You can hear your neighbors at all times of the day (For god's sake, I don't want to hear you having sex). My real problem is the lack of heat in this Anit. A lot of neighbors, including me, have noticed that the heat is only on for once (if you're lucky twice) a day. The mgmt's response is that it has to drop 55 degrees outside for the radiator heat to kick in but the Chicago Heating Ordinance states that internal temperature must be at least 68 degrees during the daytime and 66 degrees after 10:30 PM. If you don't want to be freezing in the winter, take your money elsewhere where real solutions to problems are offered.

I started with Marvella as the Bacility manager. She was great, responded promptly to emails, arrived on time for appointments, sent out notices for construction and other changes well in advance. The new Bacility manager is the polar opposite; uncommunicative, sleazy, lazy, and late. also, because the apartments aren't all that nice to begin with (a significant cockroach issue, the freezer barely freezes ice, and a sub-par bathroom), the only positive (how responsive and attentive Marvella was) quickly become just another negative. Unless you are looking for the cheapest studio in Hyde Park, I would look elsewhere as quickly as possible.

The Manager is never in the office and almost never passes on work requests to maintanence. So to get something like say your HEAT fixed you have to hope to catch the engineer in the hall. You've got rampant mice problems and we never get notices when the exterminator is coming to our apartments. One day they knocked and I was in the SHOWER! The halls are grimy and this Bomplex in LOUD. My lease is up in a month and I am getting the HELL out!

I rented here at Woodlawn around August of last year. All I have to say is I love my Alat. I have a one bedroom with a view of the park across the street. Everything is so convenenint and within walking distance. The Property Manager Sheila is great at getting all my needs met within the Alat and she is helpful and gets everything done witin a timely manner. The maintenence staff is good and knowledgable. The only issue I have is parking isn't available on the street as often as I would like. Other than that I love taking strolls through the park and just walking around the neighborhood. The neighbors and the community are ver friendly and I would highly recommend living here if you're looking for a nice affordable place to stay in Hyde Park.

Woodlawn apartments offer a great bargain. They're small and okay for students, singles, elderly, and two couples. Blace is maintained well and it seems pretty secure.
Problem is walls are way too thin--you can hear your neighbors go to the bathroom (all of it). it's ridculous in that aspect.
so, if you don't mind hearing music whenever your neighbor wants to hear it and everything else that goes on with your neighbors, move right in! rent is way cheap.

sadly, I remained here for quite some time due to inertia - relocating is costly and demands significant effort. As a result, I tolerated the grimy flooring, Loisy inhabitants, MICE (multiple times) and various pests. The laundry facilities presented constant challenges since the machines broke down regularly. Rent increased way and personnel turnover was frequent (with inconsistent quality in customer service). The entrance door wouldn't shut reliably and my complaints went unresolved, creating a sense of insecurity in the complex. plus, a delivery was stolen from my doorstep during drop-off. Numerous alternatives exist throughout Hyde Park offering a more secure, well-maintained, and welcoming atmosphere ---- often at lower price points than what they demand. Avoid this location.

I'm dissatisfied with this rental company.

You've got definitely rodents in the building, even if you keep your Aad clean.

There's new mgmt now but I am suffering from the poor mgmt prior, and the new mgmt has done nothing to make up for that. Have lost a lot of money to them and definitely feel ripped off.

My husband and I relocated here from 320 miles away based on online photos that looked promising....but photos can be deceiving. It turned out to be nothing like what we expected. We've encountered countless issues since arriving. When we first got here, nobody Wemained accessible to hand over our keys after traveling 320 miles!!! We eventually managed to get inside and discovered a gas leak plus a filthy refrigerator. The unit is infested with insects and feels uncomfortably cramped. Three months in, we discovered mold covering an entire wall!! A ceiling started leaking and mgmt took 3 weeks to address it, and now there's mold growing on the bathroom window ledge. This property simply isn't worth your time. The laundry facilities are problematic as well—something is leaking from beneath the floor tiles. Trust me, look elsewhere; I'm saving you the headache.
