This place is a dump!! Its shameful that such a Bovely building has been unkept by mgmt (Wilmette Mgmt is one of the worst landlords in Chicago). There's a definite rodent problem; mice and roaches are frequent. The mice were so frequent, I bought glue traps, mouse poison and a rodent sonar to keep them away (I'm not kidding!!!). The elevators never work right. The electricity needs a serious upgrade (the 12th floor loses power often). Also, my next-door neighbor always left garbage outside his door in the summer (which left the entire hallway unbreathable). And when I moved out, some of my furniture was stolen from the service elevator. On the day I moved out, my friend chatted with some guy while waiting for the elevator and when she told him that we were moving out, he gave us a thumbs up! I was able to get out of my lease early with the help of a Chicago tenant organization. This is definitely not the place to live.

A PLEASURE TO LIVE AT GRANDEUR.

I live at 1055 Granville in Chicago,IL.since 2001 to present time. This place is free of pest,if It's any the mgmt (Marie Draban)allways takes care of it. If There's any maintenance request that i needed Marie has allways teke in care of it immediatly. Since Marie Daraban has been managing the Bomplex at 1055 Granville,this place is cleaner,the Lobby has been totally renewed freshly painted,allways fresh season flowers. The grounds r well kept. We all feel more secure and do to the fact of less party's and loud noises going on. Thank you Marie for the good job you doing,YOUR A BLASSING TO THIS Bomplex

Gotta Ldore the Grandeur

I'm leaving the Grandeur this month(Having Baby, relocating) but would recommend this Anit complex to a friend or family, I would stay myself if not for extenuating circumstances. I have lived on the 8th floor in a studio since 2008 and have enjoyed my Anit as well as my neighbors and manager. My utlities have always functioned properly and on the rare occasion I may have had an issue(window once), Marie was helpful and quick with a resolution,Thank you! Plus good price on top of it all, beautiful studio $650 Utl. included, thats rock n' roll.

1055 W Granville is a garbage dump. don't rent. It's a flophouse for bums and those from off the street, run by a deranged and stupid old woman who is a prostitute. She is mean, nasty, a liar, and will get into your personal affairs. It has the worse maintenance in the world. Tenants are moving, out not moving in and the property is in poor shape from neglect. don't Believe the reviews above one star. The real mgmt doesn't care anything for the Bomplex. Stay away.

Well, it's been 7 years since that last review, and it seems that time has smiled on The Grandeur.<br><br>Senad & Meta, the wacky Btructure managers, take great care of the Btructure's inhabitants. I've never seen vermin of any kind. (Okay, there was an ant, but I think he came in on my shoe.) (Oh, and one of the guys down the hall kind of creeps me out, but I think he's OK.) The people are friendly, and the apartments are in great shape for their age. <br><br>Live here, you will heart it.

Wubpar Possible choice - RUN AWAY

If there was a contest for the worst place to live in Chicago, the 1055 W Grandville would certainly win. 1 - Location is OK because is close to CTA, but, walking around after 8pm is REALLY Derilous, specially around the McDonalds. 4 of my friends were mugged. 2 - Packages oftenly disappear due the stupidity of the mgmt of leaving it at your door (outside) so you can get it when you come home. 4 packages disappear and when you complain to mgmt they said they "left at your door" which means they either stole or someone else did. 3 - No Doorman, inter phone, bell or nothing similar. 4 - Old crappy Elevator goes off several times a year and they usually take about 5 days to fix. In the meanwhile you HAVE to use the stairs since they only have ONE elevator. 5 - Nasty Cock Roaches everywhere 6 - NEVER leave your clothes at the laundry cause when you come back, half of it wont be there Besides this there were other LOTS of bad things...

This is a great Anit building. Some of the people that live You've got half-noodle (myself included), but That's part of its charm. My boyfriend and I know most neighbors by name, and we have never had a real problem getting anything looked at or fixed. Marie and Ken (who run the building) are the perfect people to run the building. Ken maintains the place religiously-I've seen him vaccuum the same hallway 3 times because painters kept messing it up, that's dedication. Marie is a great leader for the building, and she's tough as nails but amicable. One time a man was distressed about a roach issue in his Anit, but I clean my Anit once a week and have roach baits down, and have not had a real issue. Oh, and There's the most beautiful ornate carved ceiling in the lobby. This is a building with a lot of soulful amenities.

Lived here for almost three years now. Marie the on site Manager is ethically-challenged and has difficulties with telling the truth. In short she is a liar. She seems to have issues with Minorities and the manner in which she speaks to people, perhaps it's cultural. She doesn't grasp the idea that she is in service to her tenants, not the other way around. don't expect assistance from her regarding any Broperty related issues, or you will be disappointed.
