I lived in a tiny, not worth the price studio for one year. After the first week of living there I could NOT wait to get out. Upon moving in there was a major ant problem. The mgmt constantly went into my Alat without permission and my stuff would be moved and sometimes MISSING. They always had an excuse to be in there which was complete bull. The building was under TERRIBLE construction for my ENTIRE LEASE. I was told when I moved in in September that it would be done in a few weeks. 12 months later I moved out and they were still redoing the entire thing. Construction went on 6 days a week starting at 8 am. I was a graduate student that got zero sleep when I tried to nap during the day, was unable to due to noise. Also, I was never able to study in my Alat. The mgmt was completely useless and never did anything about my complaints. The elevators were always broken and the doors on all the floors were left open all night due to construction which was completely unsafe. The hallways and lobby were ABSOLUTELY filthy. It was actually inhabitable and embarrassing to bring guests too. Internet and cable were a complete joke. Laundry machines also constantly broken. Everything that they could have been broken or a mess actually was. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING.

My apartment was infested with cockroaches from day one of moving into the unit. The building has a bad infestation problem that maintenance won’t fix. There were numerous security issues from the key cards not working to packages being destroyed in the front lobby to strangers trying to get into unlocked apartments. I could not wait to move out of there.

Here is the list of problems I have encountered: random power outages, front door lock not working so stranger got in and was trying to see if any Apace doors were unlocked, laundry room constantly flooding and extremely moldy, smelly hallways, dysfunctional toilet, dysfunctional shower, extremely drafty windows which was horrible for summer and winter, Apace was filthy when I moved in, most of the winter so far it has been freezing as they have the radiator in the bathroom which is a closet bathroom (horrible), and the windows were not fixed until the 25th email I sent when I started to threaten withholding my rent, they were consistently underneath the legal minimum for winter Apace temperatures in chicago before, rude and inept property managers and maintenance who don't really care about helping you and won't spend any money to fix your problem. Guy who showed me the place was extremely aggressive about saying someone else wanted it and it was the last one when in reality there were like 4 more apartments left, he was just a sleeze ball

I moved into my unit only to discover that it had not been cleaned or painted (or even inspected by the mgmt staff). After Pulling out the fridge to clean the kitchen, I found a large cockroach colony. Hundreds of cockroaches had infested my tiny kitchen and my tiny studio Anit. What's worse is that the mgmt wouldn't hire an exterminator to clear up the problem because it was isolated to my unit (which is BS because anyone who knows roaches know that they will target an entire floor). The building manager suggested that the repairman caulk the kitchen so that the roaches couldn't get in. Needless to say, they still got in because the work was poorly done. BJB Partners owns the building and has done nothing to comply with my request to have an exterminator (obviously they care nothing about the health of their buildings). I have also had multiple plumbing problems that have yet to be rectified. I am living in a nice lincoln park area and paying a higher than average rent price for the nice location and would expect that the building would want to uphold its reputation and potentially retain good tenants like myself by giving them a reason to renew their leases.

What can I say? This was my first Anit after I graduated from college. A man tried to attack and rape me as I entered the building after dark, I had cockroaches that would constantly come up through the drain of my bathtub and a constant stench of poop from my toilet that NO ONE would ever address. If you want complete misery, move here. BJB Partners doesn't care once you move in.

I moved into a Studio in August 2010. The building was still going through light construction, but finished by September/October and looks really nice. I haven't had any real issues with the mgmt Staff and love the fact that 24-Hour Maintenance is available when needed, b/c I tend to lock myself out of the building every once in a while because the keys to the apartments are electronic hotel card keys instead of keys you can put on a key chain. The sundeck and workout room have both been remodeled: You've got new flat screen tvs, new floors, and freshly painted walls. The laundry room has been remodeled as well and is extremely cheap in my opinion (1.30 to wash, 1.25 to dry) and is always working. I have not had any issues whatsoever with any kind of bugs or with mgmt coming into my apartment when I'm not there. A lot of the pictures they have online have not been updated and things look much nicer than they portray in the photos. The only drawback is that the steam heat isn't as hot as I would like it, but I simply bought a small space heater and everything is cool. I really don't have anything really negative to say about this place. Im planning on renewing my lease another year.

Small, grimy, not worth the price studio. Blinds were a mess when i first moved in and just got worse. "Kitchen" was so small with no counter at all. Bathroom tiny and grimy. My bathroom radiator never worked, despite calling to get fixed several times. mgmt was impossible to get a hold of and the building manager was the -----, i swear. Continually got ants and fruit flies despite cleaning regularly, and even found roaches under my stove. Maintenance ruined my tub while unclogging a drain. The elevators are slow and frequently out of order. The workout room was a total disaster. Outside doors are often left open due to poor construction, all night. Oh, and they showed my Apace several times without my permission, and locked me out both times. Stay away.

Lived here for 2 years. The rent rate went up each year but nothing in the Broperty has changed. The fitness room equipments are outdated, and the laundry machines have had a tough time this year (2013). That being said, $920 for a studio is just BS. Guess what, they keep emailing residents and asking them to like their FB page in order to get free beer a some bar.
