I lived in a studio apartment here for two years and I miss it. Great location! Down the street from the Fullerton el stop, Dominick's and a drugstore, not to mention a ton of restaurants, bars and shopping. The landlord is this really nice guy who also owns the currency exchange next door. He will hold all your packages there and always leaves a note when you've got a package waiting. He'll also give you quarters for the laundry. He's very meticulous about repairs - I could call his mobile at any time for a repair and he would usually fix it the same day. He brought in people to check for bugs every month and someone cleaned the hallways and the lobby every week. The building can get a little noisy because a lot of students tend to live here, but I didn't have too many problems. There was a student living on the first floor who used to throw loud parties, but that stopped pretty quickly after the landlord notified his parents (who were paying his rent) that their son would be evicted if he recieved one more complaint. Street noise is more of a concern, and if you get the front apartment on the second level (like I did), the street lamp shines directly into your bedroom/living room window.
