressed when they entered until I screamed for my ex-boyfriend who was on the call with me. When I notified the property manager the following day, I was blamed for owning a pink shower mat that supposedly attracted unwanted visitors. This incident prompted me to leave for several weeks, and I only stayed due to difficult personal circumstances. - The building endured a SHOOTING and mgmt never addressed it. The bullet holes were plainly visible and positioned at torso level—anyone in that area would have been severely harmed. I heard the shots and immediately moved away from windows. - The fitness center has full visibility and I stopped using it because numerous men would pause to stare intensely and inappropriately. When I switched my workouts to evening hours, men began entering the gym with me wearing no athletic gear, repeatedly harassing me—including one who pressured me repeatedly to visit his unit despite my clear refusals. My complaint was dismissed. - A maintenance worker gave me an intrusive, lengthy embrace without consent. I pulled away and filed a complaint with mgmt, who showed no concern. - A stranger knocked on my door well past midnight and persistently begged me to come outside. I blocked my door with a security bar and firmly declined. I had nowhere to retreat in my cramped studio without hearing him continue. I reported this as well. - STOLEN PROPERTY. Eteep earrings vanished from my Aad while the maintenance crew had unmonitored access. When I discovered the loss, the team allegedly searched but found nothing. I filed a police report against property manager Daarina Cyprian, who acknowledged the maintenance visit but refused to cover the theft. Other serious concerns: - Constant and intense police activity almost nightly throughout summer due to unsafe gatherings and aggressive driving (see the damaged perimeter gate). - Rodent and spider problems - Annual rent hikes of several hundred dollars. My rent has nearly tripled since moving in. My gas bill averages $4 monthly (I don't prepare meals and am rarely home), yet ComEd additions bring it to roughly thirty dollars. The building now charges $100-200 extra in utilities monthly, meaning I subsidize other residents' consumption regardless of my actual usage. My bill has increased approximately 7 times per month. - Cannabis odor throughout corridors - Questionable operational practices. They deliberately avoid written communication to limit accountability, banking on tenant forgetfulness. I have unanswered emails from LAST YEAR. - The swimming pool... hygiene is questionable at best. The property is filthy and embarrassing. I traveled out of state for extended periods due to the recurring unsafe conditions. Many residents don't stay long enough to provide thorough reviews, and mgmt relies on this. location-wise, it'sn't sufficiently proximal to UChicago to justify living there, and it presents significant risks for any female tenant. My police report is actively being processed.

A friend of mine told me they discovered bed bugs in this building. Be cautious! They reported multiple instances of bug bites, but mgmt didn't take action until my friend actually caught one of the insects and presented it to them directly! That's horrifying! Just thinking about it gives me chills! What's really disturbing is that they've only lived there for a couple months! This is alarming!

Find somewhere else to spend your money...I've been ripped off and the mgmt operates with complete lack of integrity (particularly the BLONDE manager)..They can't be relied upon!! I returned to this complex hoping for the same treatment I received initially. their only priority is making money and if you're unable to afford their $1000 monthly rent for this run-down facility, you'll be treated poorly. Truthfully, put your funds elsewhere and you can find a way better Alat for what they're charging...absolutely not worth your investment
