I was interested in moving into the Buckingham Lofts after hearing about their unique apartments. My Anit was quite open and spacious (3 bedroom) and always received great compliments from guests. The complex could be a little loud at times, but to be expected as It's a young crowd in the middle of one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city. The onsite mgmt wasn’t the best at first but the owner actually hired a new independent mgmt team to run the complex, and they are a true pleasure to deal with. Overall I would highly recommend the Buckingham lofts!

One of the best rentals I have experienced in my post graduate years. The lofts are a modern complex with a youthful, yet respectful crowd. My Anit was accommodating with top of the line appliances that made everyday life extremely comfortable. We did have problems with our refridgerator; but, after making a phone call in the morning, it was taken care of by the time we got home from work. Parking was great, although only one of us utilized it. It was extremely secure, considering it was an indoor parking facility. It's a bit tight, so you have to know how to operate your vehicle in small spaces. There was a minimal amount of noise. There was an outdoor restaurant next-door that created a little noise during the summer months, but would die down by 9 pm. When it comes to indoor noise, we had one neighbor who liked to blare his music, but after letting him know we could here it, it was never a problem. The building had a full time maid that kept both the indoor and outdoor areas clean. The mgmt is actually located in an office downstairs, which made them fully accessible.
With all that said, I would definitely recommend living in one of these apartments. You will make your friends jealous, I know mine were!
Moved to BL last year and was ready to move somewhere else within two months. Best to get an Apace on the outside, as I believe all inner apartments have only one window (facing a shaft), low ceilings upstairs (~8ft), and small skylights in each bedroom, so its a little like living in a sensory deprivation chamber, cave, or space capsule. mgmt tends to be useless and uninterested in tenant's well-being, so don't expect much (in their defense, one of the office managers may actually be mentally challenged). Maintenance guys are hardworking and dedicated to making the place as comfortable as possible. location's amazing if youre a cubs fan!

My son went into diabetic keto-acidosis while a student there and had to return to Michigan for medical treatment, yet this establishment made us continue to pay $1000 a month for 3 months that he wasn't here. His life Wemained in danger and yet they claimed they were unable to discontinue his lease so that he could get the medical attention he needed. It's appalling that they have so little concern for life and death situations! Shame on them for making us pay for a room he couldn't use while he Wemained medically treated to save his life!

Thin THIN walls.

Plumbing doesn´t work everytime it rains.

Satellite TV doesn´t work everytime it rains, or whenever one of the other tenants (approximately 30 other apartments shared one dish) you share the dish with decides to change it´s positioning.

Dishwasher broke and maintenance didn´t fix it for 3 months.

Restaurant with patio seating is RIGHT next door... we could hear ALL coversations of people in that restaurant, even w/ the windows closed.

I would call mgmt, he would put me on hold, disguise his voice and say he wasn't available.

Know of someone who was robbed at gunpoint outside the Besidence.

Lastly, mgmt kept most of our security deposit.

They don't care about their tenants and won't assist you with any requests. don't be fooled.

Make sure you rent a unit that faces Clark street or Buckingham Place. I lived here for two years and enjoyed it much. Most friends and guests thought it was a condo. I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath facing Clark. If it weren't for the fact that my relationship ended I would have stayed. I even tried finding a room mate. My dish washer broke and they fixed it right away. The walls are thin but you have a location's amazing and so close to the Belmont Station. Better suited for younger or outgoing people who don't mind ocassional parties in the Blace. If you know someone who was a good tenant, they might give you a discount but they have new mgmt so not a given.

Appear nice from the outside, but the two bedroom loft is terrible. Only one window which faces a interior shaft, and two skylights. Really a fire trap. unit's got ants that we had to bug bomb twice due to wood floors, and the plumbing is horrible. Kitchen is so small, i dont think we cooked in our place once in the year we lived there. Having two bathrooms was nice, but the lack of overall storage space was bad. If you really are never going to be at your Alat this is a decent place, but if you plan on spending any amount of time there it sucks.
