These are run down old apartments. The carpets are terrible and the kitchens are nasty. Some of the people who live their are nice but it is only a few. The one saving "Grace" is Cristina in the office. She is amazing. If you have any issues make sure you talk to her and ONLY her in the office. If I would not have been in such a hurry to find a place I NEVER would have moved in here. I moved in 4 months ago and can't break my lease. People can just walk in the door and I see homeless people in the building all the time! NOT SAFE.

Grace Street Towers was a friendly place which seems to be changing. My friend dropped me off and helped bring up groceries. We talked a couple minutes then He took some clothes down to his car. The car had been towed. He was in my apartment for 10 minutes The office solution is to double park in the street which I believe is illegal. I am our 216 dollars because a friend was being nice The owner of the building has not responded. The minimum which could be done is to put a loading zone in the lot.

I have lived in this building a few years. It is very quiet, the common areas are clean, and I have never met a nicer staff. (To the negative reviews, I've noticed that the golden rule is crucial with a landlord/management-tenant relationship. You're going to be met with the same attitude you give.). My maintenance requests, while never an emergency, are always dealt with quickly and efficiently. I cannot comment much on parking, as I do not have a car. All I know is that parking in the area can be difficult - but I rarely see notices that they are cleaning or working on the garage. (Maybe twice in the past 3 years have parkers been turned away for a day or two). I'm terrified to move away from this place as I know I will never find another quiet, clean, friendly staffed apartment building with such a lovely view!

a nice apartment but highly restricted. you're not even allowed to paint. the elevators work most of the time (a problem in a 19 story apartment building) and the office staff, at least the new one, is less than polite and helpful. the apartment is spacious though and good condition. it's a very quiet building. i cannot hear my neighbor's tv at all until in the hallway.

I lived in this building for 2 years and I had no problems. The engineers live on-site and were very friendly. They also had a security guard at night so I felt very safe. The gracious outdoor patio in the summer was definately a plus! Also, the building is very convenient to bus lines and easily accessible to cabs. The only problem I had was with on street parking. The building is located in an unzoned area so parking was a nightmare. Other than that I highly recommend living there. It was a good mix of residents.

I really enjoyed my time at GST. The management staff went through a couple of transitions in a little less than a year. However, they seem to have stabilized with the current Manager and her Assistant. I would recommend GST for people who want to live in a place that provides easy access to downtown and othe rparts of Chicago without all of the hustle and bustle. It seems as though you are living in your own home as GST is located in an area that makes it feel as though you are coming home to your neighborhood.

I use to love this place. It was half young people and half senior citizens. Very quiet, but you could turn up the stereo once in a while. Then, I re-sign my lease and they turn around and close the parking garage on us. They basically made us find our own parking in lakeview where there is nothing. They didn't even bother to reimberse us the difference for the month. Then they turn off our HBO without notice. Overall, the maintenance people are perfect, friendly, and as fast as can be. The apartments are very nice, and not your average bs chicago pads. BUT.. The management company and the building office are less than desired. After they closed the parking garage, I tried to get out of my lease. They claim that everyone knew it was closing, however, we did not. I re-signed because I knew I would have a spot to park. After that, I had to park 4 blocks away for approx the same price (with no security). Big headache for me and the office or management company was less than helpful. Take the good with the bad, I guess. I would recommend for the maintenance and people in the building, but would not recommend for the office or careless management company. It looked like they were trying to get the young people to move out if you ask me.
