TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! First, they advertise a rent price and a free month rent to entice you to apply and after you apply they call you to raise the rent price and to let you know they are not doing the free month. Second, the apartment in the pictures was not the same apartment I saw in person, despite having asked in advance if the pictures were accurate. Lastly, every time they’ve called they have a new excuse to charge you more if you want the apartment.

Terrible management company, dated apartments they charge top dollar for. I've lived in the building for 2 years and can only get ahold of someone when it's time for payment due. The management team is terrible, but the office staff at least tries, but can't authorize or make any decisions. They've perfected the run around. STEER CLEAR!!!

Good luck getting any response whatsoever from management/maintenance. 2 years and they continue to deny us access to our lease. They changed locks to laundry room and still haven't given new keys to the laundry room, which is also the room to submit maintenance requests.

The staff and maintenance are terrible! They are never there and generally do not care about their tenants. The building is really old so there is always something wrong with the studio. The maintenance people don't respond and when they eventually do (after three months) they do NOT fix the problem correctly. In fact they make it worse. The maintenance guy is really bad. He complains for doing his job and tries to do as little as possible. Ofc I told the staff and they didn't do anything about his behavior. Lastly, there are safety issues with the front gate. The lock doesn't even work (most of the time) so anyone can come in. It has been such a hassle living here. The apartment issues are still not fixed. No one should go through this type of stress. Extremely unprofessional and unethical business practices. I've lived in a few other apartments during grad school and never had any issues. This place is by far the worst experience yet.

This is a delightful place to live. The location is perfect for those of us relying on public transit. I've never had any problems getting maintenance to take care of the few problems I've encountered. For a studio it is really reasonably priced, especially since it is way bigger than any studio I have ever seen in this city, and it has a separate kitchen!

On first moving in I thought it was a pleasant, charming apartment. Then the people upstairs moved in and I realized that the ceilings are incredibly thin to the point where I could hear the persons phone vibrating on the floor. I've heard constant "music" as the person thinks they're a musician. Sex noises, mostly from him (she was faking), also masturbation noises where I provided "baby" by Justin beiber for him. Creaking of the floor boards from walking around, and occasional tidbits of conversations. Also rent is pretty high even though utilities are included but it is a larger studio. Still $835 is ridiculous for a studio. Other than that management has been good and I haven't had any major maintenance issues except the radiator and that was quick.

I would not recommend renting in this building. I love the area and my apartment, but the management is absolutely terrible. They take forever to fix things, constantly leave messes behind in my apartment, and are extremely rude and disrespectful to tenants. The building manager refused to return my phone calls when I was calling about a huge mess left by an unsupervised plumber, and simply would not let me speak when I confronted him in person, talking over me every time I started a sentence. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially when you are paying a good amount to live in a comfortable and safe place. It once took a month to fix the pull-string on the main light in my apartment. I had no ceiling light in my main room for a month because the maintenance man kept forgetting to call about the part. Take my advice, rent elsewhere!

This was definitely a total waste of money. It sounds good because all utilities are included in the rent, but actually they WAY over charge for a studio (697) when you could pay that and find a much nicer place. It's really not even a studio but just a very small room. The appliances and bathroom, general maintenance is crappy and cheap. My ceiling leaked the 2nd month I was in there. The basement (where our laundry is) leaked sewage, you can't have fast internet because the wiring is so old, and every once in a while the electricity shuts off which is great in the cold winter or hot summer. I hear you don't get your security deposit back when you leave which is bull. The neighborhood is crappy and you never feel safe because the doors never lock out front. People steal packages all the time so you can't ever get anything delivered. Don't live here.

Wow, where do I start? First off, the apartment wasn't even ready on the lease date and they didn't even offer the courtesy of a pro-rate. Upon moving in, this is the list of things that missing or defective: Blinds, kitchen sink plug, bathroom mirror magnet, closet door knob, poor water pressure, broken dishwasher, a toilet top that didnt even fit the toilet, toilet paper rod, fire alarm, kitchen sink water sprayer, freezer rail guard, ice cube tray, bathroom, kitchen and bedroom lightbulbs. The apartment was also filthy under the fridge, the stove, the sets of blinds we actually did recieve, broken and dirty heaters throughout the apartment and, cat food, hair, litter and residue everywhere. Although, they did fix most of those problems in the first month we were there, the problems never ceased. Our next door neighbor likes to play techno til 3am in the morning, the parking lot we pay $145 a month currently is covered by an inch thick sheet of ice and it took them 3 weekends to fix a washing machine when there is only 2 in the building. To top that all off, we have an apartment with its heat stuck above 80 degrees. When approaching them personally and filling out a request form, all those issues were ignored and we were told that opening the window would only make the heat worse. It is a winter from hell for us that makes the summer of centipede infestation and constant bites throughout the night seem charming. We currently have obtained the Illinois Tenant Union to help us break our lease and were informed that they never gave us a code violation disclosure form. After informing the landlord we are looking to break our lease, he resulted to credit report intimidations and lies that his building has had no infractions. We come to find out that he had several, besides our own, in November 2007. Our code violations include, no self closing device for our front door, the back door building and the elevator door. For the first time in my life, I am actually looking forward to someone taking me to court, and I pray that he does.
